Family favorite dim sum spot for almost 10 years! We love coming here for weekend dim sum and occasionally dinner. Their fried dim sum dishes are great! Also, after 11:00am, the kitchen opens so you can order any rice, noodles, and other main dish items to go with your dim sum. Our favorite dim sum items include: - Taro with salted egg yolk bun(?) - Fried shrimp rolls (ha tiew) - Fried shrimp wrapped in bean curd And our favorite main dishes: - lobster fried sticky rice (they make it the best here!) - peking pork chops - honey walnut shrimp - fried small fish (shown in picture, not sure of name) You can't go wrong if you come here for dim sum or dinner. Plus, I feel like they're always open even in inclement weather. Other tips: There is a small parking lot in the back, but we usually do street parking as their parking lot is hard to get in/out of! If you come on the weekends, try to come before 11:30am to guarantee a table without a wait.
Pros: - food came pretty quick - service was better than most Chinese restaurants - I absolutely love the turnip cake (lo bak go) from here, they always put a lot of turnip in it Cons: - the vermicelli dish I got literally tasted like oil even with the minced beef gravy/sauce Comments: - went around 2:30PM, so dim sum was ending, the dim sum on the cart was pretty cold - as it was pretty empty around this time, it was relatively quiet but when it's packed it can get very loud but feels lively. Feels like your typical Chinese restaurant/dim sum place
This neighborhood family style Chinese restaurant is a hit or miss. This has been my parents' go to spot since High Pearl changed ownership earlier this year. We have dined during weekday lunch and family birthday dinners. Personal favorites: Beef Chow Fun Pan fried noodles with chicken Pan fried noodles with seafood Snow Pea leaves Baked Chicken Service can be unpredictable because there were moments where people got the wrong dish or the server forgot about their dish. We will be back and hopefully we will try the fish and steak.
2026 Aug 1:food is not consistently hot- the century egg porridge is very hot and comes with sliced pork, the Joy Chai Jiso is not warm at all. Cha Cui sou is pretty good - the bread flakes easily and is very nice. Carrot cake is not house made and not as good as those from the restaurant next door.
Best Chinese places are rated 3-3.5 (separate topic). I'll go on a limb and give this place a 5 rating. Here's why. Smaller dining room (big enough for diners, but it ensures freshness of dishes), excellent execution on each dim sum plate (we didn't find one false note,and we do dimsum often), super authentic (they have HK in their name), spot on service (dish changes, refill tea) we really enjoyed this place. Parking in back is a plus. We were referred to this place from our Cantonese family members. Not reviewing takeout or dinner, this place does dimsum well. It's worth the drive from downtown flushing. We will be back.
The popular next door neighbor dim sum place is closing half hour earlier so we opted to enjoy the remaining hour of this place. We luckily got seated in 5 minutes . Unfortunately for the remaining hour , one of the carts which has its porridge, meat and the like does not carry much. We settled for the remaining carts that has the bao, shumai , friend stuff and desserts. It still filling though what we had for late lunch. Tea is no longer free nowadays , a $2 charge for each and don't offer til you asked. The place is descent and what it offers for dim sum time is just alright. Nothing extravagant to boost about. We will try their regular meal on our our next visit. My husband is a bit disappointed with the parking lot, it is full and he had no choice but to look on the street. It's quit a busy weekend so when visited in the future, try a weekday.
Great Chinese restaurant in Little Neck! They have Dim Sum as well as family style options. We have tried both and both are recommended. The food portions are pretty large, especially with family style dinner entrees. And the dishes taste good as well. I really like their Clay Pot dishes and the Chicken with Veggies which was very tender. They also have a Chef Special soup that we have been looking forward to trying, but they often sell out of it. I liked their fruit and pumpkin/taro dessert at the end of dinner. The space is large and there is decent room between tables, and you don't get as cramped as other Dim Sum restaurants like in Flushing. Also, the decor and look is pretty nice compared to other similar restaurants. Parking can be a bit difficult even though they have a parking lot in the back, because it usually gets packed pretty quickly. Otherwise, you have to do metered street parking.
