They lack respect and will not honor advertised features! I purchased a used car through them and was given the shaft when advertised features were missing. The good: their staff was generally easy to work with, financing department didn't pull any funny business. The bad: I settled on a price that was slightly above advertised price despite my better judgement, but only after haggling them down 2k from their inflated pre-installed "add-ons". The ugly: Traveled 5 hrs on crutches! - since I am a man of word and came out to settle on the date agreed despite a recent injury. Signed the deal and then learned: 1) car only had 1 fob, 2) an advertised feature (on their website) was absent from the vehicle. When I politely requested this be rectified I was told management would not honor their advertised features - sorry not sorry. So I go through hell to honor my side of a deal and they won't even come up with a few hundred to make things right and honor their clearly advertised features. Made a service appointment online 18 days in advance to have my tire pressure monitors synched to my XJ8's computer system, a process that takes maybe 30-60 minutes. I arrived on time (Friday 8:15am) for my appointment. Waited 15 minutes to meet with the service rep. Told him what I needed to have done even though it is already described in my online appointment request, explained I'm in town for the weekend and wanted this service done here because the Jag dealership in Pasadena had closed down. He then excused himself to go speak with his service manager, comes back and says they won't be able to complete the job until Monday (three days later) because they were "too busy" servicing other cars. The guy knew I was only here for the weekend. I think they conjured an excuse not to accept the work because it was a small job, they couldn't upsell me on a larger bill, so they made up this excuse to get rid of me. Such a waste of time. I am extremely dissapointed with the Service Department and Advisor Sam (Samual Zuniga). I brought in my vehicle for a Warranty-covered leak on my Coolant system. Zuniga could not schedule me because he had no car to provide me as a loaner. I informed him that the coolant level was low, and he advised me to make sure I added coolant, which I did to ensure the car did not overheat. However, I did so by purchasing coolant in a different color for Jaguars, Audi, and other European vehicles. I also needed new tires and got an estimate from American Tire Depot of $250 for the same tires I had. Toyota dealership also performs alignments for $85 for any vehicle. Zuniga informed me that they would beat these rates. I even gave him the company phone number and names to verify this information. He stated they would beat the rates. Today, I got a text and then a call from him advising the following: The tire cost was $1412, $400 more than I can get done at American Tire Depot and American Tire. For tire balance rotation, he discounted it to $299.99; then, to top it off, he stated that since the wrong fluid color of coolant was added, they wanted to charge $425.85 to drain the fluid and replace it. I told him I did what they asked me to do: add fluids. I got the fluids for my car, making sure it was for a Jaguar, and he stated, "Well, it's a different color and not the correct one..." I informed him that I added fluids based on fixing the leak on the Warranty and his guidance since they could not schedule me on time, and I needed to drive the car. He stated there is nothing he can do. On top of that... before he picked up the phone to speak with me, I overheard the following conversation..." yes...turn on the recorder, yes we are recording this..." simply meaning he wanted to make sure this conversation between him and me was recorded. That is highly unprofessional and rude. I have had previous contacts with Mr. Zuniga, and they have been positive, so I don't know how his character and behavior have changed in the last couple of years. Very disappointing. read more

On a recent trip, we experienced a tire blowout 25 miles from Palm Springs in the middle of nowhere. I called jaguar of Rancho Mirage and was told that they had a tire in stock, but we're closing in four minutes. I asked Ivan Lara-service manager if you might be able to keep one of the mechanics for another 30 to 45 minutes, SoSo he could put the new tire on our old rim once the car was brought in by the tow truck. Two hours later, the flatbed brought the Jaguar in and Ivan Lara and Josh Johnson the mechanic proved that customer service and integrity are alive and well at this dealership. I owe many thanks to these great men and this is one of the reasons we will buy our third range rover without any hesitations. Thank you for making the experience flawless. read more

They dented my car while on the rack for repair and I even paid out of my pocket to have the dent removed and Sam my rep that helped me just ghosted me after he said he had turned in the bill and was waiting for the check to be cut , and after I drove 4 hrs one way for the service!! I had a negative experience at this dealership trying to buy a used F-type. What happened: We agreed on the price of the car, the delivery was coordinated, and just as we were finalizing financing they tried to pull a higher interest rate on me despite my 800+ credit score and high income ($200k+). I knew I qualified for the 0.9% and 1.9% Jaguar promotional interest rates but dealers get paid a profit for getting customers to agree to a higher interest rate (Google "finance reserve" or "dealer reserve") so they tried to convince me the higher rate was the best rate I could qualify for and that they get 'nothing' from offering a higher interest rate. When I hinted I was going to walk away from the deal, I got a call from the sales manager that the 0.9% and 1.9% interest rates magically reappeared. As someone who was trying to coordinate buying a luxury sports car sight unseen to be shipped to Northern California, I was putting a lot of trust in this dealership, but this made me seriously question their integrity and made me extremely uncomfortable so I ended up cancelling the deal. I'm a very easy customer: to-the-point, serious on purchasing, and willing to let dealers make a profit as long as they're transparent with their methods. Ultimately, it's not about the extra $40-$50 per month in the monthly payment they tried to squeeze from me which I could easily afford-- it's about integrity-- and the last minute stunt was a huge stumble at the finish line of what could've been an easy sale for Jaguar Rancho Mirage. The result: I have 2 hard credit inquiries on my credit report that negatively affect my credit score and no car to show for it. I don't recommend this dealership. read more

