We paid a visit to look at their landscaping pebbles. Prices are fair here in comparison with a couple of other construction materials companies we have recently visited. Also, they have a good variety of landscaping materials. Parking is available inside, but it is limited. We didn't encounter any issues though. We were helped as soon as we needed help. The gentleman who helped us made sure all was okay up until the end. No discounts as pebble prices are already lower per scoop; however, when we asked for a discount, the owner lightened up the atmosphere by telling us funny jokes. Haven't had an issue with Jacobi. Have purchased various stone from them over the years for house projects. They have fair pricing and are cheaper than their Santa Monica competitors. Went recently and the woman at the desk was quite helpful & friendly. No complaints from me! Easy peasy experience with quality stones for my stone slab walking path. As a follow up, they actually called me today (the day after dropping by to place my order) and shared they had additional inventory of my stone should I need more from their stock. I am a DIY kind of person who creates projects around the house...inside and out. Today I had an idea to put medium sized grey rocks in my outdoor planter section...so I headed to Jacobi Building Materials in Canoga Park. Roberto helped me calculate how many bags I would need for the square footage that I wanted to cover. Another staff member showed me the various sizes I could choose from...but I was matching an existing area so with my samples it took like 30 seconds to find them! We arrived here 15 minutes prior to close. 3 minutes before they close they called us from the back of the yard, and told us they were closed. I asked the gentleman if I could purchase some samples of rocks. Approximately, 2 different rocks and I would need in total 5-6 rocks. The gentleman, was very impolite and told us they're closed. Beautiful selection of river rocks and boulders for large or small projects. Definitely cheaper than home Depot or Lowe's and has more variety. The kind of small river rocks we got came in 75LB bags for $15. The home Depot/Lowe's bags were 40LB bags for $10. A few parking spots in the front. You can pick out your selection, pay for it at the front office, then drive your car through for pick up. Someone helped us load about 450LBs. Very helpful. Great place to buy hardscape landscaping materials! I looked at several different stone yards looking for modern concrete pavers and I found the ones I ended up using to create a walkway and patio for my yard at Jacobi. They also had a great selection of stones in various sizes. The way it works here is you order what you want inside the office and then you drive your car or truck to the loading area in the back and they'll check your receipt and load what you bought into your vehicle. We also had our landscaper come pick up an order for us too without issue. read more

I find that one of the guys ( Robert who may be the owner ?) was rude to me when he promptly told me at 4:54 that they are " leaving now " meanwhile i already picked out like 20 heavy rocks , and had 2 huge rocks in my hand. What was i supposed to do , drop them and tun out ? There is no parking , try to guess where to park for a big order. They get 3 stars because they do have a lot of materials , but i still prefer Balboa Brick supply where they always nice and have designated parking ( even though only a few ). Not all construction workers use beat up trucks , some of us drive very large pickup trucks , nice trucks that we care about , and parking is a concern. There is no point to have all those great materials if you can not pick it up. I may go back if I must but not going back happily. read more

Do not shop at this place they are rude, and can cause you damages if you are on working schedule They charged my company card last week and I scheduled a crew to come pick it up for this week. I gave our workers a copy of the receipt as myself I was very far and couldn't make it with the paper original receipt the Jacobi worker Jose was rude to my guys and refuse to provide the pre paid merchandise. He demanded the original handwritten receipt I called in and Jose recognised my voice and saw the receipt copy and still refuse to release the merchandise. I had a rental track and 4 workers that scheduled to work today and we couldn't perform the job I asked to speak to the owner to resolve this matter and he refused to connect me with him. We already lost a day of work that our contract in danger and cause us to loose the truck rental payment and 4 workers I'm expecting to have losses of over $1000 out of the pocket in event that we still meet our deadline and if not even more than that. I called and the mid afternoon and asked the owner again but this time frustrated from Jose refusing to transfer or provide the owner contact so I can resolve this matter. After calling from a different number somehow the owner reached out to the phone and start cursing me calling names and saying that this is how he handle crooks. He immediately assumed that I want to screw his business. Now after the fact I know that you have to save the handwritten receipt and be there personally. The owner refuse to provide the materials nor the refund for the payment. So as of now I paid for products which I never received the owner refuse to refund and say sue me I don't care. I hired 2 workers to dig a 4-foot-wide trench, 6" deep, in our back yard for gravel and sand and a brick walkway. I came back at the end of the day and they were standing proudly next to an 18" deep trench! They had even hauled the dirt back to the bottom of my back yard and compacted it down level! Jacobi's to the rescue. I started up my old pickup truck, got a skip of gravel, and figured 1 skip would fill the trench up to 4" from ground level. About 8 skips later, finally got up to the level where I could start getting skips of sand from Jacobi's. I figured 1 skip of sand would do it. 4 skips of sand later, finally started laying bricks. Swept sand over the bricks, hosed it down, and ... ... the brick path looks great! And the best part is, as I kept coming back to Jacobi's and telling my tale of woe, nobody there laughed at me! (I think they may even have taken pity on me and given me a little more gravel, but I'm not sure...) They were very sympathetic and very helpful. read more

I mean they had huge rocks, large rocks, average rocks and small rocks with different shapes and textures. I think they sold it to us by weight or something. Anyways the process was very simple and I had a good experience. I remember they also help you load it into your truck. Rocks are heavy so the larger the rocks the price can add up. I have been in the store many times over the past several years. They have a great selection of landscaping material. However the employees consistent are very rude. I have never been approached by staff or greeted, even when standing in front of an employee at the register. They answer questions directly however do not offer any advice.
