I've seen a lot of doctors in my life, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr. Stepanenko was one of the most disrespectful physicians I have ever encountered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm done with disrespectful doctors who treat people like second-class citizens.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We aren't impressed that you went to medical school if you never learned empathy, kindness, compassion, or how to treat another human being with respect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Apparently Dr. Stepanenko either wasn't taught, or doesn't believe in, bedside manner. Because she has none.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I watched her treat the medical assistant like he was beneath her right in front of me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I watched her back a lot too, since she spent much of the appointment sitting and typing at the computer rather than looking her patient in the eyes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She couldn't seem to remember what she said to my face by the time she turned around to type it five seconds later, then was rude to the medical assistant when he did his best to remember for her as she demanded he repeat what she had just said so she could enter it into her laptop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When she asked me what had worked for me in the past related to the issue I was experiencing, she yelled at me that she doesn't prescribe some of those things.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I didn't care whether she did or didn't. I was simply answering her question, yet she responded with a level of hostility and contempt that was shocking. She never properly examined me or put her hands on me to determine what might be going on. Instead, she made a series of assumptions and ordered unnecessary tests. I know those assumptions were entirely inaccurate because I went to see another practitioner who helped me resolve the issue in a single appointment with no testing needed, and who was appalled when I shared my experience with Dr. Stepanenko. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Her behavior was unacceptable and inexcusable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will never return to Jaffe. It has become a revolving door of doctors, and patients deserve better. My husband went to the Jaffe facility in Cape Coral, on DelPrado, for almost one year. He got excellent results from a broken hip and really liked the therapists there He needs to go again for falling and balance issues. If zero stars were an option, that would be my rating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Before traveling for work, I confirmed with this office that my Low-dose naltrexone (LDN) and Lyrica could be refilled while I was away. I take it every night to support my immune system and to help reduce pain and inflammation. They assured me this would not be a problem and continued refilling it for months[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Then, without any warning, they suddenly refused to refill my prescription. They are the original prescribers, and I have been taking it for years. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called on a Thursday with one week of medication remaining and did not receive a callback until Monday, when they informed me they would not authorize the refill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] By that point, I had only four days of LDN left. They suggested that I find a doctor where I was staying and schedule an appointment when I returned home. This was completely unrealistic, as it is nearly impossible to obtain a same-day or next-day appointment with a new physician. I had to stop everything I was doing and treat this as an emergency. With the assistance of my pharmacy, I was able to find another practitioner on Florida's East Coast who provided an emergency prescription so I would not have to go without a medication I rely on every night to function. Was seen day after call at 8.45 on a Friday AM. They were to call prescriptions to my local pharmacy. Went to my local pharmacy at end of day. No prescription called in. Let the buyer beware! I tried working with them regarding leg pains I am experiencing. Their PT instructors seem qualified and know what their doing. The positive experience ends there. They are totally ignorant or simply don't want to bother with insurance requirements regarding the services they provide. Several times I was provided with instructions on ordering tests or equipment and end-up paying unnecessarily out-of-pocket or canceling tests at the last minute to avoid having to personally pay for them. They apparently even have staff that for whatever reason, are not part of insurance coverage resulting in me paying out-of-pocket while being serviced at a facility that is in my network. Of course, none of this was explained to me and when I learned about it from my insurer - it was too late. I've gone back to my primary care Dr. and received another referral and I've clued him in totally about my experience so he can avoid making another referral to them. read more

