I saw a bad review from someone else years ago and it triggered me to post this. I was actually a bit mortified by the post as it was the most unprofessional review and so far from the truth. Actually Violet still goes to US Canine for boarding every time we go out of town and I won't take her anywhere else. Violet actually went to another training facility (one I will not name) and she came out worse than when she went in. Violet is a pit bull and as most people are aware pit bulls get a really bad wrap. They just need a little proper training and some TLC (as with any animal) and that's exactly what US Canine did. She actually did have to go through the intense two week training for extreme behavioral issues (trained by Angie) and she came back a completely different dog! I love Violet so much and if it wasn't for US Canine we would have had to give her up. She has become such an important part of my family and I wouldn't have done anything differently. In fact, my next dog will be going there as well and I live 20 miles away! Thank you US Canine (and thanks for letting me review you so I can post a pic of my doggie )

We tried 3 different in-home trainers over a year and saw little to no difference. At one point one of these people even told us our dog would need to be on anxiety medication the rest of his life. Then, one of the agencies suggested we try US Canine before surrendering our pup. Our dog spent 3 weeks at US Canine and came home the loving, respectful, and sweet dog we knew he could be (no medication necessary!). It has now been 8 months and I am so thankful to US Canine for giving us a second chance with our dog! Everyone at US Canine cares about your dog and your family and they make a concerted effort to help you understand the changes you need to make for your dog to be successful. They are always available for questions and concerns so that your success can continue longterm. I now have confidence with my dog and know exactly what to do to redirect him from minor issues and continue his learning. US Canine is THE BEST!

After the exam, I was told straight up that my dog didn't need dental cleaning, so I could not book the service. I decided to purchase heartworm preventatives using their online pharmacy, but after EIGHT attempts in a month to get the medication, the order was rejected EVERY SINGLE TIME by their veterinarian. Each time the reason was that there was a prescription on file already so they could not approve an order request, but there WAS no prescription on file to begin with. All I can assume is that Pawproject wants my dog to get heartworm infection and die. I hate Pawproject and will report them to the Georgia Board of Veterinary Medicine. Don't go there.

The only valid charge should be for the Bordetella vaccine. This is flat out gouging !! It's frustrating to see an organization that promotes compassion and care fail to extend those values to the people who support and rely on them. Don't patronize, use your Vet for $4 more . Yelp needs negative numbers for reviews- this would definitely be a -1 rating .

I would recommend AAHS to anyone looking for a new pet, whether it be a cat, dog or small animal. They really take the time to make sure you get paired with the right pet; they use the ASPCA's Meet Your Match Program to help with this pairing, plus the adoption counselors really know all the animals so well that they can steer you to the right animal for you! All adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, updated vaccines, a whole adoption packet to take home, collar, etc. plus lifetime advice and assistance from the staff. They have so many services available in addition to adoptions, too! They have monthly Pet Care Clinics with low cost vaccines, flea treatments, microchips and nail trims; their Spay & Neuter Center with low cost, high quality spays and neuters as well as other services at the time of surgery; and several other programs to help animals in our area.

I have a boxer with extreme anxiety when at vets or shelters and she barked nonstop while visiting Sully and they were so patient. They may have been annoyed (I was beyond exhausted with her barking) but they didn't show it. Sully has been an incredible addition and the whole process was extremely smooth. I would not hesitate to recommend them. I've seen complaints about it taking long to hear from them but people can always call and follow up. It helps to remember they are all volunteers caring for a high volume of adoptable pets and sick/ injured pets.

AARF made it a really easy and rewarding experience to volunteer and they help wonderful animals find great homes. There are other rescue groups in Atlanta and they are all doing amazing work. I'm certainly not saying AARF is any better than any other rescue group because I haven't volunteered with any others but I am saying that the people at AARF rock and I really love working with them.

Fostering an animal while it finds a home is one of the best things a person can do. Animals in tiny cages where they don't get room to run and play can get issues that can take years of training and care to treat. But, give a homeless animal a temporary home while you find a permanent one and it can learn from your other pets or just get used to what it is like to have a nice home. I am still training my dog on some basic lessons, but once she's ready to teach others, I plan to foster. Check their web site if you want to foster or need a pet yourself!
