I had a horrible fever, cough, and colourful mucus out of nowhere Friday night, and called them first thing on Saturday morning to see if they accepted my insurance. (Really, you should do this before going to any urgent care, because they all seem to accept different plans.) Once I heard they accepted my insurance I went straight over. I arrived Saturday at 9:00 am. There was only one other person in front of me. Filling out new patient forms/waiting to be seen only took about 20 minutes. The girls at the desk were very kind and pleasant. The assistant that took my vitals was also very pleasant and nice. She let me know about the "My Chart" program, but a lot of places now do this. They have contracts with the site to sign people up, so you can just decline if you don't want it. After vitals, my wait time in the checkup room was about 10 minutes. I was seen by Audra Burdulis, a Nurse Practitioner. She was incredibly warm and pleasant to me right out of the gate. I usually feel like an idiot having to go to any urgent care, because I so rarely get sick that I never know what's wrong with me, and feel like the biggest arse spouting out my complaints. She listened very patiently and empathized with me. She looked at my eyes, in my mouth, ears and throat, and felt along my neck and face. She diagnosed me with a severe upper respiratory infection/pre bronchitis. I had to bring up the humiliating fact that I can't swallow pills, and she wasn't put off or annoyed at all. She prescribed me all liquids and sprays, and explained how to use each one and which ones not to take at the same time. She implored me to call back if I had any change of symptoms or if I had any concerns, and they phoned in my prescriptions to the pharmacy I requested before I even left the office. I have a bit of a road to recovery ahead of me, but my experience with this facility was wonderful.

She is hard to get an appointment with which makes me have to make appointments with Valley's Urgent Care located down the hall. I'm sure all the doctors are crammed full with appointments but this is not the first time I get a cold feeling from this physician. I'll have to start the whole process again trying to find a PCP with whom I feel a sense of care.

I had a deeply disappointing and upsetting experience with Dr. Gia at Swedish…read more Before this appointment, I had already written out several issues I wanted to address in the online visit intake. I listed multiple concerns in advance, including the topics we were supposed to discuss during the visit. However, when Dr. Gia came into the room, she seemed completely unaware of any of them and asked me what I was there for, as if she had not reviewed my visit notes at all before seeing me. I scheduled this appointment for very specific reasons: I needed a Pap smear, which I had not had in five years, I wanted a breast exam because I routinely monitor my breast health, and I also had several other health concerns I hoped to discuss. Instead of listening carefully and addressing those concerns, the entire visit felt rushed and inattentive. What disturbed me most was her attitude when I brought up very private symptoms -- vaginal itching and mild pain. Sharing something that intimate already takes vulnerability, and instead of being met with professionalism, empathy, or sensitivity, I felt judged. Her expression, tone, and overall manner made me feel as though she was viewing me through a biased and judgmental lens. What makes this especially upsetting is that she is a female doctor. As a woman, I expected at least a basic level of understanding and compassion when discussing such a private and sensitive issue. Instead, I felt scrutinized and silently judged at the exact moment I was trying to ask for help. No woman should feel shamed or stereotyped by another woman physician when bringing up intimate symptoms. I came in asking for a Pap smear, but the visit appears to have turned into STD testing instead. That was not the main reason for my appointment, and I did not ask for my concerns to be reduced to assumptions. Meanwhile, the preventive care I actually requested was not properly addressed. I also asked for a breast exam, even a basic manual exam, and she did not perform one. Even during the cervical swab, the interaction felt extremely rushed. As soon as that part was done, she seemed ready to leave immediately. I had to stop her and continue bringing up the many concerns I had listed and came in to discuss, but she gave little to no meaningful response. It felt like she was not actually engaging with my questions at all. I also specifically reminded her to look at my prior ER visit and relevant medical history, but she did not appear to review it or take it into consideration. The entire appointment felt as though she had not meaningfully reviewed my medical records, my intake concerns, or the context I was trying to provide. In addition, I brought up my migraines and asked for a referral to another specialist. She initially told me that the computer was not working and that she could not place the referral. However, after I strongly insisted, the referral was ultimately placed anyway. That made it very hard to believe that the issue was truly technical inability. It gave the impression that she was unwilling to help until I pushed hard enough, which was extremely frustrating and discouraging as a patient. Overall, I left this visit feeling dismissed, judged, stereotyped, and not listened to. The lack of preparation, lack of attention, lack of empathy, and apparent bias made this one of the worst medical experiences I have had. I would not recommend Dr. Gia to patients who want respectful, attentive, and compassionate care.

I chose to work with him because he is extremely knowledgeable about the issues and problems that somebody with ADHD has. I have only been in the program for a few months, but I have already seen drastic improvement. I describe it to other people as for the first time in my life that I can remember I'm able to go through the entire day with focused energy. All of the outside noise, constantly interfering with what I'm trying to do and accomplish at work and at home has been minimized. I think it takes a lot of effort on the part of an individual who chooses to work with Dr LeGrand, Jake and the rest of the staff but it is well worth it. It takes that much effort because of how big of a change we have the capability of making when we're working with the right professionals. I promise you I had tried just about everything in the traditional medical system before working with Nature's Health Clinic. None of those previous approaches dealt with the root causes of my symptoms. When you get serious about addressing your ADHD issues there is no better place to partner with.

That insight gave me the confidence to taper off and finaly stop medication and commit to Dr. LeGrand's program to reboot my system using his labs, methods, and practices. Within six months I saw meaningful improvements in my health, daily structure, and self-awareness and I formed lasting friendships with others in the program. What began as a health reset turned into a two-year healing journey that ultimately inspired me to become a ADHD and AuDHD coach. If you're an adult with ADHD considering alternatives to medication and ready to do the work, I highly recommend Dr. LeGrand's program. It provided the foundation I needed; the rest of your growth is yours to build on, and this program is a powerful place to start.
