The staff is friendly and competent, but the quality of their service is impaired by the fact that the restaurant has inadequate grill space, making for a much too long wait for one's food. (There were only about four other parties and we waited about 20 minutes - too long for breakfast food.) In the meantime, the coffee, which is delicious, gets cold in your cup, partly because it comes from a carafe, not a pot on a burner, which does not keep the coffee piping and deliciously hot, as it should be in an establishment with this title. I had the breakfast sandwich with cheddar cheese and sausage, which was very good. My companion had French toast, which was adequate. Both were good sized portions. The home fries are unusual. They have an odd, albeit, mild, seasoning with what appears to be light breading throughout, which was unappealing. The place is roomy and comfortable, with a casual vibe. read more

A hidden gem. Well, all of Adams is a hidden gem. The Daily Grind has the best omelets and home fries I have had anywhere. The omelets are fluffy and loaded with whatever goodies you order. I recommend the sausage and Portobella omelet. The home fries are slightly crunchy and nicely seasoned. Portions are big! Coffee is great and the prices are very reasonable. My wife had the Breakfast Burrito and I had an omelet. We both had home fries. Everything was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. All portions were huge. The coffee was excellent. The only drawback came when my wife found a hair in her potatoes. It was a big turn off to her. Things like this happen. She just couldn't finish her potatoes after that. It wouldn't have stopped me. The owner and crew of this place are THE BEST. The owner, Ben, greets you with you first name, if he knows you. The food is ALL made fresh right there. None of what I have seen, regarding the food, is what YOU would buy from a grocery store, such as sliced meats. THAT is done on site! If you like classic sandwiches, say like the RUBEN, I personally feel that Ben makes the best ever!!! When HE is not there, the young woman doing the food prep is just as good, 'cause HE trained her. Recently spent a weekend swimming in Adams and went here for breakfast and to stock up on sandwiches for later in the day. The restaurant itself is very lowkey in a good way, and staffed by a group of super friendly people. I had your basic slightly indulgent breakfast: French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, and home fries. My breakfast was made to order and served hot, and every bite was delicious. The French toast was made with these extra-thick slices of bread, and done perfectly...no burned spots or clumps of egg, no over or under-cooking. The home fries were well seasoned and so tasty, and the eggs were fluffy and delicious. And I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is one of the few places in New England I've found that serves sausage in patties instead of links. I love sausage patties! Their coffee was pretty good, too, but the real kicker was the sandwiches we ordered for lunch. I went simple: a turkey BLT. But it was a ridiculously GOOD turkey BLT. Crispy bacon, ripe tomatoes, crisp lettuce. YUM. And the bread they use is thick-sliced and hardy enough to not be soggy after an entire day spent in a cooler, but not at all crusty or hard. It was delicious. If I come to Adams to swim again, I will definitely be going here for all my breakfast and lunch needs. read more

We were just trying to get something quick and tried to go to the Coffee Liberation down the street but they don't open until 9am. We followed some locals who were trying to do the same thing. The Daily Grind is definitely a spot for the locals. It looks like it has been there a hundred years with no renovations. I guess why would they need to? The food was excellent and the people working there were very friendly. The lady at the register seemed to know everyone who walked in.