I have a 2004 Jaguar XJ8. I was turned away because JRM doesn't service Jaguars built in or before 2008. That would probably be because they don't have the tools or expertise to work on anything other than what the Indian owned company that bought Jaguar in 2008 puts out. I'm old school. If a service department is at a Jaguar dealership then they should service all Jaguars. I suspect that tooling up would be expensive as would the training. But protecting the brand should be a matter of pride. Jaguar loses standing when they outdate their cars. No service means lower sale value after purchase. Which is the case when you buy a Jaguar compared to a BMW or Mercedes. read more

I randomly stopped in this week with my 2007 X-Type Sportwagon which is new to me. I had a question about how to reset my fuel oxygen sensor and a key fob issue. I was met by Service Manager, Chad Ingram who was extremely friendly and helpful. I purchased the car from a Washington state dealer and it arrived without plates. I asked Chad if he had a could of license plate frames I could have to throw on the car while I wait for my plates. Chad hooked me up with Indigo plate frames, and Jaguar Rancho Mirage inserts and he even had a jaguar key chain he wanted me to have as a new member of the Jaguar family. You may have noticed this review is an update. Yes, I had some less than great encounters at Jaguar of Rancho Mirage. Well, over the last year several people have said how great their experiences with other Indigo Group dealerships have been. So, I decided that maybe I'd give them one more shot, and try to get a new service writer. Well, I'm glad I did! All businesses go through times where their staff is not what they would like it to be. Clearly that was what was happening when we first started to deal with them. Since my last visit, they have cleaned house. They have a whole new group of service writers. It is my understanding that they got rid of several batches to get the right combination. This is the sign of great management who is dedicated to getting it right. And, that is exactly what they have achieved. I now look forward to going in. It is as if we are going in to see friends. Samuel is our service writer and he is fantastic. He and Jackie (the assistant) make my life so incredibly easy. I can honestly say I have never seen such a turn around in the quality of a business; literally a 180 degree change. So, if you're looking for Jaguar service and are looking at the reviews here on Yelp, notice that most of the bad reviews of the service department were written awhile back. I'm pretty picky about service, and I am thrilled with this new team. You should definitely give them a try. read more

His name is Chad Ingram. This guy is the leading man of the Jaguar Land Rover service department. Chad is precise and friendly. He was spot on with his answers to every detailed question I had for him. He listened to every bitch, moan and groan I made about my car. At the end of my well rehearsed monologue, I knew he listened because not only did he take notes but repeated my concerns back to me. I did not feel intimidated by asking questions I wasn't sure of. He made me feel at ease and was reassuring when I was concerned about a warranty issue. He even changed the battery in my key right on the spot because I casually mentioned I sometimes get a low battery message. I have bought 3 vehicles over the past 4 years at Desert European auto group and he is the best service guy I have had. Hands down. Told it needed a new battery. 2 weeks later the battery failed OK no problem call road side assistance they Tow to dealer. Call for 2 days and leave messages finally let me know the car will be ready on the third day. Go to pick up they tell they will bring the car up. I was told my employer gets me 6% off but that was "not available" for this car. I was expected to pay MSRP price. I was told if I bring in "all cash" I can get the discounted price. So I did! I have been a jaguar owner for many years with the xj lineup. I walked into the dealership and was never greeted by anyone at the front desk I was left to stand around like an idiot waiting for someone to approach me. I finally got a salesperson who said I've only been with jaguar for four months so I don't know much about the cars. I'm looking to purchase a new xjl and keep my 2011 as my second car in the desert. I finally walked away after asking multiple questions and getting I don't know for answers. I even asked to speak with someone who did have some experience with the brand and all I got was he isn't available right now. I was never asked for my information and that someone would get back to me with answers to my questions. For a luxury brand dealership I got treated as if I walked into a Yugo dealership. I called the dealership to see what goes into turning in a lease early and getting into another car. 3 days later I was driving home in my dream car. I've never had anyone (especially in the car world) work harder to get a deal done for my high want wishlist. The day I went in to sign all the documents, he had everything ready so I was in and out in my new vehicle in 40 minutes. Not to fond of the place. I took my Jaguar here to replace the headlights (front left). You would think something so simple, wouldn't be as expensive as it was. But the bill came out to almost $500. Again, we're talking about two little headlights that you can buy at a parts store for like $10. I understand you have to increase costs, but such a hike in price for something so simple doesnt seem right. I had them take out the lights, had my brother do it.
