Found this place on yelp as I was looking for a new salon around the area. Didn't realize reviews were from over a year ago. Went in asked for mani and pedi and after sitting, got offered (pushed) to do pedicure "spa" option, which to me was nothing extraordinary. After pedicure, lady offered extra $1 for fast dry coat knowing I still have pedicure to do and will need to wait anyway. I chose for the long lasting nail polish which was $5 extra and polish are already chipping after a day. Lady put on hot towel straight on my hand without cooling first, I think she was on a rush for another client. On top of that I got a bit of an infection on one of my nails assuming the tools they use are not clean. The place seem friendly and they seem to know the clients who were there at the time. However, friendliness" should be the standard proper etiquette of any business. I just felt that they pushed to make the most money out of you and I didn't feel at all satisfied with the service given I spend a ton. I will absolutely not be coming back here again and am looking for a better place. read more

I actually feel terrible leaving this review and never feel inclined to leave reviews but within 3 minutes of sitting in the chair my nails were in worse shape than they've ever been in and we agreed that we had to leave. Technicians started ripping and prying the gel off with their fingers and cut down our nails insanely short. They'll need weeks to recover. This was truly the WORST nail experience I've ever had. They say they close at 7:30pm and I go there at 6:05 and asked them to take off my gel manicure. They said they would repaint regular at no cost. They rushed doing my nails and messed them up so badly. They started cleaning up at 7:10pm and literally KICKED ME OUT at 7:29pm at which point they ruined my nails that weren't dry yet. They didn't tell me that they prefer cash only and don't take American Express. They are overpriced, rude and I would hate for anyone to have this experience getting their nails done. I have received pedicures/foot massages, the occasional manicure, and full- body massages to ease the stress and strain of life. I have never been disappointed. This facility is clean and cheerful. The staff is polite and very helpful. The spa is run in an organised fashion; when I make an appointment I have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be served. The entire staff acts in the most professional and respectful manner. And the clientele recognises the quality service. I have always exclusively gone to Cosmo Nail & Spa for my manicure, pedicure, and massage services. They are professional, accommodating, and welcoming. Judy and her staff provide a clean and relaxing (yet efficient) atmosphere for their clients. You can tell the customer's satisfaction is of the upmost importance. Their post COVID-19 response has not disappointed, either. I was in the salon a week after their reopening and felt extremely safe. They are following all CT state guidelines and taking every health precaution. Before customers enter the salon, the staff check to assure they are wearing a mask. Upon entering the salon, customers' temperatures are taken (and staff temperatures are taking periodically during the day) and they can immediately access a hand sanitizing station. Additionally, hand sanitizers are placed throughout the salon and a plexiglass barriers is at every nail station. During pedicures, the staff wear face shields. They seat customers with increased space between them. The staff wear masks, wash their hands between each client, and then use sanitizer before touching a client. The salon smelled and looked clean. Just moved into the area a few weeks ago and was on the hunt for a nail salon closer to home. Came to this location on 12/22/19 and was greeted by everyone. Very friendly enviornment and clean vacinity. I'm a stickler when it comes to mani's & pedi's but I'm glad to say that Mary did an amazing job with my gel mani, pedi & leg wax. This salon is located in a small strip mall. Minimal parking in front, tons of parking behind the building. I met my sister here, as it is exactly halfway between my house and hers, and we needed vacation nails done and final trip planning to go over. We got pedicures, which were expensive. I wasn't sure if there were regular pedicures available, the only menu we saw or was offered to us were spa pedicures, which started at $36. Checking the menu online just now, it looks like they offer normal pedicures starting at $26, but that was not offered to us, and no normal prices/menus were anywhere on the walls or anywhere in the store. Way to take advantage of the new people. The pedicure was good, the ladies were good at their job. My sister's technician seemed new and kept checking in with my technician to see if she was missing a step. Then, towards the end of my treatment, I guess my technician had an appointment come in so she rushed me up and out of my chair, causing me to smudge the fresh polish (she then crouched on the ground and painted over and over instead of redoing the polish), and then disappeared while my sister's technician finished us up and took our money. Not sure I'll be back here again. There are a bunch of options right on this stretch of road. We'll try a few more places before we decide what our normal meetup spot will be. read more

First time going- got a pedicure with color and manicure no color and was out the door in 25 mins!! For the pedicure I wish they would scrub and massage more- the manicure the nails aren't cut evenly and there is a lot of cuticle left. I was convinced to try a gel manicure. The nail tech nicked my cuticles, making them bleed, blamed it on my dry skin. In addition she charged me $60!!!! Just the week before I paid for a family member's gel manicure and it was $35, another family member goes regularly and is charged $35. Cosmo is accommodating, spacious, and professional. The service is top quality and consistent. During the pandemic this place has been particularly thoughtful, putting out hand sanitizer and clean masks if needed. I've also watched them sanitize surfaces after service. Love this place. It is very spacious, clean, and everyone is so friendly. The prices are very reasonable and they always do a great mani/pedi. I don't do acrylics, gel, or powder so I can't speak to that. I just do regular polish. They also do nail art for only an additional $5. My friend goes here all the time and I finally went a few months ago and now it is the ONLY place I go. I highly recommend Cosmo. I also wanted to add that I just read the rest of the reviews on here and I wanted to say that I love that the owner takes the time to read the reviews and respond and offers to make things right for people who weren't completely happy. Cosmo nails is a wonderful nail salon. It is extremely clean and the ladies are very very nice. When I get my nails done I bring in pictures from the internet and they draw whatever I would like and it has never failed to be fabulous. They are slightly more affordable than other places and certainly more eager to please the customer (NEVER go to Great Nails-awful). Also, Cosmo is actually owned by two of the nail techs who were mistreated and underpaid during that scandal in Stamford a few years back. They employ a lot of the other people who were in the same situation back then- bussed in from somewhere in NY and barely making a livable wage.
