Yum! Super thin crust no burnt pieces like previous coal pizza. Had the polpetta which has meatball, caramelized onion and ricotta with mozzarella. Was fantastic!!! Had a couple drinks too, the bartender quirky nice and I would go back to see her. The drink not so fabulous but she offered to make again we just chose to go with what we had. Loved our overall experience here! We ordered two appetizers, the antipasto board and the lemon garlic wings. (The antipasto was decent but we probably wouldn't order it again only because it felt like the offerings were plucked right off their pizza prep line & nothing different.) But the wings were fantastic. We also ordered a few cocktails. I got the Jack's Coal Fired Peach Lemonade and the rosé sangria. The lemonade is supposed to come with coal fired peaches but they ran out. So my only tiny gripe would be that I wish the bartender had given me the option to order something else instead of serving it up missing the featured namesake ingredient. (Our server did insist that it was still good without the peaches and she wasn't wrong - it was decent & I happily slurped it up.) The rosè sangria was very good! We ordered two coal fired pizzas - the Salsiccia (sausage, broccoli rabe, ricotta) & the White Clam (with bechamel, garlic, bacon) - I loved the Salsiccia and I enjoyed the White Clam but all of us definitely tasted less clam and more bacon with that one. We also ordered the Foragers wood fired pizza. It had a nice array of wild mushrooms, caramelized onions, gruyere and truffle oil. My friend who normally hates mushrooms ended up loving this pizza the most. Personally I love the thinner, crisper crust of the coal fired pizzas the best! My son ordered the spaghetti & meatball meal from the kids menu. His meal was awesome and I definitely want to try their pasta dish the next time we're back just based on how yummy his meal looked. I got a chicken Caesar salad here. Outside of the Caesar dressing being unbelievably delicious, the salad itself was definitely on the smaller side for the price and the chicken it came with had no flavor and was dry. Their dressing was truly something out of this world. It had a deep anchovy flavor, probably the deepest I've ever tasted, and was creamy and heavenly. Do you know the old description of a dry martini? Well it's a glass of gin into which someone has whispered the word "vermouth". That also describes the pizza I ordered today, a Salsiccia. Pizza supposedly had toppings of sausage, broccoli and ricotta but you needed a magnifying glass to discover them. Add to that a flat, uninspiring tomato sauce and airy, seemingly salt free dough and you get a "do not recommend." What was good? The pizza wasn't charred, the little bit of ricotta was delicious, and it cost only $18 for a large...a price you don't see anymore if you buy a good pizza. That's it. My recommendation? Eat pizza less often and pay the extra $10 for Frank Pepe's. read more

Didn't even know this place was here! Open and spacious, they have really cute chairs and quite a few tvs. We got a coal fired pizza with 3 toppings. The pizza was thin crust and crunchy and not at all soggy considering all the toppings. The sauce was my favorite part, siper fresh and not at all scidic. We had roasted cauliflower as an app. It was served in an amazing cheese sauce. They have a huge beer list and the wine i had was great as well. Ill definitely come back! read more

If you're looking for pizza with lots of cheese and sauce, don't bother with Jack's. The cheese is sparse and inconsistent. Same goes for crispy crust; if you like it, don't get it here because it's soggy like a sponge. Hold a piece of crust in your hand and it will wilt over like a dead flower. They got heck of a nerve even calling it 'crust.' Very disappointing, though, typical of what I've come to expect from pizza around here. Best thing here is that it is actually thin which is the reason for two stars. I'll never return, though. read more

