    Curly fries

We came in tonight after the 49ers game. TVs are outside with different news wrap ups of the game but the volume was on. It's tvs. There were several flies circling on the sidewalk. But... The sandwiches were really good. I got the veggie and the cashier asked if I wanted garlic and spinach and yes, I did. We also had the original cheesesteak. Both filled and dense. Delicious. We shared the curly fries.

One of my favorite cheesesteak joints in the city! The owners are super friendly and always accommodating. They have a nice selection of beers and it's definitely a fun time when footballs on (if you're an eagles fan and you don't know about this place, you MUST check Jakes Steaks out!) They PACK their cheesesteaks with meat. My go to is the mushroom. I tried their cheesesteak eggroll and it instantly became a favorite (I believe it's currently a special - but if you see the sign up that they have it you gotta try it out) I came during an eagles game so the house was packed and it was really fun to experience the energy from all the fans. They also have a Mission Location which is just as good :)

Jake's is still doing it. Very good cheesesteak still. Fried mushrooms absolutely terrible. Hotdog traditional. If you want a cheesesteak this will get the job done.

The place is located on a small but crowded street. Parking can be a challenge, as the Moscone Softball Fields are close by. This was my first time at Jake's. Friendly service. Bar service available. Multiple TV screens showing professional sports. 12" Original Philly Cheesesteak: Go traditional " Whiz wit" (This means cheese Whiz, with onions. Good sized sandwich. They did not skimp on the meat, which was compactly chopped up and seasoned well. The Amoroso bread was soft yet firm. I am not a Philly cheesesteak expert, but I thought this was pretty good and delicious. Yelp Check-in and get a free soda.

amazing environment for a philadelphia sports fan. The cheesesteaks are the best you'll get in the bay area and they sell tastykakes!! Definitely the place to go for philly sports games. Bartenders and servers have some incredible energy as well

    Spinach mushroom cheese steak

Ordered spinach mushroom cheese steak. Tastes really good. Fresh ingredients! I love the bread too. I will be back!

Got the 12" and it looked loaded with steak but somehow felt a little light, and I'm not a big guy. But still it's delicious with the whiz and the bread was toasty and airy. For all I know this is exactly how it is in Philly, but I've had other cheesesteaks that had thicker meat, more onions, and was more filling. And it's Eagles country here so must've been a blast last month and during the season.

Not a pretty picture, but damn fine sandwich: Original Philly Cheesesteak

IMSRO, the best cheesesteak in SF. The kitchen is not fast. And the indoor ambiance is not existent. But order the basic cheesesteak, order with peppers, sit outside if it's a nice day. And enjoy a delicious sandwich. Worth the wait.

They were out of a few things we wanted, which I could live with, but the food is what got me. Most of the reviews say the burgers were really good and the buns were good as well. I felt the buns might have been at the point where they were almost going stale. Like they wanted to be fresh, but something was holding them back from being fresh. Maybe if the buns had been warmed a bit, it would have helped. The onion rings weren't bad, a bit crunchy, more so than your average beer battered onion ring, but I suppose I would have to try them again to really say if I like them or not. I know it was early and it was a bar setting, but having to sit, not be given a menu, had to grab from a different table along the wall, go up and order, didn't sit well with me. Maybe it's just how the bar is? Not sure as I've never been. The bartender that took my order was nice and friendly. Decent place to watch a game? Sure, looking for a lunch spot for a quick bite? Probably not.

They offer a huge variety of New American fare with generous shareable portions or small plates. The layout was well thought out as every table is comfortable and offers visitors enough room to play musical chairs for those large group meetups. The Brixton gets busy fairly often, but again, the layout and spacing makes it such that you can hear everyone in your party without screaming. The food is great, and I've yet to find a dish that I wouldn't resoundingly recommend. The servers are knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. The Brixton is always on my recommendation list as a place to hang out in the Marina/Cow Hollow area.

All pastry and only a tiny bit of apples. Our server was very helpful and accommodating. I understand that the kitchen was slammed. But I always wonder when the wait staff who takes your order is not the one delivering your food. That's where the mistakes happen. My scallops were delicious. All four tiny ones. Next time we'll come when it's hopefully quieter.

Unfortunately, our second visit for Mother's Day dinner was a let down. Right away, our male server informed us they were already out of prime rib, which was disappointing considering it's one of the main reasons people come here. He also didn't seem very welcoming from the start. We ended up ordering the NY pepper steak, lobster ravioli, and escargot. The escargot was fine, but the lobster ravioli was honestly a huge letdown. It came with only six small pieces for around $40 and tasted like something I could've bought frozen from Trader Joe's and topped with Alfredo sauce at home. Definitely not worth the price. The steak portion itself was decent, but there was confusion with the sides. We asked to substitute both sides for baked potatoes, but the server misunderstood. She later offered to bring another baked potato, but by then we didn't want to risk being charged extra. What frustrated us more was the lack of transparency. The menu states that all entrees come with a baked potato, but apparently pasta dishes don't qualify. When we mentioned how disappointed we were with the lobster ravioli portion, the response was basically offering us more complimentary bread or ordering an additional entree. The server even acknowledged that the ravioli portions are not entree size, which honestly made it worse. Overall, the experience completely turned us off. Between being out of prime rib, the poor value, confusing menu details, and underwhelming service, I don't think I'll be back. Also worth noting: they charge a credit card processing fee.
