The night started with a dinner reservation for 6 people to celebrate our friend's masters school graduation. The only thing that went smoothly was ordering our drinks and appetizers. We didn't have a chance to put our dinner orders in at this point. We ordered entrees right before the appetizers came out, which took a long time anyway, and then immediately after our appetizers and salads came out. We then proceeded to wait over an hour for our food with an inattentive server, no apology, and no explanation. When we asked about our food, we still didn't receive any sort of explanation as to why it was taking so long. Then once we got our entrees, the server brought our check very quickly and condescendingly told us that she knew we were in a hurry...we weren't at the beginning of the night but by that point we were - it had been 2.5 hours since we sat down. By the end of the meal, our graduate splashed a small amount of sauce on her white dress and our server very rudely told her that she shouldn't have worn white to an Italian restaurant and then proceeded to make fun of her and say she needed a bib. The food was tasty but the overall experience of dining here unfortunately means we won't be return customers. We aren't unreasonable people and our group has jobs in the service and hospitality industry, we know there is a correct way to handle these situations and being unsympathetic and apathetic isn't it. read more

Fantastic homecooked Italian cuisine and it both looked and tasted like it. Once again, we had found ourselves passing through Westfield on a Monday night sheltered in an Airbnb looking for dinner. We discovered that many places are closed on Monday in town, but not Calarco's. We placed an order for pick-up and the service could not have been nicer. They even accepted plastic, unlike other establishments in town. Portions were huge, the rolls were warm and soft and savory, and that tomato sauce was unique, zesty, and something special. My wife had leftovers of her chicken piccata which she enjoyed; nothing was spared of my eggplant parm as I had to eat it all. Their homemade bleu cheese dressing I asked for with my side salad was so darn good. And to top everything off, we split their last slice of peanut butter pie which was truly an impressive gem. I have had many a pie or cake in fine dining restaurants, yet this particular pie was out of this world. Next time in Westfield, we will meet again, Calarco's. read more

Food was fine. The restaurant was dingy and dirty. Service was so horrendous I had to make an account to leave this review to warn others. I wish I could describe our waitress or give her name, but she spent maybe three minutes at our table out of the nearly 3 hours we were there. Our food took nearly 2.5 hours to come out, with no explanation or apology from our waitress. The waitress was rude and condescending when we politely asked when it would be arriving. At the end of the meal she made fun of my friend for getting a few drips of sauce on her white top and said that she shouldve known better than wearing white and that they have bibs that she should've used. Came here on a whim and I'm really glad we did! Service was great and the food was delicious! Environment was cool, lots of stuff to look at on the walls and place was clean. Unlike some people I didn't care that there was no lemon in my water I prefer it that way actually. I'm half Italian and I'm super picky about sauce but their sauce is on point. The place has been around a long time and it kinda feels like that when you step in here but it's not a bad thing well to me at least. Definitely would come back! read more

The older locals seem to love it. The prices were reasonable; the waitress friendly unfortunately the food was barely adequate seemed sitting for a while. I was extremely hungry so I did eat but my daughter and son in law didn't finish . It wasn't horrible just ok . Their haddock was dried out their soup special minestrone la Jed salt and their Alfredo sauce tasted premade or old . Everything was great! They were really busy but found us a table and gave us good service. We really liked the red sauce and the Alfredo.

The meatball float is delicious!! The burgers are always fresh and the Italian sausage sub is awesome! Service is always with a smile.

The food was alright i can see how some people would really enjoy it but for me the sauce was a bit too sweet for the chicken parm and the aiolio was a little bland for my taste. The atmosphere is very nice and it feels very comforting and i like the historic photos. The service was acceptable but they didnt seem very warm and welcoming but obviously that could depend on the day. Overall im not upset i ate here but im not sure if i would come again read more

My wife and I live in Westfield, but when we are in town we LOVE to eat here! I had this amazing BBQ Pulled Pork with Mac & Cheese special for February. It was SO good, and the BBQ flavoring sunk down into the Mac & Cheese just enough for an amazing, smooth flavor. The Pulled Pork was perfectly tender and succulent! My wife had the Spaghetti & Meat Sauce with Italian Sausage. It was wonderful! The sauce is a sweet sauce which some might not like, but we do! Price was well worth it... $33 with tip. I've gone to Calarco's so many times and it never disappointments! Great food for a great price!

