PLAY is absolutely fabulous and I am so grateful that we found them! My dog is mellow and older but still likes to get out of the house and putt around a play yard. Play allows her to enjoy some quality human and fellow pup time while I'm working long days. I bring home a happy and thoroughly worn-out furbaby every time. Indoor and outdoor space with plenty of shade in the summer, cover in the rain, and heaters in the winter means that pups are comfortable no matter the elements. The staff here are incredible. They get to know you and your dog to a level I've never experienced at a dog daycare. You are part of a family rather than a business, and that's a beautiful thing. I cannot recommend them enough and my dog and I feel blessed to be part of the pack! read more

It's been about 1.5 years since my last review, thought I'd update on the continued outstanding service and care at PLAY. I don't know where they find their staff, but they are the nicest, friendliest and most caring team EVER. They are incredibly flexible with changes, and with a little notice will accommodate all your daycare needs. I feel that a good test of whether a dog is happy, is if you pick them up after boarding, and return just a couple days later for daycare. If the pup nearly rips your arm off, in his eagerness to get back in there, I think you have a winner. read more

My dog has been a member of the pack at Play for over a year now. He's my first dog and I did not know what to expect from a doggie daycare. Play has set the bar so high I could not imagine sending Snowball anywhere else. Megan and the team at Play worked with me on slowly easing him into day care a few hours at a time. Play pays attention to how many dogs of the same breed they take in, always has enough staff to attend to the dogs and have overnight boarding which is great because I have piece of mind knowing my dog is with his dog pack and people pack while I'm away. Megan the manager is pleasure to deal with and does a phenomenal job managing the flow of different breeds and dog personalities. After my experience with Play, it would be very very difficult to take my dog anywhere else. read more

I am reluctant to review this relatively new business for fear the lovely Sarah and Lisa will become SO busy they won't have to be SO nice and supportive of my unpredictable and demanding work schedule, not to mention the genuine affection and attention they extend to my very high energy young rescue dog with his many quirks. Of the doggie daycares we've experienced, this is a larger facility with a few well arranged spaces to accommodate a variety of scenarios and a more patient yet energetic, and def. more knowledgeable staff. My dog Casey has been going weekly to Play since the summer of 2021. She is a shy, awkward girl but really loves playing with other dogs in a safe environment. This is what the staff at Play! provide. I've seen the change over the past several months as she now eagerly jumps out of the car and gladly goes with the staff that greet us at the door. Play Doggie Daycare is a fantastic place for my dog to hang out while I am at work. I had been waiting for this place to open for months and was so glad to see this addition to our neighborhood. My dog is so excited when she hears she is going "to daycare" and is so happy when I pick her up at the end of the day. The facilities are excellent with both indoor and outdoor options and very clean. There is a nice mix of different doggie personalities and she loves to play with everyone. They do a great job of making sure each dog is comfortable and they have separate areas for the more active dogs and another area for the smaller or shy dogs. Sarah and Lisa are highly experienced and will treat your dog like part of the family. We have been here for nearly a dozen times since they opened in early September and plan on continuing. read more

My shelter dog, Hildy, loves it here. In fact, I can barely persuade her to come home at the end of the day! She's typically shy and easily spooked, but loves other dogs. When we roll up to PLAY, her tail starts wagging furiously. The people who run PLAY are excellent people and so kind, and it's clear that they form good relationships with each and every dog in their care. How lucky I am to live so close to such a great doggie daycare! This space is newly renovated, and with the dogs in mind. Nice yards with plenty of open, indoor space. For a very small fee, they come and pick up my dog and then bring her home. This is such a life saver that many places do not offer. The women who run this business are absolutely the best. I trust them fully with my dog and feel their space is safe and very well-kept. Even the man who was helping with renovations was incredibly kind and wanted to know more about my dog!! They really do care about your dog and even sent my girl a birthday card! I also really appreciate their policy of absolutely no aggressive dogs (not even slightly!). Having visited many doggie daycares, this is very rare (they all tout this policy, but it's not always followed). My dog is older and is definitely a people-dog rather than a play dog, and this setting works for her and the more energetic dogs. I like their mix of young and older dogs; I think it's good for both. Try this daycare and you and your dog will be so pleased! read more

