This is how we received our food. I had to purchase the side against the tray so the food wouldn't slide in each other.

How you serve the food! If you look at our review, our plates are warped! Food was sliding in each other! Worst we've ever had served from anywhere. Pitiful.

Cookie Dough Ice Cream Milkshake

A friend of ours suggested we meet at Jacks for milkshakes. The last time I visited a Jacks restaurant was at the Eastwood Mall location when I was a little kid with my mom. I had never been to the Homewood location, so I thought this might be a nostalgic trip down memory lane. I was happily surprised that they offer old-fashioned milkshakes that are actually hand-dipped, hand-mixed and made with actual ice cream. The flavor I chose was a regular Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough milk shake which was the perfect size for me and delicious. The other flavors they offer are Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Cookies & Cream, Moose Tracks and Smokey Mountain Fudge.

3 piece chicken tenders and fries

I don't normally come to Jack's, but this Jack's in Homewood is pretty decent. The inside is nice and actually gives off a more cabin like feel which seems more inviting than your standard fast food restaurant. I picked up my order to go of chicken fingers and fries. My food was cold by the time I had a chance to eat it, but 30 seconds in the microwave solved it! No soggy fries so I think I saved them in time. The chicken was just okay, not the biggest chicken tenders but not the worst either. The cashier was nice but I was not given ketchup, mustard, nor my receipt so little things like that should have gone smoother in my opinion.

I had to change my review to one star because I came here during breakfast this morning and there was a long line in the drive-through. So I opted to go inside thinking that'll be quicker. Boy was I wrong. I looked around and there was a wait in the inside as well. I approached the counter and the cashier turned around and said I'll be right with you. I stood at the counter for about five minutes looking around trying to figure out what was going on. A line began to form behind me. The cashier continued to get orders and put them on trays without acknowledging any of us as the line began to grow longer and longer. taking anyone else's order. Finally after about five minutes I asked her, excuse me are you taking orders?? Finally she said "may I take your order"?, but didn't seem to happy to be doing so. I ordered a chicken biscuit. Just one chicken biscuit that's it! I waited 10 minutes for me to get that one chicken biscuit. As I waited l, starting talking with the other customers. One was telling me how she observed the drive-thru moving quicker than the inside. Another was saying how this was store # 1 and how they should be an example for other stores.... The only good thing is, that the biscuit was hot....but other than that the wait time was ridiculous! Jack's breakfast is good, but the customer service isn't. If you're looking for a place to grab a quick bite for breakfast, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

Drive thru service could be better. Long wait time and the worker for the drive thru was not friendly.

Wow! This burger joint is amazing and better than Jack Browns imo…read more We ordered the cowgirl - American cheese, horseradish aioli, bacon, 2 waygu beef patties. Absolutely delicious and crave worthy. The burger was juicy and flavorful everything I wanted. The bun was toasted to perfection. My husband got the regular hand cut fries and I got the sweet potato fries. Literally the best SP fries I've ever had they were crispy and perfect balance of salty sweet. Yum! I wish we had one in HSV guess I'll have to drive back just for the burgers lol. They also serve different styles of hotdogs and fried pies for dessert. They have a few beer options and fountain drinks. Our food came out quickly and the whole place had a funky cool vibe.

They have a wide variety of specialty burgers, hot dogs, and sides, and I feel that I could try something new every time I come here. I chose to order the Vulcan hot dog, named after an infamous monument of Birmingham. I love how they have so many different types of hot dogs with varying toppings to make your order truly personalized. I chose the spicy option with jalapeños and it did not disappoint! Also, these are the best fries I have had in Birmingham if you are looking for a plant-based option here. When I ordered, I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome. She told me it would be right out, and my order was given to me within 5 minutes. Besides the great food, the ambience is the best part of this place! There is an upstairs area with additional seating, and the interior of the restaurant is covered with vintage, American decor. The walls and decorations really sell the All-American vibe associated with burgers and hot dogs. If you are looking for a new, local burger spot that feels like home this is a great option!

Limited menu, which is not a bad thing. Pick your "thing" and do it well and you will succeed. We chose the cheeseburger and the craft burger with tater tots and seasoned fries. We grabbed a drink and a high top table while we waited. They seemed fairly busy for a Thursday evening but they moved quickly and served efficiently. After about 10 minutes our order was brought to our table. Season fries had garlic and Parmesan. Hit and crispy, they were excellent. Burgers were juicy and well seasoned. Veggies were fresh and tasty. Craft sauce was mayo based and had a nice flavor. Tater tots were fresh and hot. Overall the meal was excellent! Loved the burger. Staff were helpful and friendly. Highly recommend, not overpriced like most specialty burger restaurants. Will be back!

Located across from Planet Fitness and beside Davenport's Pizza, they share a fun common area with Taco Mama and Paneras. There's plenty of tables outside with artificial tuff and kids toys for entertainment. There's also comfortable indoor seating if you want to keep away from the outside heat or cold. The tables are bare so you have to head to the cleanup kiosk by the entrance to get your napkins, cutlery, cups of ketchup and packets of mustard. In another corner is a large upright cooler that houses the bottled water and canned drinks. Finally there's a large counter to place and pick up your order with a large viewable kitchen directly behind. The Standard is owned by a Korean couple, Young Shin and Kookie Kim. This the second Standard with the first being in the Pizitz Food Hall downtown across from the McWane Center. They make their beef fresh from scratch every morning and want to be "honest" with their food. Being newly open, the dining room is immaculate. There are not many decorations on the walls as two walls of their dining room are clear glass which makes the dining room look much bigger and brighter. Their menu is the definition of simplicity. 3 categories: Under Burger & Sandwiches they have: Cheeseburger, Black Bean Veggie Burger, Double Bacon Cheeseburger, Patty Melt, Fried Bologna, Pilly Cheesesteak & Chicken sandwich. Under Hot Dogs: Birmingham Dog, Grilled Cheese & Plain Dog. Under Add-Ons: Fried Egg, Bacon, Smashed Avocado, Pickled Jalapenos, Grilled Onions, Sauerkraut, etc. Paul and Linh both got a Cheeseburger. It looks Yuge and must've been good because they both finished it. Matthew got the Patty melt. It was also big with 2 burger patties mashed together between 2 buttered slices of bread, pimento cheese and onions. Tammy tried the Philly cheesesteak. The slices of meat were smoothered with white american cheese, grilled onions and drizzled with garlic aoli. It was pretty good. I tried their Chicken sandwich. My piece of chicken was Yuge! It was nicely breaded and fried. It's nice when the chicken is larger than the buns which were buttered and lightly toasted. With the mayo and pickles, it was one of the better chicken sandwiches I've eaten. Finally we all shared a large order of their tater tots. I love tater tots and these were hot out of the fryer Yom Yom good! A prickly afterthought was the fact they add a 3.5% non-cash fee. So if you're paying with anything other than cash, you will be billed an additional 3.5%. So for my total of $34.50, my fee was $1.21. No big deal. So if you're planning a date night, stop by The Standard for a quick bite then walk ove to the AMC for a nice movie. Welcome to Vestavia, Standard.
