    Stew chicken
    Chanel S.

This was my first time trying them and the jerk chicken is certified, mild spicy but the perfect kick, bbq taste. Not crazy spicy but maybe too spicy for kids. I also got curry chicken and stewed chicken. Everything was good. I'd be back for the jerk chicken for sure. The curry and stewed chicken was good but not amazing. Like if you don't feel like cooking, get it. I tried to call in advance to just pick it up in 10-15 minutes and they definitely needed more time than that and they had a steady flow of people getting food so it made sense. It took about 30-35 minutes total from when I called until when I picked up the food. As I waited I was looking around and they sale spices and sauces. They have specials for lunch from 11am-2pm Mon-Fri. Catering. Jerk Chicken Tuesdays Special. People are definitely getting the jerk chicken and oxtail.

Got the curry chicken lunch special for $10. The food was good, but there were only 3 small pieces of chicken. The chicken was really yummy though. The rice was also really good. My 3 slices of plantain were burnt.

Food was absolutely delicious and the boss man was super nice. Seasoned perfectly and big portions great price. Coming back when I'm in Palmdale - pineapple Jamaican soda was so good too.

First time here! I Took one bite of the rice and said this is it! You know it's a saying that when you eat at a Mexican restaurant if the salsa is good they know what they doing on the kitchen! At a Jamaican spot if the rice and peas are good! The whole place is fire! They definitely got it on locked! This place legit! Andrew the chef from LA and started naming all the spots he knew from the jungles to Crenshaw to pico and labrea stated talking about been cooking since 1996! He ain't Never lied this food is fire! Everything seasoned from the cabbage to the jerk chicken they bout to get all my money! You know when someone cooks with love! This the real deal don't take my word for it get a plate betchu you be back the day or sometime later that week! Cool laid back place nice vibe

Accidentally found this place earlier today... I was starving. Reviewed the menu in my car, walked in and immediately ordered. The establishment was clean and the chef was blessed. Approx 25mins later my order was ready. Fresh, Hot, and Full of Flavor! My taste buds couldn't be happier. Thank you chef!

Jerk Oxtail combo and a side of jerk chicken.

My first time trying Jamaican rhythm, the guy at the front was super friendly and helpful. I Ordered two Large oxtail plates and a side of jerk chicken, two Jamaican patties and two banana nut desserts. Everything was delicious, Fresh, flavorful and good portions, will be back for sure to try the rest of the menu.

I ordered their curry coat jerk, chicken, and a chicken patty and the taste of everything is just average. The best thing was the chicken patty the peas and rice with mushy and the curry didn't have much flavor nor did the jerk chicken so I would say it's just average there's nothing special about their seasoning. It really doesn't even taste like the Jamaican flavor. The restaurant was clean and the service was fantastic!

I ordered the curry goat. I had no intention of coming here. I was at the seafood market next door and the lady told me it would be 10 minutes so I decided to walk around and found this restaurant. I used to eat a lot of curry goat when I was in NYC. This place didn't disappoint me. The goat fell off the bone and it was pretty good. I also bought a bottle of Jamaican crème soda. I wish it was more spicy. Other than that two thumbs up. Service was good. Nice little restaurant.

    Jerk Rasta Pasta

The service here is really nice the staff is super nice. And the food is really good I loved the chicken patty it was like a curried chicken very good not spicy! The Rasta pasta was good a little underwhelming but still good!

