These guys have always been straight with me. I got tires here last summer, came in for a slow leak recently. They had an opportunity to sell me something I didn't end up needing, but I would've believed them if they said I did and already half agreed that I'd be open to new ones - e.g. could've scammed me but they were honest. Nice to find especially as a woman. It turned out it was a minor issue that they fixed for free. They do try and upsell a bit here and there but that's to be expected TBH, that's how they make money. could've been better. Came in for a flat repair with just a flat tire walk in and not the car with me. Was waiting for an hour and 30 mins until I asked about an update and the worker said "oh it's been done for a while now" so I just wasted a whole lot of time because they decided to just put my tire in a corner and notify nobody. COOL. Idk maybe next time come out with the finished fixed tire and give it to the customer Or leave it in the main lobby by the door connecting to the garage. I ordered my tires and installation from Walmart in Vadnais Heights. When I showed up for my appointment today, the tire people at Walmart said they could not install those tires, even though I ordered them through their website and the website said they could. I called the closest discount tire and they were happy to fit me in the same morning almost immediately. Great experience and the employees were professional, friendly and my dogs loved them as well. I would advise avoiding the maplewood mn location. In April I bought new tires and wanted to order 18" steel wheels, the employee insisted they didnt make 18" steel wheels vut he could sell me aluminum ones at a far greater price, I was like do you hear yourself- strike one Now last week December 5th I had bought a brand new set of Rims ,as well as brand new blizzak tires.I went there to have them mounted and they tried to tell me every sensor was bad and they wanted to sell me new ones at $280 more, I said nope see ya... The location in W St Paul Mn is exceptional, I would drive the extra 10 miles to go there before I spent a penny at the maplewood mn location. read more

I've had many great experiences at this Discount Tire. It's very affordable and the service is always 5 Star. They are happy to help with flat tires and free rotations as often as you would like. Service is generally quick and can be in/out within an hour or two. They have stores and a Caribou across the street if you don't want to wait in store. read more

One evening, I walked into my garage and was greeted by the terrible sight of a flat tire. I panicked - I had places to go the next day! I did a quick Google search and found this Discount Tire location. The website interface was great. I was able to identify the exact tires I needed and purchase them online (with a discount, no less!). I got an appointment the next morning, and they had my tires ready to go. The whole process took 30 minutes! I especially appreciated the staff members. They were helpful and professional. Went online to find tires, chatted with someone for a set. Was told all infos will be send to this location and should get a call within a week or two. Four months went by and nothing. Ok, keep it cool, they probably just forgot and I wasn't that hurry at the time. Lol. Was off work that day, gave them a call around 9-10 am and someone wrote me up and said tires will come from warehouse with a guesstimated of noon-1pm since it's not in stock. Was told someone will call me once tires arrive. 4pm, no call yet. Ok, keep it cool, they probably forgot again. Lol So i called back and asked what the heck is going. Different guy looked up infos and said no tires and probably was the warehouse technical problem but for me to drop off my wheels, they will have them mounted tomorrow by the time I'm off work. Drove there quickly before they're closed to drop my wheels and PAID in full! Next day, got off 4pm, drove there. Asked to pick my wheels and tires. Was told to pull back. Started helping the tech lifted my wheels and tires into truck until I noticed the chalk marks on tires. WTF, these are my old tires and not the new one, technician have no idea what was going on. Went back into to talk the same guy that told me to pull around. He looked up infos and said your tires are out back, we will have them mounted and be ready in an hour. Me at this point, seriously?!! Running out of patience. I'm just gonna get my fu%&@ing refunds if they're not mounted this time. An hour and half later, finally god damn! During my most recent visit, my car received damage, as well as the incorrect tires. Long story short (i have ALL documentation to back claims): The manager (Darren) acted concerned and offered me an acceptable remedy, however he quit within days of us talking (email and phone). Nothing was done. Months later and many more calls and emails (Danny) have left me with nothing. I STILL DON'T HAVE THE TIRES I PAID FOR; my car remains damaged. They provided me with a hard-compound, summer focused tire for my AWD wagon that is for MINNESOTA WINTERS. They act like they did me a favor by leaving the mistake tires on. I'm not tracking this car, I'm driving my child to school in it. Morons. Total incompetence. This is still UNRESOLVED. read more

