I had a very positive experience at this clinic. I am a teacher and I was catapulted into distance teaching back in March. My shoulder and neck always aggravated me, but the distance learning situation exacerbated my pain and discomfort due to the additional computer time. Sam was a great help to me over the past two months. Working with her on different exercises and stretches has really helped me to diminish my pain. I found her to be a very caring and knowledgeable PT. I had shoulder surgery last October and started going to JACO twice a week for 5 months. My PT's were Peter and Kelsee and if it wasn't for them I feel I would of been pretty depressed. They both brought me back to full recovery but also made every visit enjoyable. I looked forward to seeing them both every week. Now that I have completed my therapy I truly miss going. So surprised by the positive reviews here. I had a terrible experience, and was treated poorly by the therapist assigned to me and then given treatment that resulted in further injury. The response from the supervising therapist was absolutely to document for any legal reasons and not to try and help me, and no one in charge seemed to know what was going on with the junior therapists that do the treatment. Review-Town Location. After ankle surgery in Jan. I was admitted to an in house rehab, home therapy, then O/P PT at Jaco. I was just learning to walk on 2 feet with difficulty , and I did not know what to expect. From the beginning, Peyton Lee and Mara Mukai worked together, diligently to make sure I recd the best treatment I needed. I knew it would be hard, as I had underlying conditions. They not only took that into consideration, but taught me how to help myself in my everyday life's needs. They were always pleasant and professional and made sure I understood the reasons for each exercise. They ans all my questions and offered me numerous tips on how to make sure I would be safe. They stressed SAFETY before anything else. They are a great asset to your organization, and I would not hesitate to come back, if needed, and ask for them again. They are nice enough. I bit nosy about asking questions in your business. Really didn't do much for us after hip replacement surgery. I could have done more on my own. They also charge you if you can't make your appointment. It really seems like a money mill. Like they have all these locations and employeres and they just give you some excersises to do on your own. Love JACO Rehab. I'm an ER Nurse that got injured and had a difficult time getting physical therapy during this crazy pandemic. The first PT I went to had such limited days and hours that it made it very difficult to get sessions in. JACO has a very modern and gym feel versus a standard medical setting feel. The therapists are young and have a positive energy. I really like Conner who is very calm and friendly. They've been able to see me at 6:00am before work and even at 7:30pm after work! I'm so impressed. They have a nice spacious area to do your stretches and exercises and also smaller rooms with massage/treatment tables. I've had many, and I mean multiple years worth of separate PT experiences in my lifetime with excellent results. Unfortunately, those Physical Therapists have either retired or moved out of state, which just broke my heart. It is so difficult to find a therapist who has actual "magic hands". You barely have to describe anything and they know what to do just by feeling. It's the best ever, like discovering gold. I saw 3 separate therapists during my visits to JACO. Two out of the 3 merely aggravated my pain more than helping alleviate or at least relax the painful spasms with hands on massage therapy. It took several days for the pain to subside from all the rough poking and jabbing instead of steady slow pressure to break up the spasm. No oil or cream is used to ease the pressure flow against your skin. The entire experience was more suffrage than relief. One therapist was better but not on duty enough to be seen on a steady basis which would have worked out better. They have a difficult time scheduling you with one therapist, which, makes it difficult to get proper ongoing treatment. My treatment requires actual hands on touch to understand the patient so just reading your chart does not help. It's like starting all over again with each therapist. Honestly, this has been one of the most disappointing PT services I've received in my lifetime. I came here from recommendations and reviews but it didn't pan out to be what I'd hoped for. I found the facility to be somewhat unsanitary since all the tables are not lined with anything. It's like a public gym and all they do is spray and wipe instead of changing the full length of paper or any form of cover. No clean sheets, towels or anything sanitary or at least for comfort sake. Usually, you should have your own private room with a fully clean sheet covered therapy table. Nothing like this exists at JACO, another major disappointment. Sorry, but this place lacks in quality. The staff was nice, friendly, and professional, but as far as quality of actual services, this place is not up to par. read more

I've been coming here for rehab of my right shoulder following a slap repair surgery. My two therapists are great, Motoki and Andie are the best! My therapy has been going really well which I credit a lot to Andie and Motoki. They've been able to help me get a lot of my range of motion back and build confidence that my shoulder won't dislocate again when I resume regular boot camp workouts. I'm getting near the end of my treatment and will miss seeing these folks twice a week. I highly recommend JACO, they have experienced staff and super a accommodating hours. This place is so good :) all staff are friendly! I love that the physical therapists spend the full hour with you, instead of teach you exercises and then leave you with someone else. One of the biggest reasons why I like this place is because they are so big on communication! I had some issues with my insurance so it became a little difficult to schedule my sessions... But everyone I spoke to knew exactly what was going on and I didn't have to repeat myself. I was able to communicate via email and phone. And they emailed me right away too! read more

