Stopped here on our way from Houston through Henderson. Actually was a light snow as we came into town this evening. Older than the new one they opened up in Mount Pleasant. I ordered the grilled shrimp and steak. It was flavorful and filling. The shrimp were smaller than the ones in our hometown Jalapeño Tree. Service was good, not tons of people so easy to get our food quickly. Not a lot of choices in the area but fast food and a couple family owned restaurants. Overall not bad. read more

Stopped through on our travels. The food was good but my fajitas were not hot and sizzling. The green sauce just how I like it . Cold! The decor is great and easy to find. Nice clean restrooms. Wait staff was nice just needs to be a little more attentive. Plenty of parking. read more

This use to be a great restaurant! This place is a joke now! I came inside and ordered and they gave me someone else's order. When I called they asked what order I had and informed me they didn't have my number! I actually use to work for The Jalapeño Tree in 98 and 99. I got news for you people, you can get every order right. This is doing the job you are paid for, you don't need phone numbers if you aren't a screw up! These people all looked to be around age 40, I'm not picking on teenagers. read more

Stopped in while traveling through Henderson. The restaurant was clean as were the bathrooms but the food was mediocre. I ordered the beef fajitas, they were so tough I could barely eat them. The flavor was nonexistent; not good by any stretch of the imagination. Jacksonville's is better but still nothing to write home to mom about. read more

We went there this week with family to do a taste test to compare Jalapeño tree, to the Tia Juanita's restaurant that's become very popular here in Henderson and decided to contrast the taste between similar entrées in both places, I stuck to my favorite and my sister-in-law still insisted that jalapeño tree was better so it all depends on what kind of taste you're looking for, but it was good and their tortilla soup is excellent read more

The food was fine, but the service... oh my gosh. I barely had time to ask for anything before the waitress walked away, she brought the wrong drink out and just really didn't seem to care that we were there. ON ANOTHER NOTE: from the table over from us, we heard a waitress ask if they wanted tortillas.... but she pronounced the 'L's like an English L. The food was great the prices were good and the service was wonderful.Tia did a wonderful job. The thing that I didn't like was. There was 8 of us and I realize that Sunday rush we all had to cram into a booth with 8 people 4 adults 3 teenagers and a high chair at the end of the booth and I think that they could have arranged a placement for 8 a little better. read more

The Jalapeno Tree chain is OK, albit a bit over priced. As far as Tex-Mex food goes, its OK, although portion size is small. My fajitas were tender and tasty and the salsa is good. Margaritas are very sweet, as if made with white wine. That said, with the very limited offering of non-fast-food restaurants in Henderson, the town is lucky that the Jalapeno Tree is here. read more

It really was pretty decent Mexican food for East Texas and I have consistently enjoyed eating here. They were sweeping up and cleaning the place while customers were eating their food which is a big NO NO in my books. It seems that the staff could have a little more class in dealing with customers and making sure their dining experience was optimal. That said, the portions were huge, and it was quite good. They need to work on better service somehow. read more

Disappointing. First sign should have been the fact that jalapeños don't grow on trees. Table for one took over an hour to get fajitas. Once they came out sizzling, I was excited to finally have dinner. But they forgot the setup. I asked and they seemed put out out that I wanted a setup. As I waited for the setup I sat listening to sizzle subside from my fajitas. Once the setup arrived I was lucky that dinner was at least warm. I was still missing a plate. Not sure if they expect you to just eat over the table and drip fajita juice everywhere. Fajitas were eh.... The Dox XX came out correctly so that's a plus. read more

This was probably the worst dining expierence that I have ever had. On a night where there was hardly anyone in the resturant, we still had to wait for over an hour for our food to arrive. The staff was appologetic, but that does not excuse the cold food they brought out. I will Never go back there again. read more

The food is over price and no effort is put in to making it. No flavor, made sloppy and the service sucks. Beef Fajita has no flavor.