Jack's has an excellent flavor in both their food and their atmosphere. Prompt service, clean space, excellent food. We always sit at the bar because the bartenders are professional yet still really fun. Their pizza is creative and exquisite - the flavors in the West Coast pizza are worth every second of digestion. They opened up right next to Temazcal, (which has seen better days) so we are happy to find an excellent pizza joint that produces amazing service, food, and atmosphere. Just went this Sunday evening for a quick dinner. It quickly became obvious that there was only one server in the place. We did notice that there were 2-3 men working there who had on button-down shirts and ties. One was putting pizza boxes together. Who knows what the others were doing. We also noticed we were the only people of color in the place. After waiting nearly 20 minutes and preparing to leave, the server came over. We ordered drinks. When the drinks arrived we asked for salad as a starter and also provided entree order. All of our food came at the same time. As we were eating, tables next to us had new guests that arrived. Within mere moments, one table had their salad and, after they finished the salad, their food was brought out. The other tables were also promptly served all food and beverages. How do I know this? The server never came back to check on us or bring us the check. We finally had to get up and go to the cash register to pay. It is understandable that many restaurants have had staffing issues, but this somehow seemed different. The loud and clear message we received was: we don't want you here. Portnoy is out of his mind. Checked this place out after seeing his review. He called it "The best chain pizza" he's ever had. Hard disagree, this chain pizza already exists. Papa Gino's. Got a classic cheese pie...identical taste to papa Gino's sans proper oven. Don't get me wrong, the coal fired proper pizza oven does elevate it slightly over PGs but the taste is identical. Take an uncooked PGs pizza and toss it in thier oven...same end product. That's not an insult either, I LOVE papa Gino's pizza. The hype from One Bite doesn't live up though. It's no where near a New Haven Pie(I'm a southern Connecticut state alum) I know my New Haven pizza. On the pizza alone, I'd give it 4 stars but it lost a further star for me because of the kitchen. They share a kitchen between two restaurants and it causes service to be painfully slow despite having a dedicated pizza oven. Took about 45-50 minutes to get a plain cheese pizza with both restaurants at about ~50% seated capacity. A pizza cooks in about 5-7 minutes in a 5-600 degree oven. With no rush happening no reason it should have taken nearly an hour for 1 pie. Slightly above average pizza, good table service, slow kitchen. Placards on the table say happy hour 1/2 off pizza and apps 10pm to close. That would be the only reason I'll go back. At half price I see a great value for the quality of food. read more

Ok. Only been open a month some kinks need to be worked out. Service was awesome. Lovely atmosphere. I had the chicken parm, an old standby and it was super, sauce was very tasty. My wife had the meatball app and it was just the opposite; meatballs were very bland and the sauce was not as good as was the sauce with the parm. Tons of beers to pick from, local Crafts and national beers. Wine list was sufficient. I would be happy to come again in a few months after they get the kinks out. read more

We were greeted at our table by Brendan who promptly took our drink order along with our appetizer order. The drinks and food came out fairly quickly. We then placed our food order which also came out fairly quickly. We got the chicken wings for appetizers, they were delicious! We got a few different salads and pizzas all delicious! We cleaned our plates. We were all full but decided to get desert. The fudge brownie with ice cream was really good. Brendan did a great job throughout the night getting us our food and drinks. Went here for lunch during the week and it is located near Wayside Commons in Burlington. Ordered standard pepperoni large and it was ok, came out bubbling burnt in most areas of the crust and it was sort of bland, nothing to write home about. Service here was lacking a bit due to the lunch crowd and we ordered dessert and they sort of forgot about us. Prices are moderate to a bit high for the amount of food you receive. I ordered via Uber Eats and they messed up my order. Despite refusing the unbelievable offer, Pete, the manager, made me new pizzas and drove them to my house himself! I have never had such amazing customer service!! It would be one thing if the pizzas weren't good or worth it, but as an added bonus, this was our first time eating at Jack's and my family (as something fun to do during quarantine) were doing a pizza tasting (ordered from multiple restaurants) and Jack's was the favorite of 4/5 of us. We tend to like coal or wood-fired pizza or new york pizza, and not fast-food pizza. We ordered the Margherita and Carnivore. My teenage son picked another place only because the pizza we ordered from the other place was hawaiian. Next time we'll order the hawaiian to see what he picks. Caesar salad: excellent. Coal-fired pizza: excellent. Wood-fired pizza: a little too close to Bertucci's. Spaghetti and meatballs: crazy thick noodles. Spaghetti squash appetizer: failure.
