We were seated promptly in a large booth with our three grandkids. Drinks were brought quickly and the owner brought crayons and paper for the kids. Ordered burger and onion rings, my wife had a burger with tater tots. Grand kids had corn dogs and fries. Food took a few minutes to make it to the table but they were fairly busy. Burgers were a little dry. Tater tots and onion rings were typical frozen product but cooked fresh to order. Girls love their corn dogs. Staff was friend and helpful. But at $8-9 for burger, fries and a drink, hard to complain. We were able to feed 3 adults and three kids for less than $45. It was easy and you can even make modifications to your order, which is great! The website said my food wouldn't be ready till 1:45 (I think I ordered ~1:15 or so) but we pulled up at about 1:35 and it was waiting for me! I walked right up to the window and a friendly employee asked if I had an online order. I agreed and confirmed my name and the food was mine! Easy peasy and it was still super hot and not at all soggy. I ordered the Bella burger, which is a burger with mushrooms, Swiss, garlic mayo, and fried onion strings, though I asked for no onion strings on mine. I got a side of French fries and a cup of ranch for dipping. My order was made correctly. The fries were pretty basic but good -- hot, crispy, adequately salted. The ranch was delicious ranch and perfect for dipping. Unfortunately one of my fries did have a small, straight, dark hair attached to it. Is it easy to get to? No, because it's a restaurant in a CAVE. Is it gourmet food? No, because it's a restaurant IN A CAVE. Does it have a fancy wine list and white tablecloths? No, because IT'S A RESTAURANT IN A CAVE. Is it family friendly? Uh, yeah... as long as your family is cool, like mine. Is the food good? Yes, actually. Is it super cool? Yes, because it's a frickin' restaurant in a cave! Look, the bottom line is this- the food is good, the service is good but the ambience is the coolest part. Once you find it among the beautiful rural Alabama scenery, you park your car and you wait at the little pavilion. A couple of minutes will go by and a truck will come to pick you up and take you on the short ride down to the cave. It's a fun ride, a beautiful place and there's good food to eat. One thing is for certain- going to the Rattlesnake Saloon will become a core memory for your kids and your family.
