    Scary!

Ok. So we came back post COVID. our original destination was closed and we didn't want to be driving all over the place. So I reluctantly came back. I'm glad I gave this place another shot. This time we sat at the bar, which did seem to make a difference. The bartender was very sweet and quick. There were a lot of regulars there tonight and everyone was very friendly. The food impressed me this time. He got a Buffalo chicken wrap and I got a crispy chicken salad. Both were delicious. I was a bit disappointed with their beer selection. I'm not sure why you'd have two IPAs on draft when you have a limited selection. Don't get me wrong. We both love IPAs, but I find them to be more of a summer beer. As a craft beer lover that was disappointing. Another thing I will point out is that none of the staff were wearing masks correctly. They either had it on around their chin, or their noses we're sticking out. The owner came out and didn't have one on at all and the kitchen staff did not either. Now, I'm not the mask police but I wonder what other guidelines aren't being followed? Honestly, I don't feel at risk from servers because they are not hanging around in front of you for 15 min. I feel more at risk from other patrons who are sitting near you the entire time. Anyway, I only point this out so that if people are uncomfortable still, this may not be the place to go.

What a joke who turns down a phone takeout order for $100 on a Sunday! No problem my business went over to Youngers Tavern.

The menu is vast and features a lot of traditional Irish inspired options and they are famous for their signature boxties. I recently had their Burrata Caprese salad and it was delicious! The tomatoes were fresh and the balsamic glaze was well balanced with the baby greens dressed in a light vinaigrette . For my drink I had the Dragonberry Mojito and it was refreshing, but could've been a little stronger. The staff was friendly, but service was a little slow and our waiter didn't check on us as often as we would've liked for water refills. The location at Second and Main Street with open air dining on this beautiful June day in Michigan was very inviting. I took a seat in the dining room and was quickly greeted by a friendly server (Gabbi). I ordered the Salmon Sandwich which included a Teriyaki glaze and Asian slaw with a side of sweet potato fries and a Labatt pilsner draft which was served quickly in a cold pint glass which was enjoyable on a warm afternoon. The sandwich is a little sticky to eat, so maybe not on a date night unless you really want to be stuck with the person you're accompanied by, but it was very tasty and I would order again. Another lady was kind enough to drop off a special sauce to complement the sweet potato fries that was delicious. It seemed was a combination of yogurt, cream cheese and cinnamon possibly. The restaurant was about 30% full on this day in the early afternoon which made for an enjoyable quiet stop. It really reminded me of being Up North in Michigan on this day as this experience included several families enjoying time together on a beautiful Michigan afternoon in a nice downtown.

Had the appetizer steak bites which are very tasty (just wish there were more for the $18 price) and my husband had a burger which he loved, perfectly seasoned and an actual burger that was more than a 1/2 inch thick. I ordered fish and chips. It was probably some of the best I've ever had, lightly breaded but not the usual tempura batter (you know, the stuff you bite into and it's soft and white on the inside or completely falls off the fish). They were crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. We will definitely be going back there.

Are you guys going to respond to the alleged sexual predator issue going on with your head manager Jacob Wutka or what? A post (the text in quotes below) is circulating around, there are plenty of comments from past employees corroborating your guys hiring of and keeping predators employed and these comments talk about this issue being existent years ago. Time to address this regardless of what is going on. You cannot run from this. We will not let it happen. The circulating post: "Meet Jake. Jake is a current registered child registered sex offender who is a current employee at the Hamlin Pub in the downtown Rochester area. Jake was charged with having sensually charged contact with a minor under the age of 18. Jake was involved some time back in a sting operation ran by none other than Chris Hansen, which led to his initial charges and current status as a child sex offender. As a former employee of hamlin pub who worked closely with Jake for the last couple of months without any knowledge of his past crimes, I am very well informed by the fact that, since he is employed as a head manager at this Hamlin Pub location, has minors from high-school around the surrounding area (adams, rochester, stoney creek) currently working and employed under his care. I made my own attempt to confront management and ownership of the fact that they currently employ a registered child sex offender with the management and supervision over minors in high-school, I was subsequently and permanent tresspassed from the property on part of management and ownership as a result of bringing this information to light. Please do your due diligence to make this individual famous around your own communities and around the rochester and rochester hills areas as well. Please share this post with friends, family and neighbors so that we can cultivate a culture of accountability towards these deplorable sex criminals within our own communities. Jake clearly shows within his own mugshot that he expresses no remorse for any of his actions or criminal conduct, and should be placed in an environment in which high-school minors are frequently employed at.