Went there three times on referral, first tests, then evaluation, prescribed drugs that were not correct for condition, then came back to see how drugs were doing. Decided not to remedy my issue with drugs, so did not return. Billing wants to charge for therapeutic exercises $75.00 and $63.00 for self care management training for giving me basic stretches listed on a sheet of paper. I was also charged for extended visit due to them leaving me wait in exam room, due to their scheduling issues. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! The call is returned between now and never‼ When there are 6-8 people setting behind desk, why not answer the phone and cut to the chase?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Voice mail must be reviewed by someone and that someone needs to refer the contact to another for a response. This could be efficiently handled by answering the call in the first place?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Example, I was at Mayo, Rochester from 12/1-12/16-two weeks. I needed a lower back facet nerve ablation. Mayo needed Jaffe medical records to facilitate doing the ablation. Received from Mayo today: "Unfortunately Jaffee Sports Medicine did not return my phone message and did respond to the authorization that was faxed to them requesting your medical records. Three attempts were made to request your records." One would think when the foremost medical facility in the world contacts you for information you would at least have the courtesy to return the call or fax the requested information‼ Not Jaffe‼ Unable to receive the needed treatment from Mayo during my stay, without duplicating the scans and test done at Jaffe, I left not receiving the treatment. In my opinion, they should not be licensed! I am filing a State medical complaint against the facility. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Meantime, I will go directly the Jaffe to get copies of my records. I had a nerve and muscle conduction test done 2 1/2 weeks ago. The Dr promised that I would receive an e-mail with his report the next day. I also asked the receptionist to make sure that they emailed the report as I was traveling and wanted to see the results. She assured me they would. It is now 2 1/2 weeks later and they have not sent it. I have called 4 times and left messages requesting this. No one ever answers the phone on ANY of the extensions...and no one has the curtesy to call me back. read more

I wouldn't even rate with 1 star. I saw Ruthanne Merritt and explained my constant back pain for over 6 months. She told me to wait for Radiology Regional to call me to schedule an MRI. If I would have waited, I never would have had an MRI because you call them to schedule. She told me they can basically deny you and say they're too busy. I've had my results back for 3 weeks now & have called this office several times with no response back. Now I understand her comments were pertaining to her own business ethic. The physicians would come by while you were having physical therapy and say hey how are you how's therapy going? Great and then turn around and bill you and your insurance For an ADDITIONAL OFFICE VISIT, when you were there doing physical therapy And ALREADY paying for physical therapy. My husband had an appointment at 11:45am, with Dr. Ranasinghe, and we arrived at 11:35am. At 12 noon, the receptionist asked if we would wait until 1pm, so the doctor could eat lunch. This was most disrespectful to a patient. We walked out of the office. read more

I had very bad back pain and with pain shooting down my legs. I went to Jaffe Sports Medicine the Veterans Park location. Dr Tandatnick saw me and decided that it would be good to give me a shot in the back on the left and right side over a 2 week period. It sounds bad a shot in the back but it really didn't hurt at all. The Doctor talked me through it and the results have been great. The staff and Dr Tandatnick were great. dr. yu was who i was assigned to when i made an appointment, he didnt care to listen and interupted me multiple times while i was trying to explain my pain. he told me i needed an emg, one of the the most expensive test they offer as well as multiple xrays and supposedly he found nothing. he proceded to tell me my pain was all in my head instead of trying to help me figure it out... i decided to go to a new doctor for a second opinion, he had me get an mri and i found out i have to have hip surgery so clearly it wasn't psychological problem, dr. yu is the problem! in addition the front desk staff was rude. she sat there and gossiped while people waited, they were running late so i spoke up and she gave me nothing but attitude. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews. No facility is perfect nor it's staff but this place comes pretty damn close. For me personally I couldn't be much more happy with the treatment I have been receiving. The staff has been incredibly kind and professional, the two DO's I have had the pleasure of meeting with have been outstanding. They were Dr Jaffe himself and their new addition, Dr. Levchenko. Location? Veterans Park. My PT providers are Larry and Amy, both exceptional in their field and genuinely nice human beings. Special props go to Amy, she is a total rock-star. If you need deep tissue and trigger point massage she is out of this world. Jen at the front desk does an outstanding job and will go out of her way to assist, she's awesome. Not to gush but everyone has been just super, they have a great crew. As for what this facility has to offer? Having a PT/PM clinic that does in-house procedures can be a financial lifesaver. Steering clear of NCH and it's price gouging is huge for me and I carry awesome insurance so that should say something. I would be so screwed co-pay wise if I had to use NCH or Lee M. outpatient facilities, for this am am VERY grateful. As for procedures, pills, PT, whatever, being forced on me? Nothing like that has happened. Anyone that has ever dealt with PM in the past should be able to relate to this, there used to be pill mills now they have injection mills. I was actually shocked that my first "injection" procedure turned out to be diagnostic. I had assumed they would just go straight to steroid injections, most clinics nowadays do as this is where the money is. That was huge for me and makes me respect them and trust them. Add to this that the injections are done with a fluoroscope instead of blindly speaks volumes as well, I can't understate the importance of this, it's massive. So yeah, I like this place. read more

