There are few people like Jacques around anymore. I came in for a watch battery exchange which he did easily with skill. He was also nice enough to open up a vintage watch my wife got me and gave me an honest opinion on service and updating options. Sadly there was a very rude customer who used foul language at him because Jacques was talking to me about my questions for 5-10 minutes and not moving on. So sad there are such entitled, rude people out there. I will definitely be coming back to Jacques with more watches though! read more

I am not surprised seeing a few very bad reviews on Jacques Jewelers. I stumbled upon this repair shop by chance and brought many things to get fixed, resized and to make new things. I was almost done with getting my order completed when some other customer walked in. Jacques interrupted taking my last item and asked me to wait as he allowed this other customer to take my place. I waited at the back of the shop for a long long time while he was dealing with this customer. He didn't apologize to me for making me wait. He didn't express any appreciation for my kindness either. I felt completely ignored and disrespected. Finally Jacque finished dealing with this customer and again expressed no regret or apology. I had to take all my jewelry back and leave as I couldn't deal with such rude and unacceptable service. I would not recommend anyone to use this business read more

I'm confused why this place has great reviews, I am assuming it's from friends and family. I came in to get a watch resized and he let me know it would be done by 2pm the following day. I went the next day and there was a customer he was attending to so i waited about 10-15 min. After the first client left, he proceeded to tell me he actually couldnt get it done because he was so busy. Im confused why he couldnt give me a call to let me know this (especially if i was driving from far away this would have sucked, which luckily, i wasnt). Or, just tell me when i got in the store instead of having me wait. He told me it would be done end of day and i can pick it up at 5-6pm. I told him ill just come the following morning and asked him what time he opens so i can stop by when they open. He said 11. I came in at 11:10am and it was closed. I roamed around shops and went back closer to 12pm and he was there. The reason im giving it two stars instead of one is because the watch ended up getting resized correctly and he CAN be nice. He isnt the nicest or the most caring to his clients. Overall, it wasnt a good experience and wouldnt return back read more

my elderly mother has been going to Jacques for years. Before the pandemic, she dropped off a repair: an extremely unusual necklace worth at least 8-10k (for which we have matching earrings and I have sent pictures--its a mid 19th century painted enamel festoon necklace, so hard to miss). Over the next 18 months, she suffered through the pandemic and then a bad fall. She eventually returned to pick up the necklace as she was moving into assisted living across the country, but by then had lost her receipt (I note that she never received a call to pick up the item). Jacques refused to look for the item and never responded to my email queries, so now, from a distance, I have to file a police report and insurance report. read more

Took my watch here to have links taken out for a fitting thats it. Took him over a month to get it done. He also insulted the watch calling it cheap china made crap. Hey man I agree wish more quality products were made here in the USA but its an everyday work watch and its not your position to insult watches. Just take the links out. When I dropped it off I wasn't wearing a mask he didnt care. On pick up finally a month later I still didnt wear a mask bc um yeah they dont work and also it was long past the insane tyrant mandates newsome imposed so it was not a law or even a mandate at that point. This guy after a month and insulting my watch wasnt gonna give me my watch unless I had a mask on. Clown show. I said look ill stand outside you bring my watch out to me and ill hand you my card. Worth every five star review. Jacques is not only an expert artisan of fine jewelry and watches, he is a surgeon as well. On a cold morning, I slipped on a large cocktail ring I received as part of a while elephant gift only to find by the afternoon that my finger had swelled up to nearly 1.5 times it's normal size. It was awful and painful. I don't know if it was an allergy or if I ate something really salty. I tried every single trick to remove it - vaseline, ice water bath, holding my arms up in the air until the went numb, floss/elastic band trick on youtube. Since it was a large mother of pearl cocktail type ring the floss/garter trick was not going to work for me since the band was so large and it had a large oval setting that was starting to dig into my finger. Thank goodness for Yelp and Jacques. After doing a yelp search for the closest and best jewelers to me, Jacques came to my rescue. He had a busy day driving all over LA for his high end clientele but he was able to make time and come back for me. He sacrificed his blade and ring cutting tool and removed this massive ring from my swollen finger. I am so grateful. Both he and Annie have such large and kind hearts and make you feel so welcome and warm in their store. When I visited they had two customers drop by, one who was a customer for 19 years. With repeat business like that, they must be doing something right! Believe me they are! Their selection is beautiful and what's more, it goes beyond the case. Jacques can custom make jewelry as well. Give them your budget and they can create a timeless and unique piece for yourself or your loved one, did someone say engagement rings? Jacques has classy and elegant pieces for any budget, some beautiful diamond cut swarovski pieces (saw some priced around $50 and $70) and gorgeous earrings as well! Jacques Jewelers is located in a plaza with parking and they validate if needed. This establishment seems to be run by a couple, Jacques and Annie. They are both very kind and know the business very well. From the looks of things, they are established and trusted by many people (even some not in the LA area). I went here with a simple chain jewelry piece, it just needed to be reconnected. I was quoted a price of $10 and was told it would be ready the next day. When I came to pick it up it was ready and in pristine condition. You can tell just by looking around the shop that this couple is well versed in taking care and repairing jewelry items. As I was about to pay, I was told t was free of charge. Even though I was only quoted ten dollars, it was nice to get it for free. I will be going here again, not because it was free but I can tell that Jacques and Annie are very experienced and I know anything I bring here would get treated perfectly and returned to me better than it was before I came. read more

Years ago, my parents gifted me my Grandmother's engagement ring and wedding band. Purchased by a poor farmer circa 1940, they were worth far more in sentimental value than as pieces of fine jewelry.