I recently introduced my 2.5 year old vizsla Tallulah to Cesira and team at Play's new spot on Capitol Hill and I can't speak kindly enough about how caring and fantastic they were with getting her acclimated. They've gone above and beyond the other doggie day cares to make sure my pup is comfortable with them and the space and you can tell their priority is making sure the dogs they take care of are comfortable and feel safe - not to mention making the owners feel confident that their dogs are in great hands. Our Yorkie thrives with his pals, big and small, at PDDC! He's always eager to go home when I come to get him, but he's tired from all the activity. And that's what he needs - more activity than I can give him in 2-3 hours per day. A good place - clean and safe, and a human staff that loves doggies and gets to know each one. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Play Doggie Daycare and Play on the Hill. My grand dog loves spending time at both locations! Sometimes it takes a village, not only to raise a child, but in some situations, to also care for your beloved pup. Recently, my grand dog was boarding with Sarah, the owner/manager, while my daughter was on a trip. Events happened, and a short-term boarding situation turned into an extended stay with Sarah and ended with Sarah having to ship grand dog to another state (at our request). Sarah and her dedicated team made sure daughter's dog was well cared for, and loved, every day. Sarah always went out of her way to keep us informed and sent us daily pictures of daughter's dog enjoying her surroundings. When we decided to ship our grand dog from Seattle to Texas, Sarah became our trusted friend who stepped up and went out of her way to make sure grand dog would be able to fly safely. Based on the airlines requirements, Sarah had to purchase a large crate for our dog, she arranged and paid for a required vet visit in order to acquire an up-to-date travel certificate, she was in touch with the traveling vet who had to drop off supplements for our grand dog to keep her calm during the flight, and last but certainly not least, Sarah delivered our grand dog to the airline's cargo location for her trip to Texas. Of course we reimbursed Sarah for expenses incurred beyond the boarding fees, but not once during this ordeal were we asked to provide funds in advance. Sarah and the Rufferees at Play were the village that provided love and care during a stressful situation. Thank you!! read more

After searching for weeks where I was going to leave my puppy while I had to return back East to attend my brothers wedding, I finally found Sarah and Lisa's PLAY Doggie Daycare. After asking around the dog park for a few days if anyone had any recommendations, it became very clear that PLAY was the most reputable place. Long story short, I could not have been happier with the way things turned out. My puppy fit right in to Sarah and Lisa's pack. They even sent me pictures while I was away at the wedding of my dog having the time of his life! This made my time away from my pup much more bearable. I know my dog had a great time while I was away and this is only reconfirmed when we run into Sarah at the park and my dog runs up to her to give her some love. Love and care for your best friend while you are out bringing home the kibble! PLAY is the best because of the care and attention provided by Sarah, Lisa, Matthew and Anthony. The staff at PLAY genuinely love dogs and spending time with them. My dog is shy and skittish and PLAY gives her time romping with the big dogs, but makes sure she can go in the quiet room when she is ready. My dog has blossomed into a more confident and happy dog now that she can hang with a pack a few days a week and not have to stay home with two grouchy cats. read more

I LOVE PLAY and more importantly, my two beagles Milo and Lucy do too. In other dog care facilities they get locked up with the small dogs inside, but at PLAY, like all the dogs there, they have indoor and outdoor access. It's super clean and the dogs come home well exercised and tired. I can't emphasize enough how friendly Sarah and Lisa are and how much they clearly love dogs. We live in the neighborhood and every time we walk by PLAY my dogs try to drag me inside, and when they see Sarah or Lisa they jump, sniff and yelp with joy. We take them there when work is too busy for us to walk them, or it's too rainy outside, or we have a trip. Sarah and Lisa are so flexible - I just show up now without notice and they welcome them anytime. It's a huge convenience. read more