We were craving for dim sum so we decided to go to this area, our original intention was to go to a neighboring restaurant of this joint but it was fully booked, so we decided to go to this Cantonese restaurant instead as there are a few available seats left. They have a small parking lot for costumers at the back, street parking is a little challenging. Walking in to the restaurant, I noticed that the atmosphere was sleek, modern and has an upscale decor. We were seated to a table for two which was nice and comfortable, the place was packed with people, staff were busy busing food in carts for costumers. There was that delightful ruckus and organized atmosphere of costumers asking for the dim sum that they want, the attentive and friendly staff food busing and the costumers conversing with their family or relative while enjoying their meals. Harmony in chaos. The cuisine is authentic and delicious. We enjoyed their steamed BBQ pork buns, shrimp dumplings, pork shumai, steamed salty egg yolk cream buns, steamed fish balls, steamed beef balls and steamed fresh egg yolk buns. I specially like how they decorate their steamed buns, made them to look like mini pigs or minions, cute and adorable. The food was fresh, flavorful and not greasy. The staff were helpful, attentive and welcoming. Dim sum price is fair making it a good value for families and groups. I earlier looked at the menu and noticed that there are some dishes that are slightly pricey. Their Dim sum menu are available from 10 AM to 3 PM. Our food experience in this spot was good.
I always wanted to try this restaurant but was somehow steered somewhere else. I finally gave it a try and went back a second time. It was that good. We usually opt for the restaurant next door but ever since the change in management some time ago, their service has been terrible so we started exploring other restaurants. Little did I know that the gem next door called LN 1380 would be my next Go-To. Both times I came it was during the holidays but got seated right away which was surprising because it looked really busy. The servers were great and the dishes were delicious. We ordered Salt and pepper squid, Fried tofu with shrimp paste, Honey walnut shrimp, Braised beef stew and Lemongrass porkchops. Everything was great but the lemongrass porkchops especially stood out to me. It makes my mouth salivate thinking about it. The wok hei and the lemongrass flavor of the pork chops, with the punch of saltiness, pair amazingly with white rice. Every bite kept getting better and better. If it wasnt for the family style, I would eat the entire plate of it. As someone who usually gets Salt and pepper pork chops, it was refreshing to have a new pork chop dish to add to the top favorites list. Please give it a try! Definitely plan on coming back to check out their dimsum. Overall I really recommend this restaurant for a family style Cantonese meal.
I wonder why this local dim sum spot has bad reviews. We came in at 1pm on a Saturday and were seated super quickly. The ladies and the carts were everywhere. We got a whole bunch of dishes and tea for less than $60. Everything was so fresh and hot. My personal favorite was the eggplant and shrimp, but honestly the shrimp rice rolls came close. Chicken feet were soft and had good sauce and the shrimp dumplings were great. Only thing that was ok was the black pepper short ribs - too much black pepper but we still ate it. Who knew you didn't have to go to Flushing or Chinatown for some great dim sum!
After we watched the Buffalo Sabres shut out the Islanders recently, our group decided to drown our sorrows in Chinese food. Vito D in our group recommended LN1380HK in Little Neck, Queens. What it lacks in name it makes up in cuisine! I am a lifelong Chinese food connoisseur, and have even eaten my way through Hong Kong. This restaurant gets 5 stars from me and our group of six! The Hot and Sour Soup was one of the best I have ever had! The Pan Fried Rack of Lamb was superb! The House Special Walnut Shrimp was indeed quite special! New for me was the Sautéed Snow Pea Leaf with Fresh Garlic was fantastic, as was the Chicken Fried Rice. The Pan Fried Noodles with Seafood was also a treat with luxuriant chunks of calamari and shrimp! The Roast chicken was tasty and amazing!! The restaurant itself is well lit and spotless! The service was good and suggested what we should have on a couple of our choices. Thank you to Vito and his Wife Aura for this delicious suggestion!
Happened to stop in here for lunch and it was a little over whelming at first they just start trying bully you with random dishes you have no idea what it is. The service was okay and ambiance was nice. Not sure if I will be back here. The fried rice was bland. The chow fun was decent not very flavorful.