I had a perfect tire purchasing experience. I called to talk with a friendly sales specialist. Yes, the old school way - dial the phone #, talk to a real person and get specific recommendations. When I called from home, I was in a tight spot - one failing tire and I needed a whole set installed ASAP. It's my bride's daily drive car, used for toting grandkids. And I was leaving for a work trip in the afternoon. I explained my busy day and they put me in their service queue while I was on the phone. The helpful sales specialist talked me through my options, explaining the different types of tires, their features, price, etc. I made a choice on the phone and got the final quote. I hung up and drove directly to the shop. When I arrived, the paperwork was ready, they got me in right away and I paid. I walked across the street to grab a cup of Caribou coffee and do some work remotely. I came back to the Discount Tires shop in an hour and the whole job was done. The entire experience, from calling the shop to returning home with a new set of tires lasted 2 hours!! I had plenty of time to get ready for my work trip. Holy wow. So, I bought a tire from another company, but, it got a nail in it. I came in hoping to get it repaired and was prepared to spend some money to fix it. But, they fixed ur for free. Not only that, I offered a tip to the employee who fixed my tire. He graciously replied saying, "No sir, this is my job." His name was Brett. Several years ago, me and 100 of my other Minnesotan neighbors came here in a panic as we got hit with a surprise snowstorm the day prior -- and were bracing for additional storms to come. They were swamped with work, but incredibly courteous. The manager(s) brought in extra workers to keep up with the demand and the employees were working extra hours after the store was technically "closed." I have never had a bad experience with Discount Tires. I've been a repeat customer for years now and always have a genuinely good interaction/outcome every single time. For whatever reason, tire stores are extremely busy these days and the Discount Tire store in Maplewood is no exception, which can have a negative impact on customer service. But that was not the case in my experience. They appear to be doing everything they can to handle the rush. The manager (Danny) sorted the line of people waiting at the store in the morning, which went relatively quickly. He then ordered some winter tires for me when they discovered that mine were worn. If you need tires these days expect there to be a line. You can help by looking into what tire you want before you get to the store at Discount Tires and Tire Rack's websites. Tire Rack is owned by Discount Tire so whatever they have Discount Tire should be able to get. But be patient and consider how hard everyone is working at the store. You may have to sit around for a while, but the employees are not getting a break in the action. read more

I went to the Maplewood Discount Tire as my vehicle had a bad tire pressure sensor. The sales associate at the counter told me to leave the key and key fab so they could program it. They completed the job and I drove it fir 15 minutes as they suggested so the car could recgnize it. After 15 minutes the alert came up saying service tire monitoring system, so I went back and told them they probably put in the wrong tire pressure sensor. The Tech told me they always put in the plug in ones first and if it doesn't work they then put in programmable one..WTF..They told me at the counter they need my key fab to program it and charged me for the programmable one. I feel like it was a bait and switch that did not work, which made me mad and thus leaving this review for others to read. Beware if you go there and get tire pressure sensors repaired make sure you tell the tech in back or they wont put it in first. They will put cheaper clip in one in..aka generic. Thanks. read more

I love Discount Tire in Maplewood. Period. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and never over-sell or pressure you to purchase unnecessary add-ons. I bought my second set of tires (second vehicle serviced) on 9/1/18, but stopped in about two weeks prior to check on upcoming deals or promotions. They set up my appointment, hooked me up with a deal, and when I came back for my appointment, my wheels were installed in 40 minutes. No long, awkward wait or bad attitudes. Friendly tip to anyone having to buy tires: in your driver door jamb, there is a guide of wheel sizes and air pressure level appropriate for your vehicle. Take a picture and bring it inside to get the most accurate availability and pricing (unless you have oversized / specialty wheels/tires, then you'll want to work that out with the staff). Or, if you're a DIY fiend, this will make your online endeavors easier. It might be a while, but I will return the next time I need tires! I took my Dodge Charger to Discount Tire in Maplewood last night after I got a call a day earlier saying my special order tires were in. I got there and it took half an hour alone just to confirm that my tires were actually there, then I had to give them all of the information on the order all over again. After they finally got the invoice (45 minutes in at this point.) I was told it would be about an hour, and I ended up waiting for over two. Not exactly a well oiled machine. To top it off, when one of the employees backed my car off the rack, he gunned the engine of my car and spun the tires pulling out of the garage. "Appointment" process is a joke. Made a 10am appointment on a busy day. Checked in quickly and they recommended two new tires that were not in stock (understandable). They could get the tires in 3 hours from another store, so I was told to come back (no problem!). Checked back in around 1:30 as requested. Received automated text estimating completion in ~45 minutes. Walked about to a few neighboring businesses and returned in ~45 minutes. Not done. Okay, a delay on a busy day. Happy to wait a bit. I ended up leaving at 4:30pm without any tires (3+ hours after I returned at their requested time), 2 hours after their estimated completion time. Wasted most of a day for no benefit whatsoever. My best guess is that when I returned at their appointed time, they reclassified me as a "Walk-In" and deprioritized the work on my car (I saw several people with appointments arrive around 3pm and leave with their work completed 75-90 minutes later). This despite them asking ME to return in a specific time window and me checking in several times during the arduous wait to ask about the delay relative to my appointment time/their estimates/promises. read more

The next day they still charged my bank card. There is nothing that allows you to cxl your order online and they don't make it clear that only your appointment is cancelled.
