Excellent classic American diner through and through. Cozy family atmosphere with very kind and welcoming staff. Food was all delish - we had the meat lovers omelette and the cinnamon French toast. The coffee is also top notch. Do not skip this hidden gem!

We go to Jacks for as our go to. They always treat us kind and run a great business. Their food is on point. We have never left disappointed or hungry :)

This was my first time here. I was looking for something with a little bit of a drive from my place and the reviews look good. The food was delicious. My friend and I both ordered the country restaurant scrambler. Hi then ordered one slice of the cinnamon French toast, which was so good. Our our waitress was super friendly and funny. We definitely will be going back there. There are several things on the menu I want to try. Their specials look good as well. The place was cute and there seemed to be plenty of space.

We love Jacks! This weekend's special was mimosa French toast and it was so good we got take out 2 days in a row. The toast was absolutely soaked with flavor, I can't completely identify it but can tell you that I'd go broke if she had it on special every weekend! Definitely give Jacks a try, it's the best breakfast in Haddam!

This is a half-serving of the Parisian Benedict! We shared and were fully satisfied!!!

Basic accommodations, no frills, but the food is wonderful, service was great, and the coffee was LOVELY!!! If you are looking for instagram -worthy food, this isn't your spot. If you want good food that sticks to your ribs, come on in! Other reviewers have noted service issues, knowing how our world functions now this is not a surprise. Service is dependent on the people who want to work. We had a lovely staff that was attentive to our needs! We will be back!

Her friendliness and charm are definitely a big selling point. Top tier. There is inside table and counter seating, and covered outside seating as well. The space is appropriate for the type of restaurant, but it's more functional than fancy. Deb's is open for breakfast and lunch. I ordered sausage gravy and biscuits, over medium eggs and spicy home fries. The food was well executed. The eggs had a bit of run as I like, but they were over medium as ordered. The biscuits were solid. The gravy had big chunks of tasty sausage. The home fries were tasty. It says a l lot that I only planned to eat half of the food, but I couldn't stop eating it. If you're interested in an old school, country-style breakfast or lunch served by people who make you feel welcome, Deb's is a place to check out. 4.5 Stars

Brewed Awakening stood out as having a good rating and being close to my route. Brewed Awakening does not present as a craft coffee shop focused on bean origins and things like that. It's a small, old school coffee shop, with limited inside place to sit and stand. The space is not fancy. It's more functional. But I'll tell you something . . . almost every usable inch of that space was occupied by people who seemed like long time regulars. Maybe like 5 to 6 people, but people who were happy to be there. The coffee was reasonably priced. The food, included hot dogs, donuts, breakfast sandwiches, classic sandwiches. Also reasonably priced by modern standards. There seems to be a New York connection to the shop because they use Nathan's Hot Dogs and the donuts on the counter came from New York. The woman who I assume was an owner was the only person working. She was very nice and helpful. I suspect she's a reason why they have a loyal customer base. I thought about ordering a hot dog at 8 a.m., but I had food plans in Mystic. I just ordered a Black Iced Coffee. The ice cubes were that thin round tube style with holes on the top and bottom, that you used to see a lot in restaurant fountain soda. The iced coffee itself was about average. If I just wanted a high end black iced coffee, I probably wouldn't return. I would definitely return to check out their reasonably priced food in warmer months when you can sit outside. In any event, if you're looking for a place with a lot of character, Brewed Awakening would be a good choice. It's close to the Route 9 Exit that you take on your way to the Clinton Outlets. 3.5 Stars

I do wish there were more signs, as both the parking lot and the entrance felt a bit vague and easy to miss. Once we finally found our way inside, we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere reminded me of another local tavern. Staffed by friendly people. The food was good, and the overall experience was enjoyable. My only disappointment was the lack of information about the history of the establishment. There is a lot of marketing that references its connection to a jailhouse on the menu, but very little information is actually shared within the tavern itself. I found myself wanting to learn more about the story behind the place. I also think it would be fun to add a photo-op area--perhaps even outdoors--with a set of mock jail bars where guests could take pictures. It would fit the theme and add a memorable touch. The tavern itself is fairly small, so I can imagine it gets quite crowded during busy times. Overall, it's definitely worth checking out.

I don't feel bad saying your service could be better because I've read a lot of reviews about that and last night. A few of your servers could've done a lot better. I don't need to be treated rude to my friends who are not even from around here. Don't even wanna go back we kept us here was your food is good and the band don't tell Lisa is the reason we came. You know what you need friendly servers some seem annoyed when we call for help to get a drink etc.... Why should we flag people down when we're sitting there? Shouldn't they come over and say do you want another drink or are you ready to order? I think 20 minutes is ridiculous to wait to order food once we have a drink!! So we eventually got moved to a table and it wasn't 10 minutes. It was 45 minutes, but that was fine. We ended up eating at the bar. We then moved to our table. I'm not even gonna get into that server. He seemed annoyed that we had already got our drinks and food at the bar. We are waiting for another friend to come and she didn't want anything to eat because she was just coming by to say hi and listen to the band she already ate and she was late. It was close to 9 o'clock when she got there. So the food was delicious that's why I gave it two stars but if I had to, I would give the Service one when you have a big patio like that you should have a better organized. We go out all the time you should have a couple of those front tables move back more so people can dance you know you're gonna have a big crowd with that band. Don't tell Lisa maybe plan better.
