I've been coming here since 2016, every time I get something different and Every time I get blow away by how good the food is. The first time i came here i was wondering the neighborhood walking around looking for a place to eat and found this Mexican restaurant around the corner from the park. I walked in and I was welcome by the friendly staff and they sat me right away. I was amazed by the theme of the restaurant, butterflies everywhere and a beautiful mural of the Island of Janitzio right in the entrance, the walls were really fun to look at and every-time i come back i find something new. My order was simple, I order one large Horchata and 3 Al pastor Tacos with everything and let me tell you, it was astonishing with so much flavor. The Horchata was cold and creamy, it's perfect for my tastebuds. The tacos had lots of meat on them and there were so delicious. The salsas had so much taste, the spiciness of the salsa complimented the sweet of the Al pastor tacos. In overall the experience was phenomenal and the prices were average. I really wanted to like this place, and maybe it's hit or miss and I chose the wrong dish, but I wasn't the most satisfied. The shrimp seemed to be cooked lazily and the sauce was runnier than I'm used to. The only flavor you got was the spice of the salsa. Fries were soggy, but whatever. My husband got a quesadilla, and the good thing is the tortillas are handmade, but this one was SO thick, and didn't look cooked all the way through. That was super disappointing cuz all you can taste is maza. Chips and salsa was good though - nice Smokey taste. Service was ok - she was nice, but not really attentive. Stay away from them, very bad service if you eat there and terrible customer service at the party meals. I ordered a meal for my wife and THEY messed up our order and instead of trying to correct the problem, I as a customer have to leave my party right at meal time to fix their mistake. And if you speak up to complain, they tell us not to worry, they were going to cancel the transaction just to avoid further inconvenience. However, the next day this guy, completely uneducated, by not letting you speak and interrupting the customer when they were speaking to explain the problem, comes out with that they are not going to cancel anything and that only $40 credit will be given next time. As if I were so ignorant as to come back and deal with them. I can see from the name the type of education with which they will treat you. Never, ever go back there. read more

Delicious food, drinks and ambiance! Parking can be limited their lot isn't very big. Their guacamole was perfectly seasoned. Their gordita with chicarron en salsa verde was delicious. I also had a caldo de pescado and it was loaded with fish and veggies. To drink we had an horchata and green juice, both were great. I had their cazuela cocktail and that was good too, just wish it didn't have a big wedge of lemon in there, I would probably ask to not have them add that next time. I am quite happy that I came here. The fact that they make their own tortillas by hand (I picture an older woman in the back) is enough to make me come back over and over. I absolutely love the foods that are presented here. From the sopas to the actual entree's that are enough for two as I quickly found out. I have tasted many items on the menu and can vouch that for the most part they are on point. The one thing that I have to demote on is that they have a habit of washing their floors while patrons are eating and the smell of fabuloso is eminent. Although not enough to deter me, that's one of the things I didn't care for as I ate this particular day. The drinks offered (they have a bar) are really interesting and good. The Margaritas are amazing and I can't say enough of the Michelladas. LAWD! Regardless of what you decide to order, you will definitely get a good tasting meal that reminds one of grandmas house. As I do remember my grandmas cooking very well. Okay now let me get back to the tortillas. They are so good! Now if they would let me buy them by the dozen, I think I would be living. But alas, they don't, so enjoy them while you are there. Carne la tampiquena was my entrée of choice this time around, and can I just say that it was WAY too much food. But who is complaining right? Heard about Tarasco thru a good friend of mine at work. When i was looking for locations for catering a birthday party for my daughter. Everyone absolutely loved the food. It was my first time catering from here and i was not disappointed at all! The food delivery was on time and they let us try every piece of food they cater while a visit to the restaurant. On a Recent visit we had a taste for some lunch and we decided to stop by and dine-in. Absolutely delicious! The Prices are very affordable and to top it off the food servings is a mountain to eat. I decided to check this place out after getting tired of El Solazo. I went to El Solazo for years and as time goes on, the food got smaller and more expensive. Fast forward to El Tarasco. I came in one afternoon for lunch and was surprised to see all the different lunch specials offered. I was shocked to see how much food I got for the price. Everything was excellent! I've now found my new spot! The chile relleno is my favorite. I also love their tacos and will usually get a combination of chicken, asada, and barbacoa. So good! I've also had their flautas and tortas. I have never been disappointed with the food or service. They are a small restaurant but have a full bar and banquet area. Update: I came here recently and usually my husband and I will get the tacos and chile rellenos. This time we tried something different. I ordered the chicken flautas and he got a steak burrito. The meat portions on each were very small. The flautas were very skinny and dry. This was surprising considering how much meat they put on their tacos. If you can get past the horrible service, the food is great. Had the chilaquiles with egg and steak and they were very good. My kids had pancakes which were not on the menu, so I was grateful for that. Outside of the food, the service was terrible at best. This would have been a 5 star review were it not for the service. Took 20 minutes before anyone noticed we were waiting for our order to be taken. While every other table had chips and salsa, we were never afforded that privilege, and when you three hungry kids under the age of 7 and they see other tables eating chips, it can make for a bad experience. I asked for a refill on water 2x and literally just got it as I am writing this review. When we arrived they were only 4 other tables full and 4 waitresses, so I dont understand how bad their efficiency was. Their best items on their menu are Gorditas and Sopes because they use an abundance of cheese and they use fresh ingredients to make them and the salsa is delicious. The steak fajitas are so bland and the camarones ala diabla weren't even spicy and they used chipotle sauce which wasn't even noted on the menu. Everything is just horrible.
