I had the spicy seafood soup and it is delicious and a bit spicy and hubby had the crispy orange beef. Absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Parking is the only downfall. You got to get there in perfect timing to fry a parking spot around the restaurant if not you can park across the street at the old Burlington parking lot or at the pro optical after 6 other than that it's yummy. read more

Don't try to enjoy a meal here 45-60 minutes before closing time. They were stacking chairs around us. One employee tried to take my half-finished plate without asking "Are you finished?" You walk in they great you (parking in rear) they seat you with their menus and you order at the front. They delivered our food very quickly (almost insanely fast) and kept checking on us after. Even made great light conversation. Food : So freakin good. My husband got the general tso chicken, chicken was crispy more on the mild side which can be elevated with saracha or other sauces seasoned very well. Steamed rice was sticky and perfectly cooked. We ordered the handmade dumplings and they were so good, pan fried and juicy with dumpling sauce. The flavors were so tasty. I got the sesame chicken and though a basic order it was outstanding, the chicken crispy and sauce not overly sweet and the perfect consistency. I got Steamed rice also. Each meal comes with either an egg roll or soup. We went all out and got both. I the egg drop which had an amazing consistency and the broth was outstanding. He got the hot and sour, so so good both soups. The egg rolls are the best I've had in town; hands down. Price : All of this for under $40 ! COVID-19: The restaurant was very clean, I went to the restroom and will say it was very tidy in there as well. Every other table is closed due to COVID, the servers wore masks as well as the patrons and there was sanitizer on each closed table as well as up front. Jaja Cafe has my strongest endorsement. Food is excellent, whether dining in or taking out. A hidden gem here in Corpus Christi. The best Americanized Chinese food I've had in sometime. There were cockroaches running around on the floor. We were a large party so our entrees arrived in waves. I had double cooked pork which strongly resembled uncured bacon. It was about 75% fat. Maybe their version i've double cooked pork is some sort of fusion recipe as all the heat was from cooked fresh jalapeños. To further add insult the whole dish was laden with oil at the bottom of the plate. Other than the heat there was a little other flavor. The fried rice was so-so. It was so bad I didn't take any of the remaining dish to go. It was a very, very disappointing experience because this place was recommended to me. Parking was quite limited as well. The food was delicious. However, the girl who took my order was incredibly rude. She did not greet me when I approached the counter to order. She simply stared at me. After I paid, she did not thank me. She just started engaging in a conversation with another coworker. Tried this place today and was very disappointed. The soup was luke warm and had to be watered down to get past the high sodium content. The fried wontons and the egg roll had been fried in oil that had a high peroxide value leaving a bad aftertaste in your mouth. The Lomein lacked any taste and the main dishes were salty. We came in from San Marcos for the week and have not had Chinese food this good in forever! We ordered like five dishes. A plant with garlic sauce Singapore noodles with chicken wonton soup sesame chicken with fried rice and mapoo tofu. Literally only stopped eating because I was going to die from being so full. The portions are huge and all of that food only cost $50. The owner came out and was checking on us we had a good laugh they're following covet precautions and social distancing. Also you order your food at the counter and they bring it to you there's a fountain machine for your drinks so if you're strapped tipping is not required. Go support them and have fun read more

This restaurant was my favorite Chinese restaurant in Corpus since they opened. However, the last few times I've been there the food has gone down in quality. Recipes have drastically changed as well. I don't see the original owner anymore either. When she was there the food was top notch. I'm disappointed and for now will give this restaurant a break. Hopefully they bring back the original recipes and cook with the same quality that made me loyal to them in the first place. We come to corpus a lot and today I asked my girlfriend what are you in the mood for? She responds Chinese and I cringed I have not had the best luck with Asian food in this area, but she's the boss. So I jump on yelp and find JaJa cafe. Do not let the building fool you it is spotless on the inside. The staff is super super friendly. The food is spectacular the chicken was crispy and had big flavors. The rice is cooked perfect no old flavorless fried rice. The egg rolls are as good as you have ever had I promise. The family pack is very big and and feeds about 6-7 people, I definitely recommend If feeding a lot and has good quality and flavor.

The restaurant has literally no service. You walk up to the counter to order. You fill your own drink, grab your own packets of soy sauce, etc. The food was OK, but for $45 for two during lunch, (we ordered crab Rangoon's) there are far better options!! read more

Had a really bad experience; ordered General Tso chicken and it tasted like rubber with no flavor. The picture showed chilis and green onions; my order didn't have one. Also, the lemon chicken sauce was like water and no flavor. The only descent thing was the egg roll. Waste of money and food.... Sorry Corpus but having moved here from "up north" there is a certain expectation of what a Chinese "take out" is supposed to be and till now, none of the places in have tried meet that till now. We went for lunch and ordered a General Tsou : which is our test to see how it rates and we give it a B+ : good place. It didn't get an 'A' rating cause the fried rice was just white refried with a little Housin sauce. The main course was really good and the rest of the entries we had were executed very well. Upon walking in it was not very welcoming. It being our first time we sat our self and started looking at the menu it wasn't until about 30 minutes we finally figured out we had to walk up to the counter to order. In my opinion being the the restaurant business myself if you see someone sitting at a table for a long period of time ideally you would address them and direct them. However upon placing our order ,of course we had questions regarding the menu which had no description on what it all comes with or anything . The employees could not answer any of the questions and had to constantly go to the back or answer the phone before answering our questions. We finally picked our food , I had the beef soup and my wife had chicken and beef lo me in. The soup was horrible being that I did not know what was all in it I began to have an allergic reaction to whatever was inside of it. The manager I believe kept telling me there was nothing in there that could cause me to have a reaction, how she knows what I am and am not allergic to is beyond me. My wife gave her dish a solid 2 out of 10 for all the hype people gave this place it was not as good as what we are used to. In summary I don't recommend this place due to the lack of description on the menus, the lack of welcoming or help from employees, a rude manager and not very tasty Cusine. read more
