I can see why this place has such poor reviews. I ordered the chicken yi mein for $20 and it was extremely bland. The chicken itself was also very tasteless. I also tried the ham sui gok. They were larger than usual and priced at $5 for 3, but unfortunately they were bland as well and lacked any flavor. Unfortunately, my stomach did hurt after eating. Today s most "memorable" dish goes to Kung Pao shrimp. It is the worst dish ever. I must say it taught me a lesson that never order a Sichuan dish in a Cantonese restaurant. This Kung Pao shrimp is so waterrrry in one of the worst oil pool! Also the peanuts are soaked, with other ingredients like bamboo shoot and red green bell peppers. The fish is that casserole was fishy, which makes the chicken also taste fishy. We asked the waiter to return this dish. The waiter actually took a few mushroom to sample if it taste bad. It offers basic dim sums and traditional fried Rice/ noodles and entrees. Service was friendly. Dim sums were offered in steaming hot carts. I came here with my family on a Sunday morning for dim sum there was plenty of seating but also a good amount of people too! There's a huge parking lot outside which is super convenient compared to flushing locations. There's food was all decent in terms of flavor very comparable to flushing. My one complaint would be that the beef rice rolls weren't the best but other than that everything else tasted great. We also ordered beef flat noodle stir fry and it had really good wok hei!! Came here for dinner and was thankful they were open late on a Sunday. It was a little quiet with about 5 families left at around 8pm. The lamb casserole was woefully lacking in lamb. The pot was mostly propped up by vegetables, ginger, bamboo shoots. It was also very salty. Ended up adding more bean Curt's and mushrooms to lesson the sauce when recooking the leftovers. We had 6:30pm reservations for Mother's Day, and given that it's a holiday, we understand that it will be busy and the service may be slow. There was a table that got seated half an hour next to us after we sat down. At this time, we have been asking for this woman to take our order, in which she kept saying she will come back. Throughout the next half an hr, we kept asking for to just put our order in ,but she kept brushing us off with attitude, while simultaneously bringing the table next to us their ten-course meal. Now mind you, at this point, we have sat down for an hour, and our order hasn't even been taken, yet the table next to us had their ten course meal half an hr after they had gotten seated. At this rate, I was outraged because she was clearly ignoring us and favoring the other table. If all tables were behind, I would've understood. But because she was rude every time we asked, and she served the table next to us all their food, I was outraged. Not to mention, I have a fifteen month old toddler and a five year old, who do not want to sit still for so long and are hungry. I even brought my toddler to play outside of the restaurant to kill time, and when I came back, our order was still not taken. After raising our voices, because she clearly didn't care, another server came to take our order, which took no more than two minutes. Two minutes that this woman refused to give us, but had 30 minutes for the table next to us. The restaurant consist of one big room which is decorated well and looks decent for pictures. They keep the area nice and clean. The food was very tasty and fresh. Came here for dim sum this past weekend with a couple of friends. This place has a giant parking lot which is shared with several other stores. Arrived around 10:10 this past Sunday and it wasn't too busy. The place is well lit and clean. Surprised how clean it looked. There was ample wait staff and several carts. They didn't try too hard to have us order food even though we sat a while waiting for other to arrive. The staff was really nice and recommended ordering something for my daughter to eat so she could be less antsy when we start to eat. Food generally tasted pretty good. Nothing special regarding variety. They did have a decent variety of the baked goods. It's been a few years since I've had traditional Chinese banquet style food and I've missed it so much! Jade Asian Bistro flavors are on point with Cantonese cooking and it feels like it is homemade. We ordered many traditional dishes such as, Peking Style Pork Chop (sweet and sour pork), Braised Fish Fillet with Bean Curd, lobster, Golden Fried Crispy Chicken, longevity noodles, fried rice, and Sautéed Snow Peas Leaves. I've been here for dim sum plenty of other times as well. If you come on a weekday, they will ask you to check off items, but on the weekend, the carts go around. There is a huge parking lot in the back of the restaurant, but there is also metered parking up front. This restaurant is a great staple for Little Neck and great option to avoid the busyness of Northern Boulevard. The inside is well lit and clean. Service (4/5): The staff seated us right away. There was plenty of staff members bustling around to clear plates. They provided a fresh set of plates when the chow fun came out! Food (3/5): $1 per person for tea. The dim sum dishes ranged from $3.95 to $10.95 where most of the ordered dishes were around the $5 range. Sadly, some were served cold/warm instead of piping hot. Beef Chow Fun (Dry) $17: It was served