This is a Thai Costco like wholesale store near LA Chinatown and walking distance from the LA Metro station. There is no membership required to shop here. You will find a large selection of Thai groceries in this cavernous warehouse store. Though sizing will vary as some items are too big and intended more for restaurants. Some of the reasonable size items I bought here include instant Thai tea, wonton noodles and Thai-Chinese sausages. The store has also a nice selection of prepared Thai foods and there is a stand outside that sells Thai coconut pancakes on weekends. Checkout here is rather slow, but acceptable given the difficulty of finding such a large assortment of Thai groceries in one location. read more

You can find a lot of Asian grocery items such as rice, spices, condiments, seafood, meats, vegetables, cooking equipment, dishes and even restaurant supplies such as menu covers, receipts, pens, etc. For example, if you love boba and you want to make it at home yourself, you can get all the fixings here. If you meal prep and you need meal prep containers and are spending more than $1/container, get it here. If you have a big family and you want to buy your items in bulk, come here. It's more like a warehouse so don't expect a Crate & Barrel environment. Some might judge but trust me, it's the same stuff you'll find at other stores but will cost you 2-10x more. Anyway, bottom line is if you don't mind a little dust and want to save money, make a trip here and make sure you have space in your trunk so you can make your trip worthwhile. Haven't been here in a really long time. So glad I did! They literally have everything you need - from different rice, noodles and condiments from different countries, frozen meat, frozen seafood, vegetables like bok choy, Chinese eggplant, green beans, morning glory, enoki mushrooms, etc. (Basically, all types of vegetables used for Asian cooking- in BULK.) They even have containers for meal prep- restaurant to go containers, toiletries, etc. All the boba drink necessities you need to make at home or for parties. (Did it for my daughter's birthday - all her friends loved it.) Prices are decent, especially for what you get. A long time ago, my late uncle told me if I need anything to make authentic Thai meals, go to LAX-C. I recall thinking... it's by LAX airport and never thought to go. After his passing, I looked it up, and discovered it's a massive Thai wholesale grocery emporium just outside of Chinatown. I've been going there ever since. I regularly go to stock up on 50 lb. bags of jasmine rice, canned bamboo, jackfruit, quail eggs, coconut milk, curry paste, fish sauce, palm juice, frozen sai oua, ha mok, and usually any seasonal items not available anywhere else. I tend to avoid buying fresh produce and meats. But I always get fresh made grab it ready-to-go krapoh pla, moo larb, nam prik kapi, and Thai desserts at their deli food counter near the front corner before checkout. There's also local Thai vendors making fresh hot coconut cakes, and fresh made som tum among other things in the parking lot. Lots of Thai restaurant owners go here to get their supplies, so don't be scared when you're in line with your shopping cart when they're pushing platform dolly full of supplies. I love this place. The Thai Costco label is pretty accurate. Parking is pretty scarce, but we were allowed to park in the adjacent loading zone. When we went on a Saturday, there were some street food vendors out too! LAX-C has it all - snacks, produce, meats, household products, bulk foods, frozen foods, imported snacks/foods/etc, sauces, spices...they even have a separate show room for more home goods like decor and kitchenware. A few of the aisles were blocked with merchandise, and the place is definitely more of a warehouse, but the prices are really good and their offerings will have me coming back to stock up. They also sell food inside - pricing is good on some things, high for others. I thought the food was more on the salty side, but the nam pla gapi (I can't type Thai here???) was really good. Protip: cash and debit aren't subject to the 3% surcharge or whatever for credit. read more

This place is fucking cool. She called it the Thai version of Costco - but honestly that's not accurate. It's a warehouse to shop for all things Asian cuisine and then some. 50lb bag of CalRose rice? Got it. Lay's chips from China in flavors not found in the US? Check. Frozen seafood? Yup. Decor for a variety of Asian themed restaurants? You betcha. Come on down and explore. I can't believe it took me so long to go to this place. My friend who owns a Thai restaurant mentioned it years ago. I love how you can buy everything you need to make Thai food at home and at wholesale prices! Think fresh wide noodles still warm for pad see ew! There are a few delightful Thai street food booths outside and LAX-C sells prepared meals inside. Prepare for authentic Thai items like insect paste! Make a day of it by shopping and grabbing a snack and feel like you went to Thailand without ever leaving LA. They had parking and it's convenient to the Chinatown metro stop. read more

