Love this place and I know they love their pups too! It's so clean, (zero smell!!!) the dogs all look like they are having fun, and they have the cutest backyard for the pups to play and use to go potty. Not a lot of other daycares have an outdoor place for the dogs, and it makes a huge deal! We heard about this place from another pup's hoomans and we are so happy we listened! We are moving this week and it's such a relief to know our pup isn't just out of the way, but he is having the time of his life making new friends and playing too! Mike has such a way with dogs. My blue heeler is pretty anxious and he was so patient and attentive figuring out the best pack option for her (she ended up in the dog park pack) and helping her feel comfortable. Mike is an excellent communicator, especially compared to other daycares we've used where I felt totally in the dark about how my dog was doing. read more

Jake N Friends has been great! Like many people, my dog is family and at Jake N Friends, my dog Billy is also treated like family. Mike and team are very experienced with the dogs and not only are they loved, but they are kept in a safe and stimulating environment. Billy has fear issues around people, especially men and he has made so much progress with these issues. I have taken my dog there since October and even after I moved out of the area, I still bring my dog there because I love Jake N Friends so much. I cannot recommend Jake N Friends enough!!! We have a very rambunctious Rat Terrier who is extremely picky about who he chooses to like. Our dog Bailey usually barks at anyone approaching our door. However, when Mike (the outgoing and knowledgeable owner of Jake N Friends) comes to the door, he wiggles his tale and rushes to greet him without barking! The service of this company is outstanding; After each walk we receive a GPS image of the route our dog was taken on. Our dog comes home happy and tired (in a good way) and we know that he has been well taken care of. We began using Jake N Friends due to the arrival of our newborn. We were fearful that we would not be able to give enough attention to our dog and hired JnF to assist us with our dog. Mike is extremely quiet when entering our home and cautious not to scare or wake our baby. We trust him with a key to our home and truly believe that this service has saved our dog from acting out and feeling left out! We have also taken several trips out of town when we could not take our dog. JnF has boarded our dog and taken amazing care of him while we were away. Mike texts us pictures of our dog playing and sleeping at his will (we didn't even ask!), which allows us to feel assured our dog is well taken care of. I DON'T recommend this company:/. Mike didn't keep his words. Mike didn't take out trash everyday which he promised he would, didn't feed my cats everyday which also he promised he would. Mike didn't feed my cats OVER 48 HOURS when they needed to be fed at least once a day. He told me he got flat tire...but he should take Uber or cab or whatever it takes to get my place and feed my babies as he promised. He didn't even let me know. I found out by calling him. He was very unprofessional and I was super disappointed. Mike completely lost my trust. read more

Dogs are often left to their own devices, just barking outside the door in a small play area. One employee enjoys watching Sponge Bob Square Pants inside in lieu of managing the animals. The place doesn't smell, though, so that's good. But They can flip to immature rudeness on a dime, so professional maturity is lacking. read more

