We started out ordering breakfast sandwiches but quickly changed our minds to sandwiches. They were patient with us 5 and taking our orders. Ultimately we all got the Vermonter (I hope that's right) but it was quite the tasty sandwich! And perfect to hit the road with. My most expensive item was the bag of laundry pods I needed to do some laundry back at the Air BnB. The cashier was friendly when checking out. Store is clean but busy with patrons. Shaw's sits on the main thoroughfare in Wilmington. Also plenty of parking. Shaw's is in a small strip mall. Getting in and out is relatively easy. I would go here again if I needed anything else.

It was certainly well stocked on a busy Sunday afternoon and fairly clean. The butcher/deli areas were pretty busy. I felt the biggest deficiency was fresh produce, though I imagine this time of year, there are plenty of competing farmer's markets. Given that the alternative is to driver 20-30 minutes to one of the larger cities in Southern Vermont, you can do okay here.

Ms. Bergman makes world class soft ripening cheese which she kindly permits me to sell in my store. They are all great but my favorite is the Grappino, the most full flavored of the bunch. The wine selection curated by Mr. Frey is thoughtful and holds many delicious surprises from all over the world. They also have a wonderful wine bar named "Remedy." The couple holds theme based dinners based on the cuisine and wine from various viticultural regions. The last one was from the Savoie region of France and there was exquisitely melted Raclette Cheese everywhere. Needlessly to say the 6 or so wines were perfect and though I've been in the wine business for 30 years (7 of which were in France) I was surprised to try wines that I'd never heard of. Jacksonville, Vermont is lucky to have them, I'm lucky to have them 20 minutes away. Reservations strongly recommended!!

Watching this process was prob the most painful 20 minutes of my life. The counter person who took my order/made my coffee took about 3 minutes on each step. Ice in the cup - 3 minutes. Coffee grounds in the machine - 3 minutes. Milk in the cup - 3 minutes. Conversation with a co-worker about filling the coffee machine later - 5 minutes (in the middle of my order). There were hamburgers and fries ordered after my coffee that came out first. The final straw was watching them add 6 coffees worth of chocolate syrup to finish it off (they had already added enough for one drink 12 minutes earlier). It looked so bad I walked away before they could spend another 3 minutes finding/putting a lid on. Unfortunately I paid first, so I ate the $6 and walked away, incredibly disappointed. Sandwich and coffee were both great and reasonably priced. Cashier managed the large group of workers who must stop there every morning very well and we had no delay in getting our selections and out the door.
