Highly recommend this hidden gem right off I-90! Stopped at Jack's Barcelona Drive In for lunch and it was a fantastic find. It's just a quick exit off I-90 and practically on the lake -- super convenient whether you're heading to Niagara Falls or traveling back toward Pennsylvania or Ohio. The food was excellent and you can really taste the care they put into it. They source as locally as possible, with their perch and other fresh fish coming straight from the fish market across the street. I had a hand-patted juicy beef burger topped with their homemade chili -- delicious. The curly fries are made in-house: they take a whole potato, spiralize it on the spot, and fry it fresh. They were outstanding! The owner also makes all the pies in-house, and everything we tried was super fresh. Prices were fair for the area, the service was genuinely friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the welcoming atmosphere. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop here -- you won't be disappointed! read more

Traveling back from our Canadian trip, we stumbled upon this little gem tucked away off the main road. It's a true one-person operation--the owner is the hostess, cook, and waitress--and she does it all exceptionally well. The food is excellent, cooked to order, and very reasonably priced. We decided to stop for lunch in this little lakeside town on our way to Buffalo recently. Jack's Drive-In was cozy inside with very friendly service and a nice selection of lunch items. The cheeseburger was delicious and the coconut cream pie was a nice treat, both very reasonably priced. My partner enjoyed the meatball sub which was a little more expensive. The location was great, across the street from a beach, with lots of old boats to admire, and close to a historic lighthouse. Great place to stop. read more

The food and price were both great and there is plenty of free parking and it's right by the lake - so it's automatically a nice scene. This place was a great discovery for 2 weary travelers. A short detour off of the highway and you find a slice of relaxation with quaint ambiance and a welcoming staff. The food is truly homemade and very fresh. Portions were appropriate. Be sure to save room for dessert. The homemade pies are beyond delicious. Located just yards away from the Lake Erie shore, Jack's Barcelona Drive-In is a very casual family restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, dine-in or takeout. The dining room is cozy and comfortable with counter seating and table seating and plenty of pictures on the walls. There's also outside patio seating, perfect on nice weather days with a good view of Lake Erie. After enjoying the nice breeze blowing off the Lake, I walked over to "Jack's" for a quick "snack" (this rhymes!) I strolled inside and was warmly greeted by the staff. I looked over the menu offerings, which sounded pretty good and included appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches, burgers, seafood, steaks, chicken, Italian dinners, and desserts at reasonable prices. They also offer free Concord grape juice with your meal. Now I wished I hadn't eaten lunch just an hour earlier. I needed something sweet and refreshing and decided on a cup of Vanilla Ice Cream topped with fresh Concord Grape Sauce (just under $2 with tax). The vanilla ice cream was a bit frozen and hard (alright!), but the Concord Grape Sauce was a fantastic topping with a nice zingy (slightly tart) taste, a very refreshing treat on a nice summer day. Jack's is just a little smallish restaurant and certainly nothing fancy. It serves a breakfast, lunch and dinner. My favorites are their fresh Lake Erie perch (yes, it really is fresh) and their home made chili. They also serve up a really good sirloin patty with grilled mushrooms on the menu as "Big Beth." The winters in this area can be brutal and the hill leading down to Jack's can get really slippery. However, in the summer they have a nice patio and you can feel the cool breezes coming in off of the lake. It's also just plain nice to spend some quality time down near the lake front practically across from the smoke house where you can smell the smoke when they are smoking the white fish. read more

Basic service 101 = silverware, napkins, drinks, straws, and a server with basic knowledge of what is served at the restaurant. Jack's gets a zero out of 10. We asked if the salmon burger contained bread crumbs, as a member of our party has a bad allergy. The waitress replied, "I don't know." We kindly asked, "could you please find out?" She then sighed and said, "I guess." When she finally returned to take our order, 15 mins later, We asked if she had an answer and she replied, "I didn't ask." Needless to say, our Jaws hit the floor and we simply ordered something else in order to avoid having to rely on her for any basic menu knowledge. The waitress brought our food out, 45 mins later, and each order was missing either a sauce, a side, or was under cooked. She served one of us chicken salad (They had ordered egg salad) and, when we asked if it was egg salad, she said "yes". We asked if she was sure and she replied, "we don't serve egg salad". They do. 15 mins later, a 1/2 serving of egg salad appeared with undercooked fries and a warm glass of tap water with no ice. To say that we were disappointed, would be a massive understatement. Please don't waste your time or money here. We won't make that mistake again. Jack's, please train your staff with basic knowledge of what your menu contains, basic serving skills, and basic food knowledge. read more