Great dimsum find! In comparison to spots Flushing, I appreciated not having a long wait. Came in on a Saturday around 11:30p and was seated immediately. I stuck to typical items: Shumai was okay - juicy but rather bland. Hargow was excellent - wrappers were thick but held the shrimp well, which was not overcooked at all. The shrimp rice noodle roll tasted a bit rubbery. It was otherwise flavored well. The taro with minced meat was definitely my favorite - meat was well marinated, taro cut the flavors, and it was not too oily. Got a few egg tarts as a palate cleanse which I liked as well! Tea was charged on our bill twice (only $1 so not a huge deal) but everything was so affordable, I really couldn't complain. Will be back! A note on parking: the lot behind the restaurant is SMALL. Off street parking might be your best bet if you come during a peak time.
Sunday night family dinner for six. Only a short 10 minute wait for a table. Food was delicious as always. Decent service. Somehow ( maybe because they were. Dry busy) our dishes didn't arrive at the same time. The soup came after two dishes already served. read more

I also have not been here for a while and decided to update my previous review since my experience this time was much better. We came as a group of seven for dim sum today. It was MLK's Day, so the restaurant was quite busy. With that said, I'm not sure why much of the food was served barely warm or room temperature. Thankfully, the taste of many items were quite good. That included the Pork Stuffed Tofu Skin, Salted Egg Lava Buns, Phoenix Claws (chicken feet), and Fried Fish Paste Dumplings. Everything else was fine in general, except the Sesame Balls and Fried Sticky Rice were underwhelming. Honestly, I wouldn't drive this far out to have dim sum when I have plenty of options in Flushing. However, it's nice to know that I have a decent option if I'm in this neck of the woods. read more

LN 1380 was recommended by a friend, and I'm so glad I checked it out! The location is super convenient, and they had all the classic dim sum staples I was craving. Everything was fresh and flavorful--the food definitely lived up to the hype. I'm looking forward to coming back soon to try their dinner menu! read more

I'm not sure why this restaurant has mediocre reviews on yelp as it is a go-to for me when I'm in the Great Neck area. I have gotten take out or dim sum from here countless times over the years and it is always consistent. Today I was forunate enough to take part in a banquet style meal here and the restaurant delivered. Every dish was delicious with some real crowd pleasers. The restaurant also provided an additional free birthday themed dessert at the end to help us celebrate. Service was amazing, and has been amazing in the past too whether eating in the private rooms or general dining room. read more

Very nice decor, not too busy, with its own parking lot and street parking. attentive wait staff, very welcoming. I had the seafood with vermicelli casserol, and my bf had the beef chow fun. The casserol was like a mini hot pot with curry sauce, and it tasted really good. The beef chow fun was also good it came out fast; the beef was really tender. read more
Sleeping in before starting our day for Dim sum and running some errands - mini Egg tarts - chicken feet. delicious and it has all the fingers - steam beef ball - steam spare ribs - beef Cheung fun 2x - crystal dumplings - sticky fried rice - congee - coconut pudding Everything was delicious except for their coconut pudding. I've been looking for a delicious dim dim spot, and i think this one fits the bill. Got there on a Sunday at noon, with a group of 5 and got seated within 7 minutes. This is a traditional spot where they come around with the carts and you pick. Large selection of yummy dim sum. The taro custard buns were the stars the piggies were super cute and delicious. The dips were good, the short rings were good, the feet were good. Nothing wasn't good. I do recommend this place. read more

Solid dim sum here. Shui Mai was yummy which is typically my barometer for good dim sum. Prices are a bit higher than other dim sum places but at least you don't have to go into downtown Flushing. Parking is still a little rough on the weekend but at least you can find parking on the street. We didn't have to wait too long at 11:30 on a Saturday. Is it the BEST dim sum I've ever had? No but it was still very tasty, service was fast and it's convenient. I feel comfortable recommending and I would come back. read more
