I love the food here! Everytime I come into town from Houston, I always crave this reasturant. I haven't had anything that hasn't been delicious. My favorite dish is the general tso chicken. There isn't too much batter on the chicken like other reasturants, and the flavor is phenomenal. The staff is always on point. I always recommend it to anyone looking for amazing Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. The owners are amazing, and are always ensuring we have the best customer service and experience. First time visiting this joint. We had a situation that made my wife feel very uneasy. Upon receiving our bill, our friends noticed there was a "service charge". When asking the waiter what this was he acted dumbfounded and did not know what that could be. We asked him if this was his tip, because we always leave a decent tip, he still had no idea. We were a party of six so an automatic gratuity seemed to be the case so we went with that. After looking at it better at home it was indeed his 20% tip added to both our tickets. Very very unprofessional and obviously this waitstaff needs more training to understand what they are doing. If it wasn't for that we would have gave a five star. My wife and I stopped in for some great food...if we're in this part of the state we come here. Had to order their version of General chicken with mushrooms, asked for no rice and extra 'shrooms....no problem...yum! Haven't found anywhere that uses 'shrooms, take note people! They have a small upcharge for wonton soup on the lunch menu, awesome wonton soup, woth it. My wife got a number 10 washtub filled with delectable egg noodle soup with chicken and shrimp....more yum. Ordered take away at about 5.35 PM. We were told it would be ready at 6.00 PM. I am good cause I am leaving Corpus. I arrived at 5.55 PM and checked in at restaurant, was told order had about another 7 minutes. I finally received the order at 6.18 PM. The restaurant was not busy with dine in and I understand that take away is a big business. With that in mind, they should have a better estimate of delivery time. If I could give my favorite place to eat a 10 I would do so without hesitation. The food is always fresh, delicious and healthy. When I get a cold or flu, my first thought is to order the Pho Ga soup which is like a miracle cure! We usually get our food to go and the food is always hot and the order is correct. When I have eaten at the restaurant, the experience is spectacular and food is even better. My brother who now lives in Mexico always makes Hudat a place he eats when he visits us. I've known Nga the owner even before she opened the restaurant so I know her ethics and values. She truly cares about her customer, employees. And all the food she puts out. I like this place. I want to Love it but it's the food is not always great. Today, my lomein had very little cabbage mixed in on just one side of the plate and the noodles were clumped together. I don't think the meat and vegetables were cooked together with the noodles. The fried egg rolls did not have a good flavor at all. I am so disappointed. I've had this meal before and it's been great but not always and I still go back. I wish the cooking was consistent. Dinner sadness!!! read more

Just no. Food is overpriced for what it is. I ordered the combo fried rice (shrimp + steak) but asked them to replace the steak with chicken since I don't really eat red meat. They charged me extra for the chicken even though steak is more expensive so that didnt make sense at all. Should've been an even swap, if anything. I wasnt told it would cost extra when I placed the order over the phone so to my surprise the total bill was way more when I went to pick it up. $15 for 5 pieces of shrimp a few pieces of chicken and fried rice is ridiculous. Husband ordered sesame chicken and it was horrible. Also had crab rangoon, and that was actually good, but don't think we'll order here again. read more

We ordered to go but ate it in the restaurant because it was fairly empty. My husbands beef and rice dish was so salty he couldn't eat it. And he loves salty things. He ate maybe 1/3 of it. My dinner was chicken vermicelli, it was also very salty. The chicken had no skin but it was a tough outside. The food was basically salty and had no other taste. We had so many GREAT Vietnamese and Chinese places in Dallas. We have been very sad about the quality of Asian food here on the coast. Rockport is even worse. Place was pretty empty when I stopped by for dinner, and there were 4 girls running front of house (none of them would have been old enough to serve a beer). Not even seated when my server ask what I want, I ask for a couple of minutes as it is my first time in - the girl disappears for 15. When she does come back I ask if the red names mean spicy? Yes Ok, I'll try one of those. It should be obvious that I did not know this place, even if I didn't tell her flat out! The next time I see her she has both the entre and soup, no time to eat the soup? The chicken entre was bland and very rubbery. The waitress never checked in to see how things were, and I sat there for 30 minutes with my napkin on the plate waiting for the check. When she did come out from the back, I asked about that being one of the spiciest dishes and get "well it can be one of them. We do our spice on a 1 to 5 scale, and you didn't ask for any" No service, nasty food = never again read more

I mean... the people who worked there were nice? The "kimchi" was a joke. One of the worst things I've ever paid for and tried to eat in my life. Excellent Vietnamese food! We went for dinner and ordered the HU-DAT Special called the "Hunan Combo" with lots of veggies, beef, chicken, and shrimp floating in a delicious sauce. Soup was included so I started with Hot & Sour Soup; hubby had the egg drop soup - both great. We ordered Vietnamese Egg Rolls on the side which were hot and crispy - just the way we like them. They do lots of take out business for those who want to pick up lunch or dinner on the fly. We'll definitely be back A LOT! read more
