It took WEEKS to file our taxes, and ultimately they weren't filed until 04/15, and even that felt like pulling teeth. Getting in touch with Glynnis was very challenging-- there was no email listed, and as a teacher, I am not often able to make phone calls during the day. After weeks with no contact, I finally discovered that she had been using an Intuit platform that did not notify me when there was a request for documents or a question. Furthermore, an unknown preparer signed our taxes, which made me quite uncomfortable, given the sensitive information required to do so. However, our taxes were ultimately filed, and I thought that was that. Unfortunately, the saga does not end there. I had asked how we would need to pay our federal taxes, and was told that we would get a payment link. We did not. Eventually, we got a letter saying that we were late in paying because the DIRECT DEPOSIT information was not entered correctly. Nowhere were we asked for our bank information. But wait, there's more. We got a letter from the state of California stating that we were being audited (and we are expecting a sizable return from them, so this is unfortunate). When I reached out to let Glynnis know, I got no response. We also got a notice from the state of Indiana saying that our taxes had not been filed correctly, and thus, we now owe an alarming amount. All of this is to say that for such an expensive service-- we paid more than we have done for HR Block in the past-- we have had nothing but problems. I have never once been audited before, and I have had some pretty complex taxes. For a teacher and a military member, being this stressed about taxes and money has been simply unacceptable. Coupled with the lack of communication, and I am immeasurably frustrated.

She quickly and casually processed my return without double-checking her work. She carelessly reported more income than I had, which meant that every computation throughout the rest of the 1040 was based on the wrong figures. Plus, more income means more taxes I owe, of course. Making a mistake is one thing (and can happen), but she did Not conscientiously and thoroughly investigate that vital mistake to correct it. After repeatedly asking to speak to her supervisor or owner of the business, I can only presume that she has, so far, blocked that contact. This situation has caused a lot of unnecessary problems and costs for me and is still not resolved. If you use their service, it may be wise to doublecheck their figures.