What do they have against cheese? None on the salad bar. Hardly any in the lasagna and none on top of it :( I can't say anything about the soup because it wasn't ready to be put out on the salad bar until we were eating our main course (about 45 mins after opening). The pros: The fried mushrooms were fantastic. The pretzel was amazing. The house red wine was great. The meatball was delicious! The sausage was great. Our waitress was very friendly and let me try the wine first. Very reasonable prices. Cozy inside. Great rolls. Pasta is al dante. The cons: Major lack of cheese everywhere. Extremely sweet sauce. Hardly any garlic. Store bought gnocchi. Very loud door buzzer goes off in the dining room whenever the door is open until it shuts. A group of 10 elderly people came in so it was going off as each one shuffled in slowly with walkers and canes. It's in a run down block. We discovered this little piece of Italy on our way home from Chautauqua. Please do not fear places that look a little old and worn on the outside. It could be the best food of your life. You'd look a little worn too if you were in business for 81 years. Calarco's is a fourth generation family mom and pop Italian restaurant and it is casual elegance at it's finest. I am not a fond lover of spaghetti sauce BUT let me tell you that there is a reason why you can get their sauce to go by the quart. It was everything a perfect sauce should be but I could never find. Mild acid from the tomatoes with just a hit of sweet and full of herby goodness. The meatballs are like nothing I have tasted before. Each ball burst with exceptional flavor. I had the Haddock Gina, cheese and mushroom covered broiled haddock. So delicious. They had several specials available including a fried zucchini appetizer. We thought we would get frozen sticks but these were fresh cut and dipped whole zucchini rounds. Best fried zucchini I have ever had out. My only suggestion would be (and I would be willing to pay a few extra dollars) if the pasta was hand made. The service was swift and efficient. She answered every question and even though she was the only server in the whole place she never made you feel like you were just one of the crowd. They do have a bar section if you prefer that. Their wine list was not extensive but what they have are very fine choices. If you every find yourself in Westfield NY drive past all the nice places on the strip turn down Market St and head to Calarco's. read more

The food is borderline atrocious at best. There were six of us, each ordering a different item from the menu, and we ordered two appetizers, including calamari that most likely came frozen from Sam's Club, and not a single item was something any of us would ever go back for. The tiny salad bar was okay, which meant it was the best thing on the menu. We also ordered several drinks and the vodka tonics tasted like pure tonic, with maybe an eye-dropper of actual vodka in them. The biggest beef we had, though, was the temperature in the place. It had to be pushing 90 degrees, and we, along with several other parties, told management repeatedly that it was too hot. Apparently, a regular had complained that it was too cold and thus they shut the air off, leaving all of us drenched with sweat. The place is kind of homey, and given that it's been there since 1933, it has historical value, but you'd think after 85 years in business someone there might have learned how to cook an edible meal. read more

We were camping in the area and found this gem. When we pulled up I was a little concerned. We walked in and I was still concerned. We ordered and the waitress brought the rolls. Out of this world. Then she brought the salad. The Italian dressing was the best I have ever had. We bought some to take home. Everyone enjoyed all their meals. I got dessert, which I never get. The peach pie was one of the best. Everything was homemade. If you are driving between Buffalo and the PA line you must stop. read more

COVID-19 review: despite the virus whacking everything out, this place was awesome!! Solid Italian food with some local Lake Erie fish dishes thrown in. Ordered takeout of course and it was ready in no time at all. Friendly folks on the phone, and the young man that was the contact point for pick up was sooo friendly. It pained me to not be able to dine in, as the ambiance was a mix of dive bar and friendly small town dining. Went here to eat with a party of 4. We were the only people in the dining room, and a few folks were at the bar in the other room. All of the meals came out at the same time. My dad's spaghetti and meatballs were cold as soon as he took a bite, and none of the staff came into the dining room for him to notify until after the other 3 of us were finished with our entire meals. The waitress brought out the lady who owned the place. This lady was unapologetic and wouldn't even provide even a partial refund. Disappointing that my family couldn't enjoy a meal together. The other 3 of us who did have warm meals were not impresssed. Food gets 2/5, service is 0/5 because of the owner's lack of consideration, as well as having the place understaffed to the point where no staff even stepped into the dining room throughout the entirety off our meal. I rarely give places a bad rating because I've worked in the food industry and understand the struggles, but this place... stay away. read more

This was the second time here. First time we sat in the bar area and ate sandwiches with sweet potato fries, both were awesome. This time I had the Italian combo, spaghetti and lasagna. Both were awesome home made and not out of a can. My kids had meatball floats, yes meatball floats. The sauce here is a family recipe and is sweet, I really liked it. Minga minga the food was good. and the soup and salad bar brought me back to the ole country kinda... well their meatballs did. I didn't see French onion soup on the list but that's ok I didn't need it since I ate like a true king with ordering the chicken parm. it was true Italy. when I left people from the streets shouted king Justin king Justin all hail king Justin. then I realized it was my family yelling at me to hurry up and get in the car.... the fantasy of being a ruler was over however my belly was filled with the riches. totally coming back here again. it was a perfect place to finish a wine tour at. the food seemed to pair well with the gallons of wine I was "forced" to consume. Wasn't sure what to expect but on the way home to buffalo we stopped in for dinner. I had the chicken parm with spaghetti. It was very good the portion size was just right not too big. For dessert I requested a root beer float which wasnt ont he menue but since root beer was and vanilla ice cream was they accomadated my request. It was the perfect end to a good meal and a great trip to bemus point. Dont let the exterior or interior scare you away. The decor is definitely dated but the place was packed and after tasting the food I can understand why. read more

I had the salad bar and the greens were fresh and everything was great. my boyfriends mom got eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti and meatballs. spaghetti was cooked perfectly the eggplant was wonderful and the meatballs had a kick to them which made them delicious. his dad got chicken parmigiana with spaghetti and yet again SO GOOD!! my boyfriend got the Bambino cheese pizza. so frickin wonderful. the dough was so fluffy and the cheese tasted so good and the sauce was great. definitely recommend for family's if they want a DELICIOUS dinner. totally going back tomorrow with the whole family. and to mention our waitress, Lisa, was so nice and generous and actually talked to us. five stars read more