Parking is a bit cramped but we always manage to find parking somewhere. It has a wide variety of ingredients. Some stuff was more expensive than other Asian grocery stores in SGV. Not sure if price is hiked because this is in LA. I love how I can find most Asian ingredients here like halaya ube jam and thai tea! Also, during the weekend, they have food vendors outside. Be careful guys. I bought a six pack of Darlie toothpaste and found out that it was expired 9 years ago. It was made in 2013 and expired on 2016. I bought them in 2025 after I used it I can feel that the taste is weird so I take a look and found out that it expired long time ago. I tried to call Lax-c two times they put me on hold for 20 minutes and I gave up. Last week i called again and talk to the guys ask them to send me a new one as I live far away (not in Los angeles) if i do an exchange I had to drive 7 hours from my place but they cannot do anything. Not too bad. I feel they are doing better about getting rid of expired stuff since I didn't see any on this trip. The food at the food court had changed for the worse I'm afraid. Had the catfish dish and it was not tasty at all. I don't think they are using red curry paste. It has a off putting after taste. Same with the steamed fish (ha mok). It had potential but there was not enough curry in it. The warehouse accepts debit and credit card but you will pay 3% if using credit. No charge for debit. Outside they sell street food on weekends. LAX-C is your one stop shop for Thai and other southeast Asian groceries. It feels like an Asian Costco tucked in the city. Come here for groceries on the cheap! I like to come here to restock my sauces since I don't have to buy a minimum per item and just have to pay a minimum of ~$15-20 for my whole cart. Be aware though that meat and veggies are available only in bulk. The real gem is the little to-go restaurant inside the grocery store. At only about $12 for a 2 piece combo with rice, it's a steal. Food is fresh. Portions are generous and the food feels homey. There is a good amount of parking and also a couple of restaurants and cafes in the same plaza you can stop by. read more

My first visit I had no clue what this place was...or what it really entailed. I came here since it looked like a very large asian supermarket so I had to check it out. It was a bit overwhelming my first visit & I had no need to really shop there, just wanted to simply check it out. This was a couple years ago, pre pandemic. When I see the modern Thai words near the entrance of the store, my heart longs for BKK & all the Thai things. I have found that Thai items are sort of a rarity here in the US, yeah you can get certain items like oyster sauce & instant noodles, but some brands & kitchenware are hard to find & those require a transaction at a specialty Thai market. Through my trips I purchased a clay mortar & pestle (viet stores do NOT sell these!!), a sticky rice basket (Kratip), healthy boy brand soy sauces (these you can find in certain stores, but are a lil difficult to find), tamarind chopping block, thai mushroom seasoning cubes, enamel trays (white rabbit brand) & other items. For a first time visit, this place will seem overwhelming & its best to visit if you're looking for a specific thai item. The store has a smell to it & reminds me of southeast asia. It's dusty in there but just adds to the character of the store. There's A LOT to see but there's such an awesome selection of kitchenware, especially if you're a restaurant owner or a cooking enthusiast. Just an FYI... there's a 3% surcharge for card transactions, & all card transactions are $20 minimum. The hours also suck, as they close early at 4. Overall, I love this place it's basically an asian restaurant depot. My only complaint is I wish they stocked more Thai items (not just an assortment of asian items you can get anywhere) as this store caters to mostly Thai food & product. read more

I love roaming "Thai Costco." I never get a shopping cart because I could do a lot of damage here. If I needed fish sauce, soy sauce or fresh bagged Asian veggies, I would come here and just walk the aisles and get something else you might need in the kitchen. I would maybe also pick up a dish or two at the little restaurant inside selling a variety of Thai food at a steam table for $11/$12/$13 combos with rice. They also have desserts like durian and sticky rice. In the parking lot, there are chicken and pork barbecue skewers and other dishes to try like papaya salad. You can also find freshly made kanom krok or coconut cakes and other desserts. The kanom krok was a little too sweet for me here. Next door to LAX-C is a Thai tea boba shop where you can buy Thai iced tea or coffee, matcha tea and more. Visiting LAX-C is great way to get some steps in on a Sunday morning before eating some Thai food in the car or at the LA Historic Park if you want to extend your walk there with a Thai food picnic. LAX-C, located technically in Chinatown, although not in the area where you would find all the small stores and eateries, this gigantic warehouse is known as the Thai or Asian Costco (but smelly and dirtier than regular Costco). LAX-C has its own parking lot with free parking and has outdoor vendors that sell Thai dishes that include barbecue pork and chicken skewers, coconut cakes and papaya salad, but is only available on weekends and is CASH ONLY. Now as for LAX-C itself, you will find a pleather of all things Asian (dry noodles, rice, spices/ seasonings, soy sauce by the gallon, pot ware, teas, Asian snacks, meats, fish paste and so much more (I am sure my fellow Yelp members photos can give you a good idea). There are lot of items sold that are from Thailand, Malaysia, China and Singapore. This restaurant supply store has prices that I think are comparable to Asian markets like Ranch 99. But as mentioned, this place is definitely not the cleanest. When walking down the aisle that sells rice (in large bag sizes) I smelled urine. There is also dust on a lot of items and for some reason, I saw rice rolls randomly on a wooden palette in the middle of the aisle. In the very far back to the left (if you entering the store), there is a whole section that sells pots/ pans, dishes, Thai statues, etc. Right in front of the fresh seafood section, there is a small barbecue express that you can purchase food items from steam tables (in case you come on a week day and those vendors I had mentioned above are not available for you to purchase their delicious food items). The food items can be purchased in a combo form, with or without rice (you can check out my photo for the menu). My husband and I came by this market yesterday afternoon, a little before 12:30 pm. After we had lunch outside, we decided to do some shopping inside the store an hour later. It wasn't crowded inside, although there was a long line at check out (but did go by faster than expected). We ended up purchasing various instant teas that are from Singapore (according to a friend of mine who is from Singapore that these brands are popular back home), Lays potato chips with unique flavors to Thailand (truffle and boat noodle), snack crackers and gas for our small stove (the ones you would buy to do hot pot at home). Surprisingly the 4 pack gas was actually cheaper than the ones you purchase at H Mart or 99 Ranch (by ~$2- 3). Please note that there is a 3% surcharge for credit card transactions and you need to spend at least $20 if you do use a credit card. I am glad that I had enough cash on hand to pay for my purchase to save on the transaction fee. Overall, I had a great shopping experience and would love to purchase the instant teas again when I am in the area and probably some more of those small gas packs too. read more