Cannot even give them 1/2 a star, STAY AWAY! They are still billing me after more than 2 years for "treatment" I did not receive from a so called Doctor who asked me 4 times what I came in for. He did nothing and then lied to me as a ploy to get me to sign up for a round of PT. This "Dr." Kept leaving the room and every time he returned he asked who I was and why I was there. I finally told him where to go and left. Made an appointment with a REAL Doctor five days later who honored my request and did not lie to me. read more

I required physical therapy on an injury to my right calf muscle. If you are desperate and can not find an alternative, ask them: 1) the cost of the Eval? I was never told it would be a full Dr. visit with a less than qualified Dr. Yet my insurance and I were charged as if the Dr. was a specialist. 2) get everything in writing. I have had physical therapy in Massachusetts. The pre-evaluation meeting is with the therapist. They evaluate my abilities and map out plan. They misrepresented our first meeting. This resulted in my insurance not covering the full cost. My experience with the rehab was extremely bad. I walked into the physical therapy office. After the 2nd meeting, I was in extreme pain. It got so bad during the weekend, that I had to undo the muscle wrapping. I was no longer able to walk without a cane. They made things worse. It took me 3 weeks to get back to where I initially contacted them. After 1 year, I was contacted by them with an outstanding balance. It took them 1 year to do the billing. A well equipped, professionally run, site. As a senior citizen we are often told that we can't expect much at our age. My improvement was 100%. My physical therapist was empathetic and professional. Though I was only in Florida for two months we worked out a mutually agreeable schedule and was able to decrease the times per week after a month. I have had a few experiences with physical therapists both in Massachusetts and in Florida and Jaffe was the worst. I had PRP from a doctor in Sarasota. He wrote explicit recommendations for a treatment plan. My first visit at Jaffe Sports Medicine was with a doctor who seemed to have an attitude and a judgement. Commenting on my choosing a doctor in Sarasota as well as commenting that he would not have recommended the plan than the Sarasota docotor recommended. His attitude was judgemental, uncalled for and unsolicited. That visit lasted about no more than 5 minutes where they escorted my to the desk to make an appointment with a PT for the next week. First of all I did not need a doctor's visit, I already had one in Sarasota.. And secondly whenever I go to a PT my first visit is actually with a PT where they do a very helpful evaluation. Their protocol means it is about two visits before you actually begin treatment. Insurance companies would be appalled I would think if they knew what they were paying for. A great PT recommendation in Naples is Fyzical on Goodlet Frank and in Bonita Springs is Blue Sky Therapy off of Bonita Beach Road. Good luck everybody and feel well. read more

While David in PT is fantastic, the medical end is uneducated and fraudulent. I went to Jaffe on Veterans with specific physical therapy orders from my spinal neurosurgeon after very serious surgery at the U of Miami. I agreed to have one medical intake visit in order to use their physical therapist. Dr. Rojas admitted that is was lucky that my surgeon had written such specific orders, as he clearly didn't understand my medical condition. Despite clearly telling the front desk that Dr. Rojas is not my doctor, every month Dr. Rojas would rudely interrupt my therapy to ask, "how is it going?" in a social, not medical, manner. I begged the staff to stop letting him interrupt me and I said I hoped I wasn't paying for this. I was told I wasn't paying as evidenced by my lack of copay. Later, I found that each of those short social interruptions had cost my insurance company hundreds of dollars a time. This unfortunately remains legal practice on paper, but it is still fraudulent, immoral, and greedy on a disgusting level. I cannot support it and am sad to lose the help from my PT. read more

Sent me to the wrong location with the Dr. that specializes in pain management instead of sports injuries. Was not seeking pain meds. They had me fill out a form evaluating my ability to take meds without issues and charged $100 for me to fill out a form for drugs I did not want. After some therapy for a hamstring injury, they asked if I wanted some kinesio tape...sure I said. The charged $60 for putting on two strips of tape. I am a cash patient and they did not discuss charges with me before hand. The total charges for a visit for a strained hamstring were $430. That is crazy. Should be $150 at the most based on past experience. To their credit they are refunding a portion of the charges. I would not use them again. read more