I tore my ACL in November 2010 and had arthroscopic reconstruction surgery in December. From the day after my surgery when I hobbled in on crutches, the therapists were great. Cheryl and Cat are especially amazing because they always made me feel comfortable and genuinely cared about my recovery. The ladies who make the appointments are also very helpful and quick, and they send you email confirmations and call you to remind you so you never miss an appointment. I had knee surgery (meniscus tear) again in December 2013 and have been seeing Cat for therapy. The new location at Hale Pawa'a is great because it's bigger and the space is more tailored to physical therapy, giving the therapists a better environment to work with. As much as I hope not to have to come back again after this round, if I do have another injury, I will return to Jaco. read more

I highly recommend JACO for PT. I've been going to the Beretania Street location at the Hale Pawaa bldg, and this is my second time needing physical therapy. The location is easy to get to. The facility is really nice and clean, and the equipment there looks brand new. Even the parking is spacious and ample, and I usually only pay $1.00. It's also a big plus that the staff at JACO are friendly. I've mainly worked with two physical therapists, Catherine and Mari. They are both so knowledgeable and friendly, but also push me at the exercises and make sure that I have correct form always. My knee problems last year resolved quickly thanks to PT, and my current right knee injury has improved significantly so much so that I'm ready to start training for the next Honolulu Marathon again. I'm forever grateful to Mari and Catherine and the staff at JACO. read more

Fractured my patella in June and after surgery was referred to jacorehab in Kapolei. The physical therapists there are outstanding. My primary was Jaime, who went out of her way to encourage me and bolster my self confidence when I felt I wasn't progressing as I thought I should. She and Miwa, who also worked on me, did exemplary therapy, getting me up and walking...off walker, then off cane...and really working on my range of motion. They made a painful and frustrating recovery possible and I am very, very grateful. I'm still working on my PT at home and walking up to two miles daily. Also kudos to receptionist Hannah, who was always bright and cheerful, and professional. It was a pleasure to be greeted by her, and she helped make the PT experience more pleasant. I came to Jaco last march after I found that my ACL was torn. I did pre surgery therapy there, and have now gone back after finally having surgery. Every single person that works there is friendly and great at their job. I also loved that the owners take time to come introduce themselves and have a great community surrounding the rehab. The facility is always clean and they always give a full hour of great service. Every therapist that I've worked with makes sure to ask how I am doing, rather than just pushing me when I may not be feeling 100%. I came to JACO Rehab when I had pain and inability to lift my right arm. Later it was determined that arthritis had severely damaged my shoulder. Surgery was suggested but I opted to decline. Justin L., with his knowledge, expertise, experience, manual massages and physical exercises, was able to regain mobility and strength on my arm. Three months later arthritis affected my left knee. The pain made it difficult to walk. The doctor referred me to JACO Rehab for physical therapy. Justin L., Danny and Ed worked with me in 12 sessions. They are all skilled and capable therapists who helped me to walk again without pain. The reception and office staff were very friendly and helpful. I was referred here by my orthopedic surgeon for physical therapy after my knee surgery. The facility is very clean and quite large. They have multiple therapists but since they are in such high demand, it's hard to book an appointment or reschedule within a week or something even 2 weeks out. They try and keep you with a maximum of 2 therapists total in general. Other than that my therapists Jennifer and Tim are both amazing!! Even if I have other pains besides my surgery pain, they'll help me take care of those also. They are attentive and listen to me when I say something is sore or what not. They teach me new exercises to work until my next session. And over all they are very encouraging with my progress and keep such a positive attitude during this LONG process!! read more