We had heard things about LAX-C from friends claiming it was Thai CostCo so we wanted to check it out. LAX-C is located on the outskirts of Chinatown near downtown LA in a large, gated lot. There are a number of restaurants within the same lot and parking was pretty hit or miss as we witnessed some fairly atrocious parking when we were there. When we went, there was only one gate open to enter and exit so keep that in mind when coming and going. The actual store itself is a bit of a rundown looking warehouse. It reminded me of Asian grocery stores in the SVG in the 80s so it didn't bother me. There were rows of refrigerated and freezer units a little bit in with rows of shelved goods further behind. I would recommend going directly to the back to shop dry items and then pick up cold stuff on your way back front. Selection felt both extensive and limiting at the same time because while there was a variety of items being offered, most items didn't have multiple brand options of the same item. Prices seemed very reasonable as far as I could tell and there were prices posted for single items or whole cases. We will certainly be back the next time we want to stock up on Asian groceries/staples. Last tip, pay w cash or debit as credit cards have a 3% fee. read more

[Parking]: Has a free private parking lot, but parking can a bit chaotic during busy hours. [Weekend outdoor vendors & menu]: On Saturday and Sunday, customers will find two makeshift stalls selling tom yum soup noodle, yellow tail poppers, yellowtail deep fry, soft shell crab, taro milk cake (kanom babin), Thai pancake roll (kanom tokin), Thai chili flakes with crispy pork, coconut waffles, papaya salad, skewers (BBQ pork/BBQ chicken), coconut cakes, Thai sausage, and chicken/taro puff. You will NOT find Pad Thai or Pad See Ew here. [Indoor]: The massive indoor emporium selling Thai packaged goods, spices, and miscellaneous products (random kitchenware, electronics, Thai religious items, elephant statues, etc). Prices aren't exactly super competitive, but they do offer bulk discount. There's also a small deli located right next to the cashier counters. *** Tom yum soup noodle (mild spicy - $10): It was not bad at all - broth had a good balance of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors and mild spiciness level was just right. Taro milk cake (kanom babin - $6): This dessert had a very similar texture to Chinese New Year sweet rice cake or Japanese mochi, but these cakes just had taro flavor instead. BBQ pork skewer ($3): I was told skewer was a bit fatty, but I thought it was pretty good. $3 is slightly expensive, but portion was fairly generous. *** Wat Thai of Los Angeles in North Hollywood still has the best Thai weekend food court, but I do stop by Chinatown about half a dozen time a year so it is just more convenient to visit LAX-C as Sun Valley is out of the way. read more

I was excited to shop here for the ChaTraMue teas. However I believe they are all old and expired because the expiration dates have been removed. On some of them there are traces of the dates but are not clear on the packaging and I was able to find a few bags that I'm guessing they forgot to remove. It's very concerning since the expiration date was Aug of 2023 and today is Aug 1st 2025! The production date was Aug of 2021, which means the product is 4 yrs old. There are a ton of Thai products but unless you are going to make in bulk you can probably get it at your local Thai grocer. I do wish you could order online and have it shipped out.