Spent nearly 2 months in rehab at Jaffe following hip replacement. Misdiagnosed and mistreated what they diagnosed as surgical abrasions. Operating physician adviised to stop using them as their treatment likely caused nerve damage. They are solely focused on revenue generation at the expense of proper patient care. I've been with Jaffe Sports Medicine for a year. I see Dr. Levchenko on a monthly basis. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. This will be lengthy but to understand why I rate them so highly, it's worth the read. In Sept. of 2015 I began so have trouble lifting my left foot and I started catching my toes and tripping. The pain from my back was incredible and although I had injured my back 20 years ago, I'd had no big physical issues. I went to several doctors to find the issue. I went to see a surgeon in Fort Myers because my neurologist here in Naples said I needed immediate surgery. The surgeon refused to touch my back and referred me to pain management and physical therapy with Jaffe. I was broken and terrified that I would have to live like I was living. It hurt so bad to move that I cried with the slightest movements. I couldn't ride my bike or walk my dog to say the least. Dr. Levchenko took one look at my MRI and told me to go to the hospital immediately because I had Cauda Equina Syndrome (not going into detail but look it up, it's a serious issue) and time was of the essence. I went to the hospital for evaluation and they were going to release me because apparently 'I was in no immediate danger' although I had lost the use of my left leg, my bowel and my bladder function. I asked them to call Dr. Levchenko and within an hour I was admitted. I spent two weeks in the hospital and had to be transferred to The University of Florida-Shands hospital for surgery to try to save some of my function. My condition was so serious in fact, that I rode for several hours in an ambulance immobilized, to try to prevent further injury. If it had not been for Dr. Levchenko's assistance, I have no doubt that I would be wheelchair bound at this point. If I indeed would have been able to sit in a chair. Since surgery in November of 2015, I've gained more of my function back than anyone could have predicted. Although my left leg is numb and I still have problems that won't go away, I am able to walk for short periods and can even ride my bike on occasion! Unfortunately, pain is a consequence of waiting 20 years to seek assistance but they've given me several suggestions to assist with pain management without pain medications. I love this because I'm terrified of becoming dependent on pain medication. Pill seekers won't get satisfaction here, but anyone interested in getting better will get the best treatment available in my opinion. Pain management doctors get a bad reputation but I owe my function and indeed, my life as it is now to Dr. Levchenko. I am in a transition right now from private insurance to medicare and although I am paying out of pocket I continue to see him. I noticed that several people have said that Jaffe is focused on revenue generation. They are a business and as such, they do exist solely on revenue BUT I have been very honest with them when I could not afford to continue with physical therapy due to monetary constraints and the therapists there have given me exercise cheat sheets to help me do exercises at home. Five stars isn't enough! read more

I went to Jaffe for pain in my thumb joint. I had already scheduled surgery up north in 2 months time, so I was looking for temporary relief. The pain was not severe, just annoying. They suggested a cortisone injection that lessened my immediate pain. I never scheduled another appointment and never went back. 2 full years later and never before, I received an invoice from them. I was charged for a new patient visit and the injection. In addition I was charged $170 for psychological testing. I was never informed nor would I have agreed to enter a pain management program. My insurance covered only a portion of that visit. They have not removed that charge and gave no reasonable explanation for not receiving an invoice for 2 years. The billing agent was not only unhelpful, but unwilling to engage in any dialog over the rationale for this charge. I would never recommend this facility. read more

After speaking with the receptionist on Jan 24. About being seen for and drainage of the bursa.i was quoted 110-220$ explained I had taken a oral cortisone steroid and did not help. They failed to be able to drain the bursa and then injected cortisone into after knowing I had already had it. When I went to check out I was charged 387$ almost doubt the estimate. And then told the cortisone was a 200 dollar shot. (Medexpress) charges 50. When i said that is not what I was quoted. All they could say is sorry but that is what we charged you. For any business, even a Drs office, to make you wait this long, with no communication as to "why" is unacceptable and disrespectful. I am taking my business elsewhere. read more

The physical therapists were beyond incredible and helpful! What ruined my experience was Dr.Fernando's physician's assistant! She thinks she's a doctor and kept pushing these nerve pills on me when I didn't even have neurological problems to begin with! Then when I'd tell her no, she'd manipulate me and made me feel stupid even through the pills she talked me into made me sicker than ever! Makes me think she only cares about pharmaceuticals/money, then the patient's health! read more
