Jalisco has been a staple for myself for years. I used to work in the area and would typically go there after work at night to get my fix of Mexican food. It has been a while since I've been there but I believe they were a later night spot. Service has always been solid, people over the phones have been nice, and ultimately - the food has always been great. To me, great Mexican food always starts with great steak, and I wouldn't be coming here if they didn't have just that. Everything else falls into place after that. From decently sized burritos to hunger satisfying tortas, there is something for everyone here. The nachos are incredible and definitely something to share with someone as well from what I can remember. Can't beat a glass bottle of coke with a meal as well. if I could do 0 stars I would, 2 people dinner and they tried charging me an extra$19 meal when I told them about it they changed it but said my table had 6 people and added a high tip for themselves and then got mad when I took my Cash tip off the table and off my receipt charge will never be back again. read more

I come to this restaurant all the time I live right down the block the first time there was a hair my Diablo shrimp I notified them and got a refund for the food . second time I came back like I said I live down the block everyone makes mistakes maybe I'll give it another try . as I order the lady speaks no English doesn't understand me or my husband they had to get another waiter who barley understood as well . I got a taco dinner tacos were so greesy I did not enjoy it at all I couldn't even eat them they brought the salsas after 5mintues of having our food and when I told the waiter about this she basically couldnt help any discount or remake . I always drop by here whenever I'm in town and I love it. It is a little pricey I feel, especially for the lengua tacos, but I always stay with family that lives close by so it's easy to visit. I tend to get lengua or carne asada tacos, I've gotten the burrito once and I wasn't a fan. I don't think the lengua is worth it anymore though, just get carne asada. Bottled water or soda here, you can do take-out or dine-in (seat yourself). Worth stopping by if you're nearby! read more

Had an amazing experience here this past weekend. After ending my long weekend at summer smash music festival just up the road, I was looking for something quick to grab before heading home on an hour drive. Jalisco's took my order and had it ready within 15 minutes. Thoroughly impressed with how efficient and kind the staff was! I may be biased but tacos always hit the spot for me. Jaliscos has been a hometown staple in Burbank as far as I can remember. Even the store right behind it. Never have I been there before until a few days ago. Overall it's a great Mexican restaurant. My friends I came here with say it's some of the best food they had in Illinois. Staff is bilingual, they do takeout, they have bottled and canned soda. Prices aren't too bad either. They need to hire more people. I've been coming here for many years and never had such a bad experience. From waiting long for the food. Our waiter was rude and had a attitude. He never checked on us to ask if we needed anything. We asked him for sour cream twice and never brought it to us, and then when I went to pay, the lady was telling me what was being charged and she tried charging us for the sour cream. Good service but lacks on flavor. I got the carne asada fajitas to go. The food was cooked fresh but there was a huge puddle of grease in the bottom of the container. I'm talking a good 3-4 ounces. It was more like fajita soup. Lots of grease. The steak and the veggies were cooked well, but the steak had no flavor. The dark sauce they have was really good but the verde, once again, lacked flavor. I really liked the atmosphere of this place and the staff seemed nice. Went in on a Saturday morning for tamales and the guy took awhile picking them out. When i opened the package they were raw! I'm sure he could tell they were raw so instead of telling me they are not ready he just gave me raw tamales. read more

Only reason I gave a star is because you have to select at least 1 star review. I ordered two buckets of Carne en su jugo only to make it home and as eating out of one of the buckets, the food was spoiled. The carne en su jugo smelled and taste spoil. Their food is absolutely delicious! You get so much meat in the tacos and burritos. Much more than other Mexican restaurants around the area. The salsa is always so good but the chips are a hit or a miss. Sometimes they're delicious and fresh and other times they're stale. They added a 3.5% charge for when you pay with your debt or credit card though which I personally think is ridiculous. But other than that overall great food! read more

