More concerning, however, was a serious issue regarding safety and how my family--particularly my child--was treated by staff. During our visit, my toddler was standing next to her high chair when employees were running through the restaurant. One employee fell and immediately blamed my child for the incident. I was present and witnessed the situation clearly. My child was approximately four feet away and was not involved in any way. The employee tripped on her own, yet responsibility was placed on my child. If the placement of a high chair in that area posed a concern, it should not have been offered or placed there to begin with. At no point did any staff member, including the manager, ask if my child was okay (especially since they thought she was tripped over) Instead, blame was directed towards my toddler, which made me feel unwelcome and judged for simply dining with a baby. Also if she really was tripped over- they did not care about her at all. This shows: THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THEIR GUESTS. A server came up to us and expressed how she was the blame despite not seeing what had happened. These employees are running up and down. That is why she tripped. This is my my toddler (thankfully) was not harmed. I hope the waitress is okay though, clearly this company does not care about safety much- as she kept working after. We spent over $150 during this visit, and the overall experience left me feeling that this establishment is not family-friendly. This is particularly disappointing, as families should feel safe and respected while dining. Due to this experience, we will not be returning, and I will be sharing this feedback with all friends and family. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately to prevent similar situations in the future. Maybe a training on where to put high chairs, how not to run in an establishment, and how to speak with respect towards others would be a good start.

So I'm driving around in the (sketchy) center looking and calling the restaurant and the lady that answered could give precise instruction on how to located the place. Literally the highest numbered address and the only suite PRIOR to going into the center. Like hello why not say I'm not inside the center. She kept saying if you in the center near the beauty supply go around the back. Then around the back from Louisiana Chicken. Honey let me advise you, you are prior to the center go around back doesn't make people will at least me think the corner prior to or outside of the center. I was trying to drive to the back of the center and it was not where you'd want your customers going. The spot is off Kingtree and I Street and you can't park on Kingtree nor would you want to there's homeless encampments all over there with antique store directly across the street from her door so any street parking on I would be taken by those patrons. And I had a disabled person in the car who couldn't walk from all the back where the shopping center began. So I'm sure she's missing out on foot traffic and inconvenience of parking traffic. If I maybe so bold as to give my humble opinion, break you lease and find another spot that isn't as scary for lone females and elder patrons to visit, that has robust lit parking and that doesn't put Baby in the back corner !! And am I glad I followed my spirit in this one! When I pulled up I was greeted with fragrant scent of spice then the doors opens to deep aromas of jerk and curry! Bag was ready and piping hot! And I must tell you it was the longest 14.6 miles home ever with all those spices slapping me in the face! We ordered 2 Dinners and a side. Dinner one was Oxtails with gravy the second was Curry Chicken. Each dinner comes with rice and peas, a cabbage mix and plantains. Along with a side of jerk chicken. The oxtails were delicious. Be sure to ask for heavy gravy as that's kind of light (Wish I had asked for that on the Curry). The flavor was so deep I flew back to my island retreat in my mind!! I am know as the bland food eater so the curry and oxtails were at my spice max. I enjoyed the fullness of the spices and even appreciated the heat that came with it . I polished off the remaining rice and peas later in the evening (glad I ask for additional gravy) and I think the flavor may have been a bit better after settling at room temp, as I I was staring at the plate like why isn't there more!! I did bravely taste the jerk and it too was a very Carribean scent (although too spicy for me personally) the flyover was rich and chicken was moist so that a plus and my partner gobbled it up so tells me that the item was good. Tameka, you and your hubby need a store front restaurant , food truck or hell a cart to be tablet to serve the AV. Y'all owe it to yourselves, the AV. The community, heck to me!