Nice location with great outdoor seating area and are dog friendly. Staff were good. Had the bacon cheeseburger and found it to be average but skimpy on the bacon with two very small pieces. We went there on a sleepy Saturday afternoon. It was a little confusing on whether they were open or not and how to even order. Due to covid they had zero inside seating. They also would not let us use the restrooms 'due to covid'. The outside space was ok however there were a plethora of bees that they tried to appease by keeping opened jelly pats along the fence. Better that than flying on me I suppose. They did not offer menus, rather you stood and looked at the tiny menu they had posted in the window. Their choices were not the best. Food was ok and a bit pricey for what you got. The chicken parm sandwich was nothing special. Just a chicken finger with some sub par canned sauce and half melted cheese on a bun. Fries were good. The staff was friendly but not very attentive. The view of Lake Erie that others speak of is nothing special. You have to look down the street and through the boat launch to see about 10 feet of lake. This is not a lake side with a nice view establishment. They do have some really nice art inside I recommend looking at (purchasing). read more

My partner's family has spent summers in Westfield for decades, and they tell me Jack's has been open as long as they remember. That's certainly the feel you get when you walk into the place -- the walls are covered with old school photos and decor, and the menu offers inexpensive, no frills diner-type meals. Pay close attention and you'll notice many of the people who visit are regulars, on a first-name basis with the servers. I've only ever visited for lunch, and almost always get the fresh perch sandwich (if it's available). In my humble opinion, it is the best thing on the menu. Friends tell me the egg sandwich (Jackwich, I believe they call it) is also good. I've ordered a few of the salads, which were all solid. If you go this route, you absolutely must try the grape vinaigrette. Outside the regular menu, they also offer daily fish and other specials on the board behind the counter. Jack's also has an excellent selection of local bottled beers, which they serve in frosted mugs. I notice some complaints about service, and they are not entirely off the mark. In my experience, the tables inside are more quickly served than the tables outside. Perhaps something to consider if you're looking for a quick meal rather than a relaxing meal looking out at Lake Erie. The outdoor patio is rather nice. For tourists stopping through, there's a small gift shop at the register with postcards, mugs, hats, etc. Jack's usually also has a copy of the Westfield Republican on hand if you want to get a sense of local happenings. read more

I travel a lot between the east coast and Michigan and always plan my trips so I can have a meal at Jack's Barcelona Drive-in. I like quality food and Julie and her staff know how to make it and serve it up right! I dragged my husband there and I think he thought it was just another small town restaurant...he's a hard-sell and I kept saying just wait...when the food came out...Bingo! He was impressed! But then I insisted we get peach pie to go. The next morning, coffee and pie...Julie's Pie was maybe a tiny bit better than mine (I hate bad pie!) Wonderful place! read more

This cute little spot by the water is fantastic. We sat outside with our dog for breakfast, and it was tasty. I had the biscuits and gravy with some of the best sausage gravy I've ever had. My boyfriend got a bacon and cheese omelet. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and were wearing masks. If you're in town, I recommend you stop in! read more

The service is disgusting. I have tried to like this place for the food but I just CANNOT deal with the ambiance and the service of this diner. My first time there I had a waitress who is blond with short short hair almost like a buzzcut serve me. At first she was very nice but throughout the night neglected me as long as other clientele to goof off with other "customers" and talking about indecent sexual things out loud indoors. The second time I went hoping it would be a better experience, but left the same way. Again the same server was waiting on my table. I went inside telling me that I could go outdoors, but was not given service until I went back inside to ask for assistance. Though the restaurant was not at all busy, my drinks (two pepsis) took about thirty minutes to arrive at my table. Once again for liking the food I went at a different time hoping to get someone new. I went a bit later when I called ahead to ask what time they closed they said at 8. I went in at 7:20 and was told that they could no longer service me as the kitchen was already all turned off. Amazing food for a great price. Only found this place because we were hungry and the only food place around. It's tucked away at the waters edge. I had an amazing salmon burger. My wife and I saw this place and looked on Yelp and it had decent reviews so we tried it. She got their burger, the Big Beth, and it was good. Basic bun but mushrooms and onions were good. Their French fries were a curly fry that were small but good. I ordered the fresh perch sandwhich. It tasted great but bun was just a basic bun that got soggy as I are it because of the freshness of the fish. Great food...cheap diner...tight seating...just us and another table of 2. Great selection of good food! Excellent service, nice area by lake Erie a very pleasant surprise! The buffalo sauce was great and so was the concord grape vinaigrette.
