The gentleman recommended which direction to head in but didn't say how far you could travel in that direction or anything to be aware of. He also didn't say what I know, which is the one direction has quite a strong current and the other doesn't. I saw a couple who clearly had no experience paddle boarding struggle to get out onto the water. Though it's a public creek it would be nice if the company swept the route daily to pick up trash. I kayaked by several boards with nails sticking up and lots of plastic bottles.

Yes..Yes you can bribe me with beer. Lol. We decided however to contact them and we hosted our own private party with a group of friends. Classes are full with a capacity of 11 people. Alot of friends were reluctant to come because they thought for sure they would fall off but we did way better than expected. Ive done maybe 3 yoga classes my whole life and that was about 5 yrs ago so we didnt know any moves and I had never been on a paddle board before so I went into this expecting a few falls however it was easier than I thought. I did not fall! #winner Before the event there is a short tutorial 101 to watch that goes over paddling and manuevering the board that was very helpful. When I first hit the water I was really nervous that the river was going to sweep me away but that feeling quickly left me as I became a pro on the water. We paddled upstream a little to this nice "elbow" area where there were egrets and cranes and osprey just hanging out enjoying the day. We hooked all our paddleboards to an anchored rope so that we didnt float away while doing our Yoga. Our Instructor, Kate, did an amazing job at teaching us newbies how to do some beginner yoga and guided meditation. It was really relaxing to be on the water and hearing the birds and feeling the wind. We even had a curious Manatee pop up and say hello. Now I know what your thinking. GATORS! That was my fear as well but Kate explained they are more scared of us than we are of them and they didnt like human activity and she has never encountered a gator. So I put my faith in her and low and behold I didnt get eaten! #2ndwin. These events are good for men and women and kids I say 13 and up would be a good starting age and Kate takes lots of pictures so you have proof that you came, you saw and you conquered and hey if you fall, you just land in the water. No harm done. I wont lie. I did want to kidnap my board and explore the rest of that area going rogue but I am going to save that for when I get my own board which thanks to Kate and this great event, I will be purchasing one. Cant wait to go again!

She greeted us with a mask and sanitized equipment which definitely was a huge plus to me. Of course you don't need to wear the mask while paddling since there's a good amount of distance. She had great fun facts about wildlife and nature, very friendly and personable. We never felt awkward or uncomfortable at all which I'm really thankful for, customer service is a really important to me and she definitely had it down pat. Also don't underestimate her, her upper strength is admirable. I wouldn't want to be slapped by her hahahaha, as a person who box here and there I definitely got tired pretty easy compared to her   I highly recommend it especially in these times that you do want to go do something out of the house that is still safe, also it's a good workout

They were building a new restroom facility when we visited (Memorial Day 2017). There's also a picnic area with grills. There are classroom facilities too which can also be rented for meetings. The building has wifi. This building is separate from the other building with the cafe and store inside, which is closer to the beach. We will definitely rent another tandem kayak from here next time we camp at Anastasia State Park. The kayaking takes place over oyster beds so you CANNOT get out of the boat without injuring yourself. Beautiful views and we saw lots of wildlife, especially birds, crabs, and we think we saw a sea turtle quickly surface.

It was an incredible start to my birthday! They were so mannerly and awesome personality for getting there at 5:30am on a Sunday you'd never know it!! We had the perfect weather and tide conditions for kayaking! They were enjoyable and knowledgable. We each took out a single. They also have doubles and other equipment for rentals. Definitely worth it!! Clearly they know what they're doing. We couldn't thank them enough. Hoping we get to go out with them again sometime soon!!
