I also had their chef's favorite, the Screamin Demon which is a fried chicken sandwich with seasoned fries with ranch. I started with the fries and immediately, the ranch was nice and savory along with the fries being crispy. So we got the Low Country Skillet and Huevos Rancheros and oh man... they were SO GOOD. The low country skillet comes with a side bread of your choice and we chose the biscuit which I'm so glad we did. The biscuit was so soft and you get to choose from an assortment of jam, which tasted so good with the biscuit. I just felt like it was bursting with flavor and so savory. The huevos rancheros were really good and satisfying. Our waitress suggested that for the egg we choose Sunny side up so that you can pop the yolk and it will bleed into the rest of the dish. It did not disappoint! The inside of the restaurant was super cool. I loved the vibe. It's actually a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. There are two floors. I actually felt like upstairs felt very open with the big windows. The people working there are super nice. It had so many layers, and the tomato added the perfect balance, preventing it from being too salty or overpowered by the bacon. I've actually developed a newfound love for tomato gravy. We had been talking about coming here for a while now, it's just normally out of the way on the weekends plus hangry kiddos wanting food quickly means we haven't had a chance yet. This place has a really cool decor inside. There is a generous bar area with booths and along U-shaped bar. The other half is a dining area with some very colorful paintings of the dishes. You can find on their menu. I came here in the morning after a very long evening of working the entire night before. Sat down right after it opened and ordered the bacon bloody Mary along with the tocino eggs Benedict. Also got coffee. Okay, if you are craving eggs benedict, you will be disappointed. The meat is essentially a bbq-southern-style version, which wasn't bad, but did not compliment the hollindaise, and rather clashed with the flavor. Service was good, and since I was there so early, there were next to no one else at the restaurant. It is a cute place, as I said before! But...well, I am speaking more about the decor and atmosphere than the food so...you get the idea. I love visiting here. It is my mom and I's breakfast spot to go when we want to have brunch or breakfast together. My last visit, I got steak and egg. The steak was perfectly cooked to my instruction. I always worry about overdone steak. But this as done right. My mom enjoyed her egg white omelette and the biscuits were also fluffy and wasn't dry. This has been on my list of brunches I've wanted to try for quite some time. I finally got to try it last weekend with some friends. This is a convenient location for me in Homewood and is surrounded by all the cute shops in Homewood. I expected a wait on a Saturday morning, and we did have a 25 minute wait but it wasn't too bad at all as we could shop around while we waited. They have both upstairs and downstairs seating which was kind of neat as most restaurants around here are only one level. We sat upstairs facing the window so that was kind of cool. I saw several menu options I wanted to try. It was so hard choosing what I wanted! I'm a sucker for both skillet scrambles and avocado toast so I was torn among those options. It just means I'll have to come back! I ended up going with the Big Bad Breakfast Skillet and a side of whole wheat toast. There were eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, onions, potato, and cheddar in it. From the time I walked in the door and was greeted by the energetic, smiling faces at the door until I left I didn't have to ask for anything! After spending what seemed like 30 minutes looking at other Elite member reviews of this place I finally settled on a couple entrees. The first was The Mother of all biscuits! The biscuit was hot, fresh, fluffy which was the perfect bed for the chicken tenders and yummy pool of sausage gravy. There was also a generous amount of cheddar cheese on top. I give this dish an 8 out of 10. If the tenders were a chicken breast, then I would have given it a 10. The flavor was a 9 out of 10 though. The iced tea was fresh, and I was offered one to go which I gladly accepted. The other entree I chose was the Chicken biscuit. I will give this one a 6 out of 10. The biscuit was still warm, fresh and delicious, but the Chicken breast was fried and there was just a slice of cheddar cheese on top. They could have easily brined the chicken and added some homemade pickles and a cranberry relish?!?! I mean anything besides a boring piece of chicken. The staff were super friendly and attentive so I will definitely be back. The ambiance was very loud though because of the kitchen being directly behind the bar, also it was a very cold day yesterday and I sat at the bar, every time the front door opened I was in the freezer. The eggs were over easy, just like I like em. I love a good hash and these were nice and crispy. I went with the grapefruit as a side in an attempt to be healthy lol, but it was broiled and actually quite tasty. Service was nice and friendly and even though there was a crowd everyone was in good spirits, likely due to their full bellies. Sometimes I'll come sit at the bar...or maybe it's just a countertop since they don't sell alcohol.