Seriously I am so impressed with Mike at Jake and Friends. I was referred by a friend to Jake's and I'm so happy that I was. This was a very last minute trip to Bainbridge on THanksgiving!!! We had a dog that was a little under the weather and needed to be given meds and Mike was on it! Very professional dude. He took such great care of our dogs Coco and Carter. It was so obvious from the get go that this was going to be a great fit. By the end of their two day visit they had been on several walks in the City, played hard, made new friends and even had a trip to the Village to visit Santa with pics!! My older dog Hazel has been going to the dog park with Mike for the last 5 years now. She loves Mike (and Callie) and it's great knowing I can come home to an exercised, relaxed dog. I cannot say enough great things about Mike and his partner in Crime Jake! Mike has been the best "Manny" our little Percy could hope for! He is not only attentive to Percy's high maintenance needs, he also exercises his physical and mental stammania to make Percy a happy pup! Mike knows each and everyone of pack. He provides individualist care as well provide a safe social environment for dogs to be dogs. As a heli-copper fur mamma myself, I am always on high alert when it comes to my little boy. Upon our initial meeting, Mike personifies calmness. During our home interview he came prepared. He looked up Percy's breed and understood that our little boy has a different outlook on his life as a dog. Every time I talk about Mike or his "Manny" at home, Percy gets super excited and runs to the door looking for him. When Mike drops off Percy at the end of the day, Mike always gives a thorough report on Percy's day including his interactions with the dogs, and areas we discussed Percy needs to work on (stop eating everything) and and other issues. One time, Mike brought home Percy concerned that Percy was going bald (turned out his coat was changing color in that area). I do not know a dog walker or is soo attentive to our little boy. Now Jake is an amazing Pack leader! I do not know a dog who could put up with Percy's rambunctiousness as well as Jake. We appreciate Jake's guidance and leadership of Percy! If I could give these guys more than 5 stars, I would. I live in SF but have kept my dog with my parents in Seattle (who adore him like a grandchild) until the madness of planning my wedding and taking frequent trips to Seattle passes.My parents aren't able to walk Brody, so I came on Yelp and found Jake N Friends... long story short, best decision I've ever made. I'll be having an Indian wedding in Seattle that last several days, so not only was I looking for dog walking services, but someone who would take care of Brody for a few days while the wedding is happening. Mike has been working with me for over a month to make sure that my dog will get along well with the other dogs he cares for and his slow introduction to his 'pack' has been the perfect approach for Brody. Brody is beyond excited when he even hears Mike's name mentioned and Mike has had a few talks with me describing all of Brody's quirks (which he is completely right about)... it shows he takes the time to really get to know the pets he is involved with. I adore Mike and can't say enough good things... on top of everything else, I asked him if he could bring Brody by for pictures on the actual day of my wedding in a two hour window, and he didn't hesitate a moment to say yes. Our miniature pinscher, Lucy, has never been happier than when she goes on her Wednedsay dog park play date with Jake and his crew. Mike is super intuitive when taking care of our dog, and has the patience to deal with her high maintenance issues (she's a very excitable rescue). My dog Casper has a fair amount of separation anxiety, which made me a little nervous when looking into taking him to a daycare. However, Mike was extremely helpful and encouraging, making sure we eased into things, explaining the different techniques he was using to build Casper's confidence, and keeping me updated on how Casper was improving with each visit. Now Casper gets so excited when we make our way over to the daycare and runs right in to see Mike and his doggy friends. He is always so happy when I pick him up in the evenings, especially on the days they've gone to the dog park! And when I take him myself on walks and to the park, he is now much more confident when meeting new dogs and people. I am so happy to have found this place. Mike takes wonderful care of all the dogs in the pack, is very friendly, and always lets me know the plan for the day, how things went, and when they are back at the daycare on the days they go to the park. read more

Jake N Friends has saved me from a very unhappy canine. When my son left home for college, Mike took over the role of dog walker during the day while I work. My dog, Teasel has never been happier! I can rest assured throughout the day knowing that she will not be in the house all day and at the window waiting for me to come home...Mike lets himself in, takes her for walks 5 days a week and sends me pictures of her playing with the other dogs. In August of 2014, we inherited a pit bull puppy. Not exactly what we were planning to do. But over the next several months, we fell in love with little Nahla, who defied all pit bull breed negative generalizations. We knew that we had a long out-of-country trip coming up in January of 2015, and we were concerned about finding a place for Nahla that would be stimulating and allow her to continue to socialize with other dogs. My goal was to find somebody to care for her by the first of December. We began talking to various boarders, and narrowed it down to 2; Jake 'N Friends and another professional boarder. We went with Jake 'N Friends and we're so glad we did. We initially met with Jake and Mike (the owner of Jake 'N Friends) to ensure that there was compatability between the two dogs, and there was!!! That meetting was held in late November, the decision was made in early December, and what a relief it was to know that she would be in firm but loving hands. Nahla spent the 3 weeks in January accompanying Jake and Mike on their outings with other dogs every day, and boarding with Mike at night. Mike let us know early in the trip that Nahla was doing great and that we didn't need to worry at all. Nahla came home totally happy and with better manners than when we left her. It was obvious to us that Mike is extremely conscientious about his clients' pets; he also seems to have the dog psychology arm of the business totally figured out. To this day, people ask us how we got Roman to be so well behaved and truly a big part of it is thanks to Jake and Friends. Mike helped socialize our pup and worked with us to train Roman, including breaking some bad habits he was developing. Mike also helped with Roman's separation anxiety. It is so great to see Roman (who wouldn't leave our side) run to Mike and jump in his car ready for an adventure! Mike is also just a really cool guy. He struck up a conversation with my brother who just relocated here and put him in touch with some job prospects. He is also incredibly respectful of our home, including bringing in packages that are waiting for us by the door. I could not more emphatically recommend Jake and Friends. I've been using Jake N Friends for over a year for my lovely dog companion BeBe. I work long hours so the services were perfect. Mike Sanders, the owner, does a great job taking take of my princess. She gets to see him two to three times a week. It can be an hour walk, time at the park with other dogs, and also newly started an all day excursion where she spends the whole day with him and Jake. BeBe comes home wiped out so I know she's had a great time with him. With Mike, I know that my princess is in good hands when I'm at work and she gets the attention she deserves. Mike is great! I do the 20 walk punch card with my little Pom mix so he gets 3 walks a week. He has gone above and beyond with walking him longer than expected and also for pet sitting.
