I am super picky about nail places and I'm so glad I came to Jade. The ambience is great (classical/jazz music) and it's super clean. The staff is sweet and patient ... Two weeks ago I got a great manicure so I made an appointment for a mani/pedi yesterday. The manicure was good although they do not soak the nails. The manicurist did not know that I was to get a pedi as well and seemed annoyed when I told her, Pedi started off ok, until she used a callous scraper that was not sanitary. She barely went over my whole heel. Then she cut off the rest of the pedi and just polished. When I was drying she came over to me and told me next time to just book a mani with her and have someone else do my pedi. Since moving to CT six months ago, I have not been able to get a good pedi. I would never go back to this rude establishment. read more

I was told it would be a 15 minute wait ... no problem. An elderly gentleman came in shortly after with his caregiver. They were told I would be an hour, so they left. Another 5 minutes went by and another person (white middle class woman ...probably Darien?) and was hold 15 minutes. She did not have an appointment. They continued to take several women, only one looked to be a reservation. After about 30 to 40 minutes, the elderly gentleman's caregiver (a black man, though it shouldn't matter, to check. The person "in charge", though she claimed she was not the manager, tried to put him off. I interrupted to ask whether they had a problem with male clients. She got flustered. I pointed out (loud enough for several to hear) that several women had been taken before the elderly gentleman. Finally she said she would take him in 5 minutes. Do not know whether this behavior was because the client was a male, elderly, or because his caregiver was black. In any case, this behavior was unacceptable! I apologized to the caregiver. I was embarrassed. (My pedicure was not even that good ... cheap and just get it done. Will not go back and will not recommend to anyone. read more

Definitely a fan. I don't believe they thin down their nail polish, which is a HUGE plus in my book. I have had my mani/pedi since Saturday and I don't have one chip yet (knock on wood for me), and this is highly unusual for me. Typically my manicure is done for within 3 days, if that. They also give you a 15 minute massage after you're done with your services. Yes, 15 minutes! They have massage girls walking around and honestly, they must be professionally trained because their massages are totally unreal, that I wind up tipping them more than I do for my manicure. They also use a hot towel on your shoulders half-way through. I need this woman in my life every single day. Jade also posts their free Wifi information on the wall, which I greatly appreciate... There is nothing worse than not being able to play Candy Crush while getting a pedicure :P Prices are extremely reasonable for Darien ($33 for both), however, no tips on credit cards, bring cash! I learned the hard way, as they will charge you their credit card fee, hence the -1 star. read more

I had a lovely pedicure, the atmosphere was very nice and all the staff were lovely. However I had a lovely service and then at the end while my nails were drying she asked if she could massage me for 10 min - I have been to many places where they offer a massage after free of change (just a tip for the massage) after she charged me $15 for it. It kinda bummed me out and turned my nice relaxing services into me being annoyed. Maybe it was naive of me to think it was free but every other places I've ever been gives a complimentary massage after. read more

My girl frequents this Spa and requested that I go with her one time. Reluctant & resistant at first, I ended up going to just to keep her company. Now in hindsight, I sure am glad I went! Clean & Relaxing environment and everyone was respectfully aware of the pandemic and wore gloves & masks... properly (not pulled down under their noses). I would personally recommend Sunny! She is great with massages and removing calluses! Not sure if my woman wanted me to tag along on every visit, but my feet haven't felt this good in years... Disappointed...I've been coming here for about 3 years, at least once a month for a gel manicure. The manicure has always been okay to good, but my first experience under this new management was actually pretty mortifying. The manicurist did my nails, and for some reason put on two top coats, and wasn't super careful, so it turned out completely uneven (not smooth and shiny like you pay for a gel to be...) She kind of blamed it on me, huffed about fixing them (only wanted to fix some), and was definitely complaining about it. I'm pretty sure they also overcharged me, because I didn't have to soak off a previous mani or anything. When they saw my engagement ring and found out that I'm nearly 30, and not a "16-year-old with a baby face" (as they announced loudly to the entire salon)...I think they finally realized that I'm not a teenager with a credit card, and did a complete behavioral 180. What was supposed to be a quick mani took forever, and I could not run out of there fast enough! Top 5 most uncomfortable moments. All-in-all I do not plan on going here again... read more

I chose to get a mani pedi here because they have a decent price for Darien. I was disappointed when the employees were yelling to eachother to talk across the room. Then, the woman working on my nails was talking in Spanish to the woman to her side about who of their was sleeping with who and then they began to repeat the word "chucha" over and over again and giggled. I may not look like I speak Spanish, but I know enough to know that that is an inappropriate term to be yelling at my place of work... My mani pedi was fine but the service was lack luster. I tipped and she didn't even thank me. Probably not going back again soon. read more

I have been a customer at Jade since it opened an I have never been disappointed .... until now. Sadly, the longtime owner left, and it is under new management. Prior to the new managers, everyone who got an mani or pedi was given a 15 minute massage while drying your nails. This was NOT an extra charge, it was complimentary, and the massage ladies were AWESOME! They knew everyone and did a great job, and I'm sure got great tips. Now after a brief 2 minute massage, one of the massage ladies asked you if you want 10 or 15 minutes more "but you pay" she said. I'm sure this was hard for her to say to her long time customers because it's the same massage woman who's been there for over 10 years who never charged until recently! All of the regular Jade manicurists are gone, except maybe one, and the new managers are not friendly. Jade is going to lose a lot of customers now because what used to set them apart from all the other places in darien (the manager/owner, the staff and great service AND the awesome massages) won't set them apart any longer. They'll just become another nail place that nickels and dimes their customers over every little thing. It's a shame. read more

I have been a loyal and long-standing customer of Jade and was never disappointed in the service UNTIL recently when James and Sue turned the business over to new management. First, I was told by the new and rude management that they won't accept any previously issued gift certificates - they'd rather lose a customer than deduct $10 off a service. Then, they started charging for services that used to be complimentary like a 15-minute chair massage. The final nail in the coffin is the fact that their best manicurists, Gloria and Rosa, are no longer at the salon. I'm done with this establishment. read more

I go to Jade nails at least twice a month. They give great manicures and pedicures that last a long time. But the best part is the manicurists are all very nice. The massages are fantastic! read more

I joined yelp to write this review. I've been here twice and both times very disappointed. The staff alternate between being totally disinterested and lackluster or having snarky attitudes. Service is slow and the staff act like they're doing you a huge favor, not that you're paying for a service. Avoid! read more

I go to Jade regularly and over the past 3 years they have consistently done a great job. Salon is very large so appointments are not necessary. Sometimes there is a short wait but typically less than 10 mins. Pedicures include nice hot stone massage. They also do a complimentary massage while you are drying ( not always if they are packed). Overall a very nice place. Suggestion: stay open on Sundays read more

I am very upset with the service of this salon. My friend and I got there around 5:30 and had to wait 40 minutes for a manicure. On another note, many of the ladies there always looked at us and gave us dirty looks for talking. The lady who did my nails rushed through the entire process. When she was pushing my cuticles back, she in no way was gentle at all and actually hurt my fingers. She did two coats and I could still see through the polish on some nails! She messed up on almost every single nail, and had to take the polish off my finger with her nail. There was so much on my finger and not on my nail that she had to use nail polish remover and still didn't get it all. While I was waiting, the ladies in front of me all got warm towels and massages while their nails were drying but I didn't and neither did my friend. 10 minutes after my manicure, two of my nails were already chipped. I do not recommend this salon and will not be coming here ever again, not worth the money or time. read more