in an enormous bowl so there was plenty to share. The beef slices were super tender! The flat noodles were cut a bit too thin (personal preference). Egg Tarts: This was my favorite! They were much smaller in portion than other restaurants. The crust was very crunchy and the inside wasn't super sweet. Glutinous Rice Dumplings (Hom Sui Gok): This dish was supposed to be served hot were actually cold. The inside of the pork/shrimp stuffing tasted really fishy. I haven't noted if you have to explicitly ask for water at other dim sum restaurants, but that was the case here. Initially we were served only tea to drink. The tripe we had was very peppery - while good, it made me cough, so we had to request water. Tip: try to have a beverage available in advance, to gulp down when you're consuming peppery foods. Overall happy with the service and quality of food. We got parking right in front of Jade Asian Bistro (perfect timing with our arrival!), though I believe there is also a parking lot. Learned that you may not be able to order lobster dishes if you arrive right after the restaurant opens, as they have a certain chef(s) that prepare(s) these dishes. BUT the rest was downhill from there. - The chrysanthemum tea lacked flavor because they put so little tea in it - the usual mustard and spicy sauce they bring out had a weird color to it - the beef tendon dish was obliterated - the pork and preserved egg congee had zero flavor - I had to ask for salt and the waiter told me to eat blander food - the color to the egg tart was completely off, although the outside was crispy. - chicken feet was also obliterated to the point the bones broke apart. The one thing that did surprise me, the restaurant was a lot smaller than I expected. They also had some weekday dim sim discount, think it was something like all large dim sum items were the same price as the med. Also, you get to pick what kind of tea for the table, I always get Chrysanthemum Tea. The food: Pineapple Roast Pork Bun- Bolo bao. These were excellent, the dough was perfect and I enjoyed the filling, I also liked how the filling wasn't too sweet. I really liked the top crust on this, this is a must order. Pork Spareribs- Pi Quat. This was very good, it was so crazy tender, but tender in a very artificial way, think they used the velveting technique. Chicken Feet. Jade has been our primary Cantonese take-out spot since the pandemic, especially during holidays like Chinese New Year, Mother's Day, Father's Day. I find the location easy to access, but parking may be tough sometimes as the restaurant shares parking lot with a Chinese grocery store and a bakery. The good news is I can kill time next door while waiting for takeout (which happens pretty much every time). We have always thought Jade is one of our favorites for dim sum in terms of flavors, portion, freshness, price and even packaging. For dishes, most of the dishes from our CNY order was standard and good, besides the lobster wasn't very impressive. I have gone Jade Asia Bistro twice now because I wanted to patronize a local business and give them a chance but my family and I were very disappointed both times so the experiment is over. I do badly wanted like this restaurant as my inlaws live nearby and swear by this place. The first time I ordered takeout chicken w/ pan fried noodles, beef chow fun and dai pang noodles. I was kind of surprised how much the bill can out to be but if the food is good I don't have a problem. When I got home my kids noticed that the orders were half the size of orders we normally get from Northen Manor and LN1380. The dishes tasted fine but using smaller plastic takeout containers. We wanted to give th restaurant a second chance and decided to order takeout again this past week. This time we ordered we decided to order some rice dishes ( beef and broccoli over rice, fresh squid w/ black beans over rice, chicken w/ mixed greens over rice and Peking project chop over rice ). Once again the food was tasty but 3/4 of the smaller plastic takeout container was white rice! Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on you!!! I get it times are tough, the economy is bad, supply chain issues but in the restaurant business you have to treat your customers right. I for one will never be back and I have informed my inlaws, nieces, nephews and cousins about your practice to deceive good people. The beef was fairly tender, but the sauce isn't great. ** Crispy fried intestines were not good, they were crispy as promised, but dominated by an overly sweet flavour. Although they are listed with the mains, it is served more like an appetizer, laid out a bare plate. I was looking for an intestines dish & this was recommended by the waiter. Service was basic, and did the minimum of bringing our food, but was unhelpful beyond that. When asked about the kitchen's best dishes, the waiter responded that it depends what we like. When I asked about the several intestine dishes they have on the menu, the waiter was not helpful or informative about the differences between the dishes. During my dining experience at the restaurant, I felt like the carts didnt come around that frequent and it wasn't as enjoyable as other dim sum experiences. The other times I came here was for dim sum takeout. Once was in person and the second time around was over the phone, both of these experiences were pleasant and service was fast.