My family and I have been coming here for years and overall this place has always been mediocre at its best. Over the past year definitely more misses than hits. Very inconsistent with food preparation especially when it comes to steak tacos. They leave the meat sitting in the grill over long periods of time, which I know is common these days at a fast taco joint but Jaliscos definitely takes to the extreme. Not only that, but the cooks have no problem scraping the burnt bottom and placing it on a tortilla to be served. If you ever mention that the meat is hard to a sever, you'll usually get an attitude and eye roll. Also, ask for a glass of ice water and you'll be presented with a bottle of water, that you're expected to pay for BTW. Return it for a cup and again receive an eye roll. Customer service with a smile definitely not a strong point here. Oh, by the way you'll get a cup of warm water because apparently the owner is too cheap to spring for an ice maker or even a freezer. All that being said given the place is close to home, fast and not usually terrible we would often find ourselves coming back. That was until tonight. Tonight we needed food for the family (my wife, 4 year old son and me) and so stopped for two pork tacos, 1 steak taco only cheese, three steak with cilantro and onions and an horchata. Total cost $17 and some change. We take the order home and dig in. As I'm eating one of my three steak tacos (reminder: cilantro and onion) I find myself biting down into the loudest crunchiest piece of what I thought was bone ever. I immediately stop chewing and reach in and pull out this meat and..... glass!?!? I literally had a shard of GLASS in my taco! I was done at that point but was convinced to go back and present the situation to them which I did. It was about 9PM by that time and they were pretty full and had a line. Out of courtesy I requested one of the ladies to step to the side so that I can speak with her about my situation. I got a rushed near nonexistent response and she then asked the other server to see what I wanted instead. So I politely as not to disturb other customers told her of my glass taco and presented her with the evidence. She looked at it with a cook and they shook their heads and asked if I wanted two more tacos. I responded no and that I would like a refund. She then hastily sent me back to the other lady who laughingly asked to confirm my two taco refund to which I scoffed and indicated under the circumstances I expected a full refund. She laughed even more obviously and said that then she needs to call her manager. I stopped her there and said not to bother and that they can keep the $17. I then asked for everyone's attention and shared my experience and cautioned them and their children dining there as I was served glass in my taco which they don't think is a big deal. So I share with the Yelp community. For your safety as well as that of your family or children, beware and even better yet steer clear of this poorly run and nasty establishment. There are plenty of other convenient taco joints in the area that are far more worth your money and hold the glass. read more

Jalisco has been my go to taco stop for quite a while. But, sadly they have been going downhill. Stopped yesterday for my usual order of 1 Steak Taco, 1 Pork Taco and an order of Pico De Gallo and chips. What I got was 2 SMALL...cold...dry...tasteless tacos and a cup of what was mostly onions and water. There were people in there but not overly crowded so cant use that as an excuse. Since the last two times before we had gotten more lettuce on our burritos than steak. Well same again. I know the price of meat went up. While ordering the waitress (who wears a lot of make up) wasn't even looking at us and responding to what we were asking. They brought us the food and forgot tamales and sour cream but left before we could tell them. They charge 75 cents for a bottle of water because they refuse to serve you free water in a glass even though we bought two cans of soda. The carne asada plate was $12 and there was thin pieces of steak and not a lot either. Not worth the money at all. Couldn't believe how ignored we were today. Jalisco is delicious food and quick service at very good prices. Only bad part is you can't get a glass of water for free, but the bottled is only $0.75, so it's not too bad. My friends normally get the HUGE burritos here and thoroughly enjoy them. I have tried numerous different things on the menu and have to say that my favorites are the tacos chiles rellenos (it's like a chile party in my mouth), and the sopes de pollo. The horchata here is not the best so I wouldn't recommend ordering it, but the food is consistently delicioso. Also...the jukebox randomly turns on out of nowhere and belts out some random song...it's pretty funny, unless you're the one sitting next to the jukebox and your eardrum is assaulted. read more

Patrons can get rough depending on the time.
