We shared half a Beijing duck, steamed Chilean sea bass prepared two ways, crunchy seafood fried rice, and finished with ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious. Eric and Miki were our servers tonight--attentive, professional, and pleasant throughout the evening. The entire team, including Eric, Miki, Alex, and Johnny, is always welcoming and attentive. Seeing the owner outside, I politely asked if we could have some salt. To my shock, he suddenly started yelling at me and told me that I was being rude. At first, I thought he was joking, so I responded, "Can you imagine how rude I am to my husband?" His response was completely inappropriate and offensive. He said that if he were my husband, he would slap me on my behind over and over again in a sensual manner and that I would enjoy every moment of it. My friends and I were absolutely stunned. When I asked him to stop and bring us the check, he then said that "you Jews always give me problems." A few minutes later, after I told the waitstaff that I intended to share my experience on GN Mommies, he came over with hot sake to apologize. He even offered to refund our meal, but I declined. I don't want anything from someone who makes hateful remarks about Jews. After living in Great Neck for 40 years, I have never experienced anything like this.
