Customer service was super friendly, ordered 3 tacos and a asada burrito to go, came out quick! Definitely returning, handmade tortillas, all the salsas were super good! Burrito was huge, on the greasy side for sure but still good, super filled with meat. Not stingy on the meat here which I appreciate. This is about as authentic as you're going to get in Eugene. Parking is extremely limited...like 2 spots out front limited. It's totally worth it to find somewhere else to park and walk. They've got out door seating and a pretty good size indoor dining area as well. I ordered 3 carne asada tacos and two carnitas tacos with a side of beans and rice. They marinate the carne asada which really sets them apart from other restaurants. It adds so much flavor! The portion sizes were good, I could barely close them. El Rancho Taqueria earns its high ratings, We had the carnitas plate and it was absolutely delicious and very authentic. Large portions of legit, slow roasted carnitas (enough for 2) served with 4 tortillas, grilled chiles and onions plus rice and beans. We added a large guacamole and chips and both left stuffed and extremely happy. Their verde hot sauce was a standout and I wish I lived closer so I could try all of their salsa offerings. I have been seeing a friend of mine post about this place, and have been meaning to check it out before seeing my friends posts. The food looked delicious in the pictures from my friends, and this particular person introduced me to the legit taco carts many, many years ago, so I trust this persons word of mouth when he recommends some where to eat. My guy, and I were running around town yesterday starving, and decided we wanted a quick bite. We were near the Whitaker neighborhood, and have basically tried everything around besides this spot. We showed up during non peak times, so we were able to snag a spot right in the front of the building. I basically already knew what I wanted based on the pictures my friend had posted, which was the carne asada. My guy had the carne asada fries. They have a wonderful salsa bar, and great customer service. There was even a generous customer in there who opened the door for us upon walking in. Very kind people. From what I hear there is a new owner, and the place has been renovated. I didn't see the place before, but what I can say is the place is nice inside. I can't wait to return for some more delicious food. I just can't decide on what I want next...carnita's, torta's, taco's.... To be continued I guess..... read more

I stopped in after shopping at the grocery store next door. I had the impression that they had taken over from other owners. It is now owned by the grocery store people. I got heuvos rancheros as I wanted breakfast. The menu is different from the photos. Prices are more. It was $12 for the meal with rice &beans and I was asked if I wanted meat - I added carne asada for $4 more. It was a huge piece. I ate the eggs & crunchy tortillas while there and took the rest home. The ranchero sauce on the meal was delicious and different from others I have had before. I had half the steak, rice & beans for dinner, and the rest with two eggs for breakfast. Three delicious meals is quite a good deal and I aim to return to try the Birria which they do on weekends along with pozole. read more

With the proximity to the Whitaker, the owner of the building could have just as easily let a hipster place take over. But she was thinking of the gente in the community and opened a place of her own. And i am glad she did. Look. I understand there was a place here before that served the community. But they lost my business years ago. Because they WERE RESERVING FOOD! And the place was not clean. I will be going back. The rice does have broth, so I will avoid that. Lysol with a hint of linoleum and melted ice water for your "horchata"... that will be $22 and a case of long-term trauma. I was told "try it for authentic tacos". I am from Southern California originally and have spent a lifetime eating amazing street tacos in LA and Mexico....these were horrific. Old meat, poorly seasoned. Horribly cooked and held way too long at temperature to serve them and save money. The place smells like Lysol and bathroom and feels like the kind of building you would...well actually, you'd never go in there once you opened the door. Horchata was basically melted ice water and they had no interest in fixing any of the trash they sold us. We tried everything on the menu which is my style of tasting a new spot...skip this place so you don't end up thinking "authentic"="food poisoning and bland burnt greasy and yet somehow dry". read more

I love this place! Delicious sopes with six salsas to choose from (be still my heart) and they were kind enough to satisfy my avocado craving upon request. There's a fairly large seating area and food came out fast. They don't have a huge variety of vegetarian options, but what they do have is delicious. My mouth is watering as I type this review. Everything served is homemade and fresh. The tortillas were flakey, soft, and melt in your mouth good. The combo platter was HUGE and savory. My son had a steak burrito that was filled with lean, clean, and mean ingredients. The selection of hot sauces was stellar as was the service.
