Excellent Pier - nice walk out
    Jenita M.

Highly recommend. Plenty of space for your own chairs and tackle equipment. Built in seating as well. I didn't smell a lot of dead fish or scales. The pier goes out pretty far but well kept. Restroom available.

The pier provided a great view of the coast line. Even if you had to pay $2 bucks to enter the pier, this is still a nice place to walk through, take in the sights or even fish. I would definitely come back to fish and hang out. There are bathrooms situated in the pier and there is ample space to fish.

It's fine here to walk around although they charge even disabled American veterans two dollars on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.. It's a long Peer, but the views are marvelous. Limited seating but so much fun!

    Lovely and free!

The Jacksonville Beach Pier reopened July 2022. It was destroyed by hurricanes Matthew and Irma, and it took six years to rebuild. I walked the pier for the first time in December and have been back several times since. It was free entry until January 2, 2023. Duval County residents and hotel guests with a valid key pay $1, and others $2. If you're fishing, the cost is $5. They also offer an annual pass. The new pier was beautiful. The wood walkway was fresh and even unlike the old one Iol. There's a covered bench about halfway to the end, as well as some picnic tables with umbrellas as you enter the pier. Tables are first come first serve at no extra charge. I've already imagined myself having lunch there. Beach Life Rentals is managing the pier. They sell snack, drinks, including coffee and hot chocolate. They also sell bait. They have a golf cart, and will deliver to you on the pier. I'm very happy with the new pier! And I am seriously considering purchasing an annual pass.

A great day in the pier. I did not go to go fishing but just to sit and relax above the sand. It was a stressful morning and my happy place did not disappoint. I sat, watched waves, listened to beach sounds, and just relaxed. They have picnic benches and umbrellas for you to sit and eat. Note there is a nominal entrance fee for the upkeep of the planking and the pier. Many fisher people and lots of 'catches'. With a constant pleasant breeze and lots of sun, I thoroughly enjoyed my happy place (anywhere near water).

In A Nutshell: -The Jacksonville Beach Pier owned by the city of JAX is a decent pier. -It's small in size, but it's perfect for fishermen. -On just a 10 minute stroll I was able to see a couple people catch some fish including a beautiful yellow pompano. -There is a snack shack at the head of the pier to purchase food/drinks. -There is also a bathroom there too. Overall, they did a really nice job of rebuilding the pier after Hurricane Matthew (2016) and Hurricane Irma (2017) damaged more than 100 feet of the original pier.

Cloudy day but wanted to check out the pier on Christmas . There's always people fishing off this massive beautiful pier. It is very relaxing and peaceful. I recommend everyone stop by there if they're in the area

A nice pier right near the parking lot. It's very big, being tall and long as it juts out into the ocean. As of May 2020 its closed and under construction. I'm sure it will look amazing once complete.

We love the pier extension for its even more incredible views! Even though the reno was a long wait, it was worth it.

Many piers are built for the purpose of providing boatless anglers access to fishing grounds that are otherwise inaccessible. But piers also attract those of us that choose not to fish, but rather just enjoy the pier for what it is. There are so many things to do here even if you don't fish like........well like most anything besides Roller Blading - Carrying Surf Boards - Riding Bicycles - Walking Pets - Napping in Sleeping Bags - Fishing with Fly Rods - Fishing with Hand Lines - Throwing Cast Nets - Shark Fishing - Running - Throwing items from the pier - Sitting on pier railings - Jumping or diving from the pier. Using Propane Gas - Drinking from or Carrying Glass Bottles or Drinking Alcohol, Shooting Skeet, Grilling, Camping, Throwing Footballs, Shooting Hoops, Bowling, Archery, Cow Tipping but other than those few items your free to do anything you like. This is an extremely long pier and it's an awesome place to visit don't miss it if your in the area.

My friends and I laid out to the left of the pier a little further out where it was less busy and it was super nice! Weather was almost 80° and we got our tan on :) Definitely not so busy on the weekdays (we went yesterday around 1pm and didn't leave til almost 430pm). After that, we threw our clothes on, met our boys, and ate at Harmonious Monks! Very nice to just walk around and soak up some sun!

Nice, clean, long beach. Excellent for long walk and all kinds of activities. There are restaurants, bars and shops nearby. The environment is pleasant and suitable for family.