I am only giving this one star because I had to. I was searching for a daycare close to my work for my 40 pound pit mix and came across play which had great reviews. I submitted an application online in which I disclosed that my dog had been to daycare before and to many dog parks, and had no issues whatsoever. I also mentioned just in case they needed to know that when he plays he's a very vocal player. this is not an aggressive way and he's never had any issues or fights whatsoever with any other dogs. I have owned multiple dogs, I have grown up with police k9's and several dogs as pets since I was young. And my dog is by far the most passive and loving dog I have had. He has been to two other day cares (one previously, and his current one since we moved cities) and has been to multiple dog parks and never once has been in a fight or even small scuffle. I received an email from the day care that stated that ranger would not be allowed because of his breed. The email stated: "Thank you for your application for Ranger to join Play on Cherry. Unfortunately due to our efforts to not overstimulate the group we limit the number of pit mix breeds that we allow in for daycare." Second part of the email stated a list of dog walkers that I could possibly use instead of their daycare services if I had wanted a dog walker I would have searched just that. I didn't include that part of the email because I didn't want to put their names and numbers out for people to see. I can't believe that a facility that prides themselves on loving dogs would reject a dog based on his breed. My dog was not even given a preliminary trial to see if he would be a good fit or not. They automatically assumed that he would be the dog to "overstimulate" the group. I would expect this from other companies but not from a dog daycare. Assumptions based on certain breeds are ridiculous. He was not even given a minute of their time. As I responded in my reply to their original email if they want to ban Pitbulls and pit mixes, and ban dogs based on breeds, they should move to Montreal where apparently that's an ok thing to do now. read more

Play doggy daycare saved my @ss. I had arranged daycare with a Rover.com sitter after numerous emails. They had offered to pick up my dog the day of the sitting and I said that would be great and I would need someone there by 8:20am to make it to my training on time. When it came to be 8:17 and the sitter hadn't showed, I tried calling the cell phone she supplied and got a full mailbox message. It was completely unprofessional. I called Play stressed out and explained the situation. I had been there once before luckily so they had my dog's vaccinations/etc on file, but since I used their great dog taxi connections I hadn't had feedback on my dog before. They were able to take my pup (who is used to coming to work with me) both days and were super friendly and professional and this time I was able to pick up my dog. Both me and the employee were distracted on the first day and I forgot to pay, but they sent me a friendly email saying to call and we can take care of it in the morning. I will definitely use Play again when I need reliable daycare. read more

Absolutely love this place!!! I have a small pup so I take her to the capitol Hill & it is the best daycare I have ever used. I travel for work so my pup has unfortunately been in and out of daycares all around the states. This is by far the BEST place out of all that we have been too. How can I tell? Because my dog LOVES it here! That is all the insurance I need! Whenever I bring her in as soon as we turn the corner to the place she starts running to the door & as soon as she sees the staff she gets all excited. Whenever I pick her up she looks so happy and when we walk home I can tell she is exhausted from running around all day because I usually have to pick her up because she walks soooo slow haha which is perfect because that is the whole point of me bringing her in! To get her tired for the night so I can be at work knowing she is sleeping peacefully and not tearing my place into shreds! The staff are amazing here, so nice and so friendly and they treat my furbaby along with the other pups like their own. I love that they build relationships with the dogs. I also love that they have two separate locations for big and small dogs because that means more space in the play area. I will certainly miss this place when it is time for us to leave & I know my pup will too! read more

We were so lucky to have found PLAY during our year in Seattle. They took the most wonderful care of our pup, Wallace, during both daycare and overnight boarding. As soon as we rounded the corner to PLAY, Wallace would begin whimpering with excitement. After a day at PLAY, he came home SO tired and happy. Even the day after, he would be what we called "play hungover"- still tired and calm due to all the fun he had. The staff at PLAY are so kind and caring, and the space is awesome. We have moved from the area, and we're finding there is no where as good at PLAY. Take your pup here- you won't regret it! read more

We recently spent a month in Seattle, looking to escape the summer heat of Denver. Doggy daycare is part of our pup's routine, so we looked for a daycare in Seattle. We scoped out a few different places and were a bit disappointed in some of the options, but knew we had found the right place when we ran across PLAY. It's a great facility, with both indoor and ample outdoor space (with obstacles and shaded areas). The owner and staff were super friendly and accommodating of our temporary needs and great with the dogs. Our pup, Mia, settled in quickly and was always excited to "go to school" on daycare days.
