It's a small shop and they have an ice cream shop next to them. We had high expectations and their menu sounded good but the pizzas were disappointing. The flavors were off and the wait was long and there was no where to sit as the small amount of tables present were all taken up. The staff were all pleasant and the facility was clean. We got takeout from Cals on a Saturday - first off, the woman on the phone was great. We ordered the sausage rabe with fusilli, she was elated that we were getting that pasta with it (SAME). Dish was great, and came with homemade bread that was perfectly soft and flavorful. I got the buffalo chicken wrap plus pickles, it was PACKED with buff chick, the wrap was overflowing. I wish the wrap had a bit more integrity as I ended up spooning most of the toppings into my mouth, but this will definitely be a regular spot for us. This is the best pizza place around. Huge menu and always friendly service from the people running the registers. For lunch, they usually have a cheese pizza and a pepperoni + 3 types of Sicilian pizza available for slices. Both of which are actually 2 slices (1/4 of a pizza). They also have a rotating type of arinchini available and recently egg rolls. Longer wait times on busy nights should be expected, especially when ordering pizzas. This is the gold standard for pizzas, salads, subs, pasta and apps in the area. Overall, the menu prices are a good amount higher than other places you would find in the area. But, you pay for quality and Cal's definitely delivers on that front. read more

Very disappointed. The pictures and reviews looked great, even a friend said it was one of the better spots, albeit on the higher end in terms of cost. With all of these positives we thought it would be a good idea to order food for a group of friends and their kids and ordered a plethora of pizza, wings, fries, and tenders. I've never seen kids not eat pizza when it is fresh and hot. I'm not sure what it was but the taste was off about all the pizzas. We ordered the caramelized sausage Sicilian, a large cheese and large veggie. There was no shortage of toppings but something missed the mark. Unlike the steaming in the box pizza, the wings were cold. The flavors were solid but the temp or lack thereof was frustrating. The tenders were borderline nuggets. I wish I took a picture, they looked like chicken nuggets with a tail. Obviously the kids didn't mind. The only positive comment was for the fries. read more

I've come back to Cal's a few times and needed to update my review. For my first order, I must not have chosen the right item for me. Because since then I've made my way through some other items (apps, calzones and sandwiches) and everything has been great. Not only are the portions large, stuffed with fresh ingredients it's affordable, and worth every penny. Their customer service is awesome. The Hawaiian had bacon instead of Canadian bacon for an interesting twist on a classic. The Salsiccia was covered with mozzarella, sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions & pecorino romano. I actually love the place and rave about it however we ordered a catering order a year ago of chicken Marsala and got a whole half tray of chicken sauce mushrooms and salami. This year we did the same thing but got a full tray. This time it came with almost no chicken and all pasta. I was so confused. There was probably only 1lb of chicken in there max. I've got takeout before. Today we dined there. It was a nice night, so we ate at a picnic table outside. I tried the steaktip Greek salad. It was one the best I've had. Loads of steak and feta. My friends and I had high hopes for Cal's Brick Oven Pizza, especially since I was craving a calzone. We ordered a simple pepperoni and mozzarella calzone. While the calzone was HUGE, it fell short on flavor. The marinara sauce and the calzone crust lacked flavor. I don't even think the calzone crust had any seasoning to be honest. Additionally, the pepperoni was unevenly distributed, leaving some slices with an abundance while others had none at all. Despite the generous size of the calzone, its lack of flavor was disappointing, especially after a long wait (at least it was made fresh?). I doubt I'll return, as I believe I can find better calzones elsewhere. Although the price was reasonable considering the portion size, the flavor just wasn't there. As for the ambiance, it was average, as expected from a standard pizza joint. Being from Western New York and eating buffalo chicken wings my entire life I decided to try this place. I'm just 10 minutes away in town for work for the week. Small cheese and pepperoni pizza and 10 wings done Buffalo style we're presented 20 minutes after I ordered. The service was quick and friendly. The pizza was thin New York City style minus the excess grease and was just fine. The wings were fried in oil as usual and then I believe grilled for a couple minutes because they had a nice char on them. They were adequate. Probably good for Eastern Massachusetts. I've had better. I've had worse, but I'm not complaining. I had a choice of blue cheese or ranch. Of course I took the blue cheese and it was quite good. My first visit to Cal's was Saturday. It was a busy lunch time crowd but things worked out great! I visited with my HS aged daughter. We ordered and ate in the dining room. My sub was awesome....grilled chicken was cooked perfectly and served on a fresh roll. My daughter got a buffalo wrap, which she raved about. We split an order of french fries, which were delivered to our table before our sandwiches arrived. The price was approx. $35 for two. It was a great new stop for us! We enjoyed the food and the location. Sicilian pizza was offered by the slice, which I will be back for another time! (Note: they are closed on Monday's) We did not try the ice cream, which was attached to Cal's but we will sometime before winter. read more

I'm on the road again and needed to fill my pizza craving with a new place. I had Cal's Brick Oven Pizza Company bookmarked and I was close by so figured, why not. They have a huge menu with pizza (red, white, and Sicilian), calzones, subs, wraps, salads, pasta, burgers, and wings. The restaurant is spacious for a pizza place with a few tables if you want to eat there. While I was there most of the business was take out. I ordered a small cheese pizza and a small order of gold fever wings. The order came out in under 15 min. I knew I wanted to try the wings based on a picture and a review I read. The wings are cooked in the oven, no gross soggy breading on these babies. The wings were so tender and juicy the meat easily pulled off the bone. The gold sauce was delicious and there was just the right amount. They give you the choice of blue cheese or ranch, I went with the obvious choice, blue cheese. The pizza was great, 7.2 out of 10. I was happy that the small pizza had the feel of a large. Many times you order a small and it just feels and tastes like it was made different. This is not the case at Cal's. Maybe a little too much cheese but it had good flavor. I liked the sauce and the crust was crisp on the outside a chewy on the inside. This place is definitely worth a try and next time I might save some for my family. If you go to Cal's the wings are must. read more

I would actually give 4 1/2 stars. Very good pizza. I'm not one for loading a pizza with tons of stuff, so I tried the 12" Margarita. The fresh mozz and San Marzano tomatoes make all the difference. Big plus that it's neither too oily nor too salty...just right. The crust is light and crisp -- perhaps a slight bit sweet. Finally tried this place after months of my coworkers raving about them. My husband and I went to Cal's brick oven on a Friday night to try a few of their items. We got their Stella's pizza, garlic parm wings, and Cajun fries. They did not disappoint. One of the best pizzas/ food I've had in a while! I'm a very picky person about my pizzas and cals did so well. The times for pick up was a little long but I don't blame the wait to be completely honest. They are amazing. Had the jerk wings and pepperoni pizza. This place is definitely close to a 4.5. Pizza is crispy with a lite char. Dough is good but could use some salt. The cheese and pepperoni were good quality. They seem to do a big takeout business. The staff is very friendly, fast, and efficient. This has been true each time I've eaten there. Recently, I stopped in for lunch--an Italian sub and Cajun fries. The sub was good with a nice roll and excellent quality cold cuts. And the price wasn't too bad ($12). The fries were fabulous. They were well cooked, crunchy, and had plenty of hot Cajun seasoning. They were some of the best fries I've ever eaten (assuming you like spicy).