Every since I got injured and strained all my muscles in my back and hip, I thought I was a goner and going to be in pain, but the physical therapists here helped make me better. I started from having pain just moving and walking to being able to walk like a normal person. The first appointment was nerve wracking because I didn't know what was wrong with me, but my entire body hurt and even though I had a lot of complaints, they sat through each and then found exercises that would help me get better. I completed 7/8 of the physical therapy sessions and am a lot more stronger physically and have a better understanding of how to protect myself from future injuries. I truly recommend JACO Rehab because the staff is friendly, helpful, and just want to see you better. I feel like I can get better on my own because they gave me all the knowledge, skills, and techniques I need to get better. They usually start each session for me with a massage so my muscles are less tense and less likely to be strained. I have been going to Jaco Honolulu for about a year now. Unlike, some other practices they have a relatively larger setup with PT tables and equipment/workout area. Personally, I like the layout, as all the patients are rehabbing together. Gives a sense of solidarity in the recovery process. Due to my scheduling needs, I opted to see multiple therapists. However, usually they'll try to keep it two. Jaco is opened 7 days a week with really good hours of operation. Since I have seem most of the therapists, I can honestly say that they are all pretty amazing. They're all well trained, friendly and give outstanding service. As a recreational runner, ocean swimmer, and triathlete I have been a long time fan of JACO rehab and have enjoyed working with the entire team at their town clinic. About a decade ago Marissa T (now director of the Mililani clinic) helped me recover from a lower back injury, which completely resolved due to her diligence, encouragement, and thoughtfully designed in-clinic manipulations and take-home exercise regimens. With Marissa's guidance I was able to completely overcome my lower back issues and continue thousands more miles of running, cycling, and ocean swimming. When the miles caught up (should have done less than 1000's) and my hip started revolting, Jenn R helped me navigate months of difficult decisions regarding surgery and has been an absolute champion for my recovery from pre-op to post-op to now weekly sessions 5 months later in which she helped me go from crutches to walking to running! Jenn's experience, technical expertise, and deep listening ability combined with her unique sense of empathy and intuition helped me stay positive and motivated to improve each and every week. She carefully adjusted our sessions and my exercise regime based on progress and feedback and empowered me by explaining the changes occurring in my body, allowing me to return to what I love much faster than I (or my surgeon) expected! I literally cannot imagine having to go through the post-op healing process without Jenn. What makes JACO special is the people -- I have worked with Marissa and Jenn the most but have met many in the JACO ohana along the way and have always felt supported, welcomed, and cared for. Great pre and post operation PT. I went in for double hip replacement and rehabbing got me out of my hospital stay, driving, walking and back to fully active in half the estimated time. He truly represents JACO very well. My tendons, ligaments, bones, and assorted surgical steel plates, pins, screws, rods and I feel very lucky that to meet Connor and JACO. In my case, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs paid for all my PT at JACO and for all my foot surgery (major foot reconstruction from military and sports injuries) with Honolulu's excellent podiatrist/surgeon Dr. Gregory Morris at Queens Hospital/POB 2. Veterans Affairs recommended Dr. Morris as the best surgeon, and he recommended JACO as the best PT, and JACO chose Connor as the appropriate PT for helping military veterans with major surgery learn to walk and exercise properly again. If you've had foot surgery, Connor is the guy to see for helping you get back in the game. Connor is an athlete himself (basketball player, etc.), and as a high performer himself, Connor knows what you are going thru when your body is injured, recovering, regaining your balance/motor coordination, and feeling some serious pain and soreness. This review is long overdue, but so deserving. I arrived in Honolulu after a 10 hour flight from Washington, DC for a business trip. Out of no where, I was suffering from severe sciatica pain - I could not sit, had pain when standing and could only find comfort lying on my right side. I was visiting Hawaii because I had a two week long conference that required long days, on my feet, in an exhibit hall. I HAD TO GET BETTER! After visiting All Access Ortho (shout out, same building) they suggested I get an MRI and go upstairs to JACO Rehab to see a therapist. I couldn't believe how accommodating the staff was to fit me in and provide exactly what I needed to start my road to recovery. They were so sympathetic to my dilemma, and provided appointments for the next two weeks that worked around my schedule and provided the tools to get me back on my feet. Since I had to take whatever appointments I could get, I was treated by three different therapists. Each one was knowledgable, skilled and impressive! They showed me models and computer simulations of what was happening to me and how they would help me resolve the severe pain and manage it. I left each session in less pain and armed to get better. I truly appreciate their time and care. I'm sorry I never got a chance to meet Jaco and let him know how grateful I was to his staff. I also wanted to let him know that walking through the doors just makes you feel like 'this is place of healing.' I love this place! I have been meaning to write a review for a while given that I first came here in August when I hurt my neck moving (lifting heavy boxes). Luckily, I haven't had to come back again because Devon was amazing and taught me an exercise that helped to relieve my neck pain. When I re-injured my neck skiing in December, I just did the exercise he taught me before, and I feel fine! I'm incredibly thankful for Devon and his hard work. He really knows what he is doing and I love that he explained the whole process of how/why discs get dislocated and how the exercise he taught me puts them back into place. He even measured the movement of my neck (I was not able to turn my head) throughout the session to show me that the exercise works. Thank you for your hard work!!! read more

My wife and sister-in-law were vacationing in Honolulu Hawaii last week. When my wife was suffering from extreme vertigo. Being a physical therapist myself I tried to give her instruction on how to help herself but it was very difficult to do over the phone. So I attempted to call a number of physical therapist in the honalulu area and found that JACO was open on weekends. I called them and spoke to a physical therapist about my wife's problem and we agreed that she needed an evaluationFirst but what she needed was an epleys maneuver that they said they could certainly do for her. I asked them to call her at the hotel which they did but they could not give her an appointment until Tuesday or Wednesday which was four days later. I thought they would give me a professional courtesy by making time for my wife. I've been working in physical therapy for 35 years and I make special time for people who require expedient help unfortunately they do not feel compassionate like I do.
