My Partner and I love this place so much it is the only Chinese restaurant we ever go to. My partner lives in South Bend and I live in Chicago, we go every time I'm in town! The main waiter, Jack, even has our order memorized and is always entertaining. The family that owns the restaurant is so sweet and stop by our table to chat when we come in. The food is amazing! I grew up in an area with a lot of great Chinese restaurants and this place reminds me so much of home while also giving you a one of a kind experience. It's fine for what it is. The owners are really nice and the restaurant has a loyal following. Real Chinese..? No it is not. Good Americanize Chinese..? Depends on your standards. Americanized Chinese food can be good in its own right. This stuff is fine. I suspect if you really wanted something special, asked in advance, and paid beyond the lunch menu price (who can live earning $5 on lunches anyway), you may find something more satisfying. If you want something slightly more authentic, get jjampong. It is...slightly more authentic. read more

Always good food every time we come. Food always comes out super fast but fresh and hot. Ordered pot stickers, house special lo mein, sesame chicken and princess and dragon (chicken and shrimp spicy). All with fried rice. All very good. It is okay. This is NOT my preferred Chinese restaurant in Elkhart. The food is not consistent. I have actually been with groups where none of us at the soup because it was so bad, and the staff did not acknowledge that no one ate the soup at a table of 6. I have eaten there and had good food, I just cannot trust that it will be good. Sometimes the service is slow. They do have sushi. It is not mouth-watering delicious sushi, but we do not have any good sushi in Elkhart (the best is from Martin's grocery store???), so this is acceptable when you are really in the mood for sushi and do not want to drive to Granger or South Bend. read more

BEWARE!!! Besides having to order $30 worth of food, there is a $5 gas charge they don't tell you about for deliveries. The food was bland, The crab was FAKE, mushroom were canned and the scallops tasted like fish. read more

Great food, recommend trying the shrimp fried rice! You won't be disappointed. However, if you are going there for sushi, (which is why I rated this a 3 star rather than 4) I would say just stick to the other food they have and get sushi elsewhere. read more

My first time here and most likely my last. Ordered egg foo young and orange chicken. Egg foo young ok but orange chicken we ended up throwing away. It was not crispy very soggy and found some peices that had feathers still on it. So needless to say we won't be back. I was unsure when we pulled up because a 'hole in the wall" can be either really amazing food, or not so much. However, on the recommendation of a friend I gave it a shot and was very impressed with both the service and food. Best chinese in the area. Kenny (owner, chef) and Rona (owner) also owned the smaller, hole in the wall, Johnson St location until they opened this larger, sit down location. They also added sushi (Rona makes it herself) which is very good as well. The food is more "home-style" than fancy presentation, prices are very reasonable, especially at lunch, very friendly (it helps to be a regular and get to know Kenny and Rona). read more

So I'll start off by saying the food here isn't better than what else you can find in the area. Some foods are better than others but I haven't had anything bad. What keeps me coming back here is the incredibly friendly staff. They always make you feel very welcomed and everything has always come out in a timely manner. I have dined at this restraint multiple times. I really enjoy the service. Nice, friendly people who attend to your needs. They have a waiter named jack. He is very inviting and shares stories (I find that unique and refreshing) I would like to say I normally am not a huge fan of Chinese cuisine, but this place is the exception. This restaurants is in my top ten restaurants. I enjoy the tso's chicken . It has a crisp, sweet orange flavor. The schezwan beef is delicious as well. I like the mix of savory and spicy in a rich brown sauce. We always get the pot stickers as an appetizer. The ginger sauce is second to none. I highly recommend. read more

Stopped for dinner on a family road trip, picked it because of yelp reviews. We arrived about 20 min before they closed and almost didn't go in because the outside isn't exactly nice. WOW!!!!! This place is a gem! Don't be fooled by its exterior. The waiter inside makes this place unforgettable. His charm and conversation alone will make you want to come back. my experience was not good before i even walked in the front door. "beware" there is a crack on the sidewalk right before you walk in the door and i tripped over that crack. hit my face on the handle of the door, tore a hole in my skirt and both of my knees were bleeding. when i walked in the door i asked for a cloth to clean up and stop the bleeding. i then showed management the crack and what had happened. needless to say the first person i showed it to left and i never seen him again. the hostest went and got a lady/owner and i showed her and she just kept saying "you better go to dr." i told everyone i spoke with my concern was someone else tripping and hurting themselves worse then i did and they needed to get that fixed. that was 2 months ago and they still have not fixed it. they will not ever get my business again. read more