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! For my first review for 2023, I'd like to highlight LN1380, for their Dim Sum! They have a good variety of dim sum offerings via cart service, and a separate dim sum menu for takeout. I've been here several times and their dim sum is always fresh, hot and tasty! They even have piggy baos for the kids (& us piggy lovin' adults)! lol They do a booming takeout service during dim sum but the wait for a table isn't too bad. LN1380 is pretty big, with lots of private rooms, also used during dim sum hours (at no extra charge). Customer service is efficient & friendly, and most cart ladies do speak English, so do ask questions and ask for suggestions/recommendations! Try some new items, and enjoy! The dim sum prices are a little higher here than in some places. Small, Medium and Large items range from $3.95, $4.95, and $5.95; with most popular items at $5.95. "Special items" range from $6.95, $7.97 and $9.95. One very disappointing item was their chicken wing wrapped in wax paper. You can't really see what you're getting until you unwrap it. (See my photo). One order @ $7.25, contained 2 wrapped items, which turned out to be just 1 whole chix wing in each wrapping, for a total of 2 chix wings! It was nothing special and definitely not worth $7.25! What a gimmick. There is a small parking lot in the rear of the restaurant but honestly, you're better off with street parking; especially in the evening when the parking lot is very dimly lit. All in all, a great place for dim sum without the stress of schlepping into Flushing, Queens! read more
It's Christmas morning and after opening presents, it's dim sum time! You can almost guarantee a Chinese restaurant will be open on Christmas Day and I wanted to try LN1380 in Little Neck. I'm still trying to decipher the meaning of the name. More on that later. The Cantonese cuisine is authentic. The dim sum variety is large and everything comes out fresh and hot. If you come on the weekends, dim sum dishes are served from the rolling carts, HK style. On Mon-Fri, there are no carts, but you can order a la carte from the dim sum menu and they're made to order. If you don't know what you're looking at and the dim sum ladies can't explain it, try it anyway. You never know what new taste sensation you might experience. Our favorites are always the cheong fun, shrimp or beef wrapped in rice noodle rolls. Of course we always get the shumai and har gao. If you're not satisfied with what you see, you can always order a noodle dish from the main menu. If you wait long enough, everything on the dim sum menu will come to you, theoretically. That's just the way HK dim sum is eaten, at a leisurely pace. Dim Sum translates to order to your heart's desire, so Enjoy! read more
We had a pretty nice meal here for NYE with 3 families, and they accommodated our party of 10 well (compared to other typical seafood restaurants... relatively small in size). It's very HK'ish in decor.. booth seatings mixed with non. Service was friendly, our waiter was pretty good about getting us what we needed - our kids were indecisive when it came to drinks, fork or chopsticks... water or tea... The food - lots of hits and a few miss... overall a very solid 3.5 on food! -Fish Maw & crab meat soup (delish!) - add the red vinegar for extra extra oomph! -Sliced conch w/ fried tofu (yummy!) -Stir fry snow pea leaves w/ garlic (solid) -Stir fry 4 season string beans (must get!) -Luxury Platter (50/50 on this one, friends loved it, I wish there were more jellyfish...) -Fried garlic chili lobsters (50/50, I enjoyed this a lot but might be too fried for others!) Would skip on: -Salt & Pepper pork chop (overly fried) -Salted fish and eggplant (not as good as other spots but OK, the eggplant was a bit undercooked) -XO sauce with sea clams... (too much filler! Wish there's more sea clam than asparagus!) -Sweet & Sour pork (too fried... wish it was bone-in, then the meat would be more tender) 10 dish for 10 peeps, about $516 (tips included), not bad! The steam spare ribs tip, unfortunately, mostly were just bones. and the pork shumai was tasteless. Shrimp dumplings were delicious other dishes washThe lady who pushes the dim sum carts is very friendly. The waiter is okay. The ambiance is pretty the place is clean. read more
Cantonese style restaurant located in Little Neck. Decor bright but dated. The service was excellent. The streamed sea bass was tasty. The salt and pepper pork chops were meaty. Some restaurants have boney pork chops. The snow pea tips were tender and garlicky. The tofu was fried perfectly. The steamed chicken was very fresh. Chicken was not frozen. I could taste the difference. The shrimp in sweet sauce was not overly saucy. Jumbo shrimps. So you asked if the service and the food was excellent why did they get a 3 star rating. The flies. We had to shoo away so many flies from our food. As I left I noticed the restaurant received a "B" rating. I will not be back unless arm with a fly swatter. read more

It's not served all day. I don't know the exact time but they stop dim sum service in the mid afternoon
