My family and I were driving through Corpus Christi from DFW. This place was terrible and kinda nasty. The water tasted funny, and was probably unfiltered tap water. We got three ($17) lunch specials in total. I had the orange chicken and fried rice. It was bad, and the same thing from Panda Express would've been cheaper and tasted better. The egg drop soup that cane with the specials weren't great either. We also got the $17 Pad Thai, which had no heat, no flavor, and the server didn't even ask for the spice level. The $17 fried rice lunch special similarly had no flavor whatsoever. The fish of the day (Pad Prik King) was advertised as $25 on the menu, but it was $30 when we asked (flounder). I don't think there are any real ratings for this restaurant. Don't go here. read more

Really good food can be had here. They are a little ways out if you are in Corpus Christi, but worth the drive. Service is good, and they seem to have a lot of take out orders which is also a good sign. read more

I rarely drop a 1 star but this place was terrible. Called in sashimi (salmon, tuna and yellowtail). It was barely edible. The sushi guy must have gotten his training from Freddy Krueger. The bait was literally cut like bait. Thick cuts with no precision. Butchered. The yellow tail wasnt trimmed, at all. That nasty brown layer that most sushi chefs will trim away was cut and served. It was so rank that I fed it to my dogs. The tuna tasted like it came from a Sysco cryo-pak and had that weird blood leakage you get from frozen cheap tuna. The salmon was ok but it was cut so roughly that parts were see thru and others thick. Had a seaweed and Thai salad. They are so lazy they couldn't peel the cucumbers!?! Had to pick thru it all to find pieces that weren't as tough as leather. Overall, the worst sushi I've had in years. Way worse than the local Rockstar, which is saying something. $86 without a tip the yellowtail was $25!!! I called and informed the manager on how poor the food was. She offered me additional food but it wasn't worth the 12 mile drive to see failure twice in one night. read more

Thai Sticky Rice Restaurant is fantastic from start to finish. We started with the crab Rangoon, which was delicious with its crispy outside and creamy filling. For the main course, the beef and broccoli with steamed rice was outstanding. I asked for extra spicy and they did not disappoint. The spicy, tender beef and fresh broccoli in a rich, tasty sauce were perfect. The portions were generous, and we were fully satisfied. The highlight was the sushi. The dragon roll, with shrimp tempura and avocado wrapped in rice and nori, was excellent. The Jimmy roll and fireworks roll were just as good, with fresh flavors and interesting textures. The service was top-notch. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, making sure everything was perfect. The restaurant was clean and cozy, making us feel at home. Even the unsweet tea was refreshing In short, Thai Sticky Rice Restaurant is a really good find, their sushi was right up there with all of the top spots in Corpus.We left happy. In middle of road trip bro and I were leaving alpaca farm on Lake CC when we decided to grab food in nearby Corpus but then realized Callalen was best choice as it was close to our exit. There we found this place and we were only customers upon entering. Place was simple and I liked the tables. I ordered garlicky edamame which wasn't on menu but as most Asian restaurants have I asked oir kind waitress and ahe assured they had. I wanted a light dinner as we still had a long road trip ahead of us so I got vegan sushi roll and bro got spicy noodles. If I were hungry I wouldve gotten a curry or rice dish but I plan to return as long as I can avoid Corpus! read more

Stopped at Sticky Rice on the way back from the airport. We had a group of five and had our pick of places to sit. Started with some apps, crab rangoon and gyoza. The crab was pretty non existent, a lot more fried dough than crab and hardly any cream cheese in them..The gyoza we asked to be pan fried and only one side was actually seared, but they were ok. Nothing really memorable. For entrees we ordered some sushi, rainbow roll, which actually was pretty good. The Thai fried rice was a little greasy and average at best. Same with the chicken red curry, nothing memorable about this dinner. Service was ok as well. Seemed to take a lot longer than normal (at other Thai places) to get our entrees. Would definitely try a different Thai restaurant when in the area next time.. read more

Absolutely amazing!! They changed the restaurant a bit from the previous name so the menu is new with many awesome traditional Vietnamese dishes and fusions. But you MUST go to the sushi bar and sit with Tiger. The sushi rolls are the same menu as Oyshi but just wayyyyy better. He adds his own little touch to his rolls and you can taste the love! So fresh, so flavorful and just the best cuisine out there. I will recommend this place to everyone in Corpus Christi!!! You gotta come see it for yourself. Bring an empty stomach! read more

The good reviews I read and my laziness to drive all the way to CC brought me to this place. The foods I had were okay but unfortunately it's a "one and done" for me. Well, at least we tried it, I told my family as they were not impressed by the taste of our orders. Decided to come here for dinner since we were looking for a Thai place to try out. Upon entering we were greeted and informed we could sit where we would want. Our waitress was the sweetest, and very attentive. She also stated that the place was under new management that they have added some foods to the menu and that they are working on some to get started. We ordered: Beef Pad See Ew- Delish! Definitely had the right flavor and seasoning on it, and the beef was soft~ Calamari- ON POINT! We all loved it and ordered a second since our girls and son devoured the calamari! Pia sun rod(FISH)- Husband meal-he loved it and said it was definitely worth it! We ordered sushi: Big Ass Roll- definitely big and worth it! Crunchy and delish. California Roll- good size roll and not just a small portion roll This is our go-to Thai place from now on! Definitely a hidden gem. Can't wait to try the rest of the food on the menu. read more

My go to! The most authentic Thai food I have had in the US! Always top-notch ingredients and high quality meals with superb flavor! The service is friendly and very attentive to your needs or wants. Very accommodating! The ambiance is welcoming and you choose if you want to sit quietly with friends, sit at the sushi/sports bar or be able to watch TV toward the back! Had great expectations when (I'm assuming) the Thai owner came out to greet us and explained the specials. Then... we order the appetizer combo, yummy roll, pad thai, broccoli stir fry, and pad woon sen. Since two were daily specials, they came with egg drop soup, which was very tasty! The combo app was good as well, but I wouldn't say worth $17. The portions were quite small compared to the other Thai restaurants we've been to both in CC and in Thailand. Mild spicy in the pad woon sen had no spice at all, which is surprising as mild is usually still quite spicy in Thai, and the pad Thai was fairly tangy and not as sweet as I've had before. I asked for chicken and beef and only realized later that it actually only had beef. Our yummy roll never came out and when I finally asked, they hadn't started making it yet, so we had them cancel the order as we were already done with our meal (we still had to ask to take it off the bill at the end.) There was a long black hair on the outside of my cup as it was brought to the table and spilled when she set it down as the lid wasn't on all the way. I think our experience was about 50% negative from the server and 50% from the food. Perhaps this is a new restaurant and they are still figuring things out. Hopefully they figure it out fast since it is already hard enough owning a restaurant in today's economy. read more

First visit today and didn't have terribly high expectations given my experiences with Thai food in this area. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was and how kind and helpful the waitress was. Yellow curry was excellent! The CalAllen roll was delicious!