We've eaten here a few times and the food is okay. We came in most recently for a late lunch and our server Markeques was unbelievable. Someone should tell him that he is in the customer service business. He did not smile once and he cracked his knuckles while taking our order. It wasn't just us, I watched and he acted the same way to the other tables nearby. We'll be back but only because we haven't found something better in Henderson. Note: the service at the Jalapeno Tree in Jacksonville is much much better. read more

Ordered a To-go order of just chips and Salsa, I just feel like it is ridiculous to charge customers for a bag of chips, when their prices for salsa are all different (red is a bit cheaper then Green salsa). I understand green salsa is what a lot of people like from this place but In my opinion I think chips should go with it, just how they serve Chips AND salsa when dining in. Driving all the way from Houston, having to wait 8 min for someone to attend me at the entrance, and did not give me a receipt, and on top of this charge me for the wrong items until i asked her to see the prices. read more

Very nice looking establishment in Henderson, TX. I wont even lie, I stopped by just because of the nice looking exterior, knowing full well that a lot of times that just means they have something to hide. Upon entering I stood around for a while feeling like somewhat of an idiot not sure if I was supposed to be waiting to be seated or not (even though a sign painted on the wall clearly states I was in the right). A few minutes go by and I decided to poke my head around and finally caught someones attention and was seated. Aside from that initial hiccup, the service was acceptable. It was huge on the inside, and fairly dead when I went, however it usually has a full parking lot from what ive seen. I had no other issues, the food was standard tex-mex. We stopped here on our commute back to Shreveport for Austin. We had seen a few different Jalapeno tree resteraunts on our commute, so we decided to stop in and give it a try. We got seated instantly. Our waitress was not very friendly, and seemed to being doing her job at the bare minimum. She got us our drinks and we ordered queso (of course) and tacos and soup. It took a while for the queso to make it to our table, it probably arrived less then 5 minutes before our food did. However, the salsa was pretty good and we munched on that while waiting. When we received the queso it was disappointing. It is rare that I find I queso that I don't like, but we didnt even finish a small queso. It was not very good. I got the soup and that was good, just not anything spectacular to remember. After we finished our meals it took a while for us to get our check. We had to look for the lady and request it. Overall our experience was a little below average. The food nor the service was spectacular, and i most likely will not be visiting a jalapeno tree again. read more

I'll waiter wasn't good. We had to repeat our order at least 3 times. Getting refills was nearly impossible. Waiter was hardly around. Actually had to go get my own beer from the bar which was order but never delivered it sat up there for about 15 minutes. Food was ok, but don't think I'll be back anytime soon read more

I've lived here for eight years. Every year or so on a holiday I give this place a chance - because it's one of the only places open on holidays. And each and every time I'm disappointed. It's WAY over priced and I wouldn't feed the beef fajita meat to my dogs. And forget about getting the order correct or timely with a take out order. There are far more better Mexican food options in Henderson than this garbage. Even on a holiday! read more

The food was absolutely amazing! We loved the frozen margaritas, I didn't remember them being this good last time this place has really stepped their game up! If the corporate arena cares about its customers' reviews, I would appreciate a contact. You have my information from the last low review. I don't appreciate being harassed and embarrassed by Tracy, your restaurant manager in Jacksonville, nor talking down at me. We received a lot of stares from the employees when entering the restaurant and during our meal. The food was nothing to brag about. The chips for the nachos were soggy. I had to remind the waitress that I requested a lemon for my tea. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

Disappointed once again. Our waiter wasn't bad tonight, but once again the kitchen messed up my dinner order. This was the second time in a row that's happened. I think it must stem from poor management because I've never had a manager come check on our table after they've made a mistake and zero effort was made to correct the issue or offer any sort of make good either time. The wife and I coincidently wanted the vegetarian quesadillas appetizers for our meal. We both thought they were excellent. I also had a small bowl of charro beans which were excellent as well. Chips were crispy, and salsa and green dipping sauces were above average. Service was prompt. We will stop again next time we go through Henderson, TX. read more
