I have been to this location 2 times now. Once in November 2011 and once in January 2012. SUMMARY: Very good place for an authentic mexican meal -- NOT A TACO SHOP... This is NOT a Taco Shop so if you are from SoCal, like me, don't expect to go here and get bomb Carne Asada Fries. They are a family restaurant. Don't go here to get things a la carte... go here if you want a MEAL! They do have an extensive menu and prepare Mexican food authentically, which makes sense since it is apparently family run. The menu is so impressive with the variety. There is also a full bar and the back page of the menu is devoted to about 80 mixed drinks they know how to make which is quite a bit more impressive than any bar I have been to recently. Additionally everything is affordable.. particularly for me as I live in SoCal and prices are much higher there. They are consistent with the service and the food. You start with chips and salsa at the table and I am impressed with the flavor of this salsa. It isn't as hot as I like but that is good for the average consumer. The Chili Verde was excellent as was the Steak Fajitas. The steak was very lean and full of flavor. The pork was tender and flavorful as well. It appeared that the other food my family ordered was also good. The beans and rice are also very good... At the end of the meal they bring cinnamon crisps with raspberry (I think) sauce and whipped cream on them to everyone at the table... a nice refreshing treat to end the meal. The location is modest in outside presentation but the inside is HUGE. It would be a great place for a party. The service is attentive and friendly. When I spoke a few words of spanish they were immediately excited and encouraged me to try more with them. very bland food; no salt, no garlic, no black pepper on table or on the supposed wood fired steak that had no smoke flavor. they also charged extra for using a credit card and even though the sticker at the register said they gave a discount for paying in cash, that turn out to be false. prices for dinner were pretty high imo. I only gave it two stars due to the ambiance of the decor inside. I shall not be returning as I had to bring most of the meal home to add garlic, salt and pepper to my meal to even be able to halfway enjoy the meal. This restaurant used to be one of my favorites for Mexican food years ago, yet their prices have gone up and the quality has gone Way down. I went here for the first time last weekend. The service and food were great. I had carne asada and it was tender and seasoned perfectly. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the server was not going to give me a straw with my water. He suggested I needed to order a drink.... that you pay for. I seriously thought he was joking...he wasn't. I couldn't believe it! I know there's a ban on straws but to not want to give me a straw because I didn't pay for a drink is ridiculous. Never order online at this place. They do not know how to handle online orders. They were busy but there were plenty of booths open. I waited 55 minutes and finally they came over to me and said we can't find your order. Which was frustrating because they asked me my order name a few times. I said, I would just cancel but I already paid. I was told that the kitchen was the bottleneck. They found my order a few minutes later. I asked how long it would be and he said I'm next. 15 minutes later they came out with my food. The food is ok, basic Mexican fare a step up from taco bell. A little too salty. My issue is I've eaten there twice and both times they were funny with the money. The first time they overcharged me $2 and this time i gave the girl $15 for a $9.50 meal, said "give me $3 back." She claimed i only gave her $10. Jaslisco's is a favorite local restaurant of my family. The food is dependably good. Some items are better than other, but it's all been good. I really appreciate that they have both ground beef and shredded beef. Some dishes seem to taste better with shredded beef and not all Mexican restaurants have it.The staff has always been very friendly, though not always quick. read more

Upon receiving it, I wasn't impressed with my first taste, so I took another bite, still did not agree with my taste buds. My friend had ordered the same thing and even though there was only one other table in the restaurant at the time, our server was no where to be found and when he finally appeared and we asked if we could swap them out for just a plain cheese quesadilla instead since we didn't like it. We were told we still had to pay for what we ordered. He finally said fine fine just this one time, I will get you one cheese quesadilla but the other you have to pay for. My friend and I ended up sharing one cheese quesadilla, which still honestly wasn't even that great and paying full price for the one that neither of us liked and wasn't even touched. Our server also informed us that large margaritas were on special today for $5.75. When our bill was received, noticed that we were charged $6.75. Will not come here ever again. read more

Cold, wet weather makes me want something hot, meaning both "caliente" and "picante." Super Taco is usually my go-to for those, but the recent snow had them closed on a Saturday, so DLW and I hit Jalisco. I had been here with coworkers for weekday lunch, so I pretty much knew what to expect. Pluses are hotter than usual salsa with the chips, lunch menu that is offered every day instead of just on weekdays, and a full bar. Minuses are a rather dingy interior, gigantic yet routine menu, and spotty service. Portions are huge. Even the lunch offerings are plenty for a dinner serving. We had a chimichanga and chili verde burrito, and couldn't finish everything, including rice and beans which were so-so. This is an okay spot for lunch, but just okay. read more

My parents and I had a tradition of going here every time they were in town to visit. The only reason we stopped is because they kind of got bored, I guess, and we started checking out all the hipster places in town. It's been amusing. Anyway, this place is great and I want to go again because I miss it. They have tons of stuff on the menu, pretty much any combination of any "Mexican restaurant food" you might be thinking of. The portions are gigantic, and you will leave completely satisfied and stuffed. One time I spilled water all over the place (totally full glass) and they gave me enough napkins to cover the table about three inches thick, haha. Another time I totally messed up my order (my fault) and they offered to switch it out. I was cool with it, I don't mind. They give you chips and salsa, and refill your chips as much as you want. Same with water. A lot of times they're slow, and to give them a break I usually just ask them to leave the pitcher for us. The wait time isn't bad at all and the staff is super friendly and remembers my dad even if we don't visit for like 3 months, which just blows my mind. My dad is super impressed. I love, love, love, love, love that they have tamales on the menu. Truly a Eugene treasure. That's not something every place does, you know. At the end of your meal they give you some fried cinnamon-sugar coated desserts, I believe these are called buñuelos. They're a really great end to your meal. Anyway, if you want something tasty, filling, and in a comfy as heck environment, this place is totally bound to please. Please support them and their wonderful customer service. This place is owned by the same people who own Don Juan's on River Road. Somehow the move across town has left some of the flavor behind. This place is located in the strip mall along west 11th before you hit Fred Meyer's. If you are on that side of town and are wanting a quick lunch that isn't fast food, this is a good choice. The wait staff is very prompt, the atmosphere typical, but the food lacks luster. If you are going for standards, the food is like most other places in Eugene. This has to be some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered the deluxe tostada with ground beef. By the time I got home, it was ice cold and what I could find of the "crispy flour tortilla" was nothing but mush. For $10.75, you get maybe a tablespoon of meat filling and beans below a bunch of shredded lettuce. They told me the small order of rice wasn't enough for two people, but they still allowed me to order it even though the 2nd entree, which they talked me into getting, came with rice. Total ripoff. The people that answer the phone don't listen to you, and just repeat themselves over and over. I give 3 stars because it was the average food I was expecting, and not deserving of 5 stars. They were friendly when they sat us and checked on us once or twice after dropping off the food. It kind of took a long time for the corn tortillas I ordered with my lunch to arrive, but it wasn't too big of a deal. As mentioned by others the portions were ridiculously large. We have been eating here for years when we feel like being treated like family, spending a reasonable amount of money and having our favorite Mexican seafood dishes. I noticed that others who rate this place less than 4 didn't try the seafood. There is menu of traditional and consistently well cooked dishes, but the seafood is their specialty. Just had the crab enchiladas last night and found it to have lot's of real crab in a tasty authentic enchilada sauce, just the way I like it. I've had this many times over the last 20 years and it has consistent quality. Also the shrimp Fajitas are the best in town.
