They tried to change the battery, but the watch still wouldn't work... they told me that the watch was "totaled" and beyond repair. They were the only people to have ever opened the back of this watch. I took it up to Chester's in Parma, and he immediately asked if someone else had worked on the watch before. He showed me that "whoever" tried to change the battery had ripped out a few components, actually showing me what the missing pieces were... Don Basch broke my watch, then claimed it was unfixable. Chester fixed my watch same-day, it's working again! Not giving 1 star because the storefront is nice and clean, people are friendly, and they did a good job cleaning my wife's wedding ring.

I found the "Eyeglass Doctor" online and the reviews convinced me to stop in. They assured me they could fix them and quoted me $82 w/tax. It was a bit more that I expected but still less than 10% of what new glasses cost. The only bummer was the wait. I was told three weeks at dropoff because of a backlog of repairs, but my claim check said five weeks. Since I had a backup pair to wear I decided to wait, plus I figured they must be doing good work if they're so busy. The wait was worth it - the repair was very well done and my glasses fit great again. I would absolutely use them again and you should too.

She said the store was under renovation but that I still could. I said I'd be there at 3 PM. I got to the store and knocked on the door. She and her co-worker saw me and ignored me. I knocked again and the co-worker cracks the door open and condescendingly says they're closed. I said, I know, Amanda just called me an hour ago. The co-worker protested that my statement wasn't true (!) and accused me of trying to enter the store (I absolutely did NOT). I said, please get Amanda; I see her right THERE in the back. Amanda comes and pretends not to know who I am or that she'd called me (this is a person who easily spent a half hour with me the week before choosing a ring). I have a record that she had called, an hour before. She tells me the store is closed and that I can't pick up my ring. I was in disbelief, as she clearly had amnesia or was lying for some reason. I said I'd driven a half hour and that this was ridiculous. She huffed off and went in the back and got my ring, handing it to me through the door, which she'd cracked open just far enough to stick her hand through. I asked for a receipt and she said "we don't do that--you'll get something in your email". I said I'd never shop there again and she laughingly said "that's fine!" I have never been treated in such a humiliating fashion at ANY business. I will never shop here again---such rude employees. I contemplated simply returning the ring so she'd lose her commission, but it's too much of a headache. This was my husband's present to me for my 50th birthday/25th anniversary, and the whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth.

I took my friend Katie with me in the winter because her husband works in the jewelry business and I thought she could give me some good opinions on what to get and what to steer clear of without the biased salesperson opinion. Everything started off good until the Assistant Manager came over to help me look at rings. I wanted to try on a lot of different ones because I am extremely indecisive and I asked her if she could circle the ones I want in their catalog so I could give it to my boyfriend. She was more than happy to do so, so I thought things would be great. Then little by little she kept rubbing me the wrong way. First, it was a week night so the store was pretty empty, and right away she saw this as an opportunity to work on her sales pitch. Of course right away she wants us to sign up for an account with Kay's (which I assume they get some type of commission or bonus off getting people to sign up for these) but I already have a credit account with them and she seemed annoyed that I had one already and couldn't "help her out" in her words. Then when I was showing her which rings I liked I pointed to one and she pulled it out looked at the price tag and made a weird face and proceeded to say "ohhh, I don't think you want this one" and when I asked why she said "it's around 6k" ... and... your point? I actually don't want one that high but that is not her call! She never once asked my budget, never once did I tell her what myself or my boyfriend does for a living - we both work full time and we are both still living at home so we can pay cash for our wedding and be able to afford a nice starter home easily. I was extremely offended for her to have made this comment - I could have been marrying a 50 year old attorney for all she knows! She also proceeded to keep steering me in the direction of the really cheap rings - around $500-900. The last thing that really was the final straw for me is when I asked her if all the Kay's had the same selection of rings because my boyfriend lives an hour away and we work opposite schedules so it would be more convenient for him to go to a Kay's by him instead of driving out to Aurora to see her again (and with her attitude I quite frankly didn't want him giving her a commission check for my ring!) and she replied to my question with a snippy answer of "well I just did all this work for you so he should come here". Which I get it, she did just help me out, and I probably took about 20-30 minutes of her time, but they were not busy so I wasn't keeping her from anyone else, and at the end of the day, save the attitude until I leave. It was her attitude that drove me to look elsewhere and vow to never to return to this Kay's. We ended up finding my dream ring (from Kay's) on Craig's List that a guy was selling because him and his girlfriend broke up before he popped the question!