And am I glad I followed my spirit in this one! When I pulled up I was greeted with fragrant scent of spice then the doors opens to deep aromas of jerk and curry! Bag was ready and piping hot! And I must tell you it was the longest 14.6 miles home ever with all those spices slapping me in the face! We ordered 2 Dinners and a side. Dinner one was Oxtails with gravy the second was Curry Chicken. Each dinner comes with rice and peas, a cabbage mix and plantains. Along with a side of jerk chicken. The oxtails were delicious. Be sure to ask for heavy gravy as that's kind of light (Wish I had asked for that on the Curry). The flavor was so deep I flew back to my island retreat in my mind!! I am know as the bland food eater so the curry and oxtails were at my spice max. I enjoyed the fullness of the spices and even appreciated the heat that came with it . I polished off the remaining rice and peas later in the evening (glad I ask for additional gravy) and I think the flavor may have been a bit better after settling at room temp, as I I was staring at the plate like why isn't there more!! I did bravely taste the jerk and it too was a very Carribean scent (although too spicy for me personally) the flyover was rich and chicken was moist so that a plus and my partner gobbled it up so tells me that the item was good. Tameka, you and your hubby need a store front restaurant , food truck or hell a cart to be tablet to serve the AV. Y'all owe it to yourselves, the AV. The community, heck to me! I explained exactly how I wanted it prepared, including all my little requests, and he delivered exactly what I asked for. The fish was seasoned just right, flavorful, and cooked beautifully. You can tell when a chef actually listens to the customer and this one did! The ackee and saltfish was another favorite. Well-seasoned, packed with flavor, and cooked just the way it should be. Add some rice and those sweet fried plantains, and that plate was definitely giving authentic Caribbean comfort food. If I'm not mistaken, I've tried almost everything on their menu, and I've never been disappointed not even once. I also loved the atmosphere. There's something about the music, the décor, the warmth, and the overall Caribbean feel of the place that makes you want to sit back, relax, and enjoy your meal. If you're looking for good Caribbean food, generous flavor, and a vibe that feels warm and familiar, Taste of the Caribbean is definitely worth checking out.

The atmosphere is usually chill, which is another reason I enjoyed coming here so often. The food is genuinely delicious. I've had the salmon, and I'm a big fan of the wings and the juices. I used to come here regularly, and I liked the place enough that I even chose them to cater an event for my job. I gave them a specific headcount and explained how much food we would need. They assured me that everything would be taken care of, so I trusted them and put a lot of hype behind the restaurant. Unfortunately, the catering experience was a major disappointment. Not only was our order late, but there was barely enough food for everyone. After being clear about the number of people attending and trusting their team to properly prepare for the event, it felt like they completely dropped the ball. I had recommended and hyped up this place, only for the experience to be subpar and for several things to go wrong. It honestly felt like they played in my face, especially after assuring me that everything was handled. I would have given this place five stars based on the food and my previous experiences, but that catering situation left such a sour taste in my mouth that I haven't returned in quite some time. Loyalty should mean something, and it's difficult to continue supporting a business when you don't feel respected or valued as a customer. The food is still delicious, and I truly enjoyed this place for a long time. But after that experience, I don't think I'll be coming back. I'm sorry, because I really wanted to continue supporting them.

Wanting to give them another chance, I ordered again this morning. I got the jerk chicken special with rice and peas and cabbage, expecting a fresh, flavorful meal. Sadly, the experience was very disappointing. The jerk chicken was extremely tough and dry, the rice and peas tasted old, and the cabbage appeared spoiled& had a terrible smell (not edible) I spit it right out my mouth. The entire meal was not fresh and was simply reheated in a microwave. I eat Jamaican food regularly, so I know what fresh Jamaican cuisine should taste like. I called the restaurant to address my concerns and hopefully find a resolution. Instead of listening or attempting to make things right, I was repeatedly told that the food was fresh. There was no effort to resolve the issue or acknowledge my experience as a customer. I don't normally leave negative reviews, but after two disappointing experiences in less than 24 hours, I felt it was important to share. Hopefully this helps others make an informed decision before ordering.

Stopped by this restaurant towards the end of the day on a a Saturday…read more Experience: since I'm not local, I called first to make sure they had oxtails and jerk chicken. The gentleman who answered, was dry and quick. Damn near hung the phone up in my face to get off the phone so fast. Upon arrival, said gentleman was sitting at one of the dining tables. It was empty inside of customers. I greeted him with an excited smile and he softened his disposition. Now, if you know Jamaicans, being fair I wasn't overly surprised at his stoicism and seriousness. The restaurant: There was only the remaining patties in the display case. Outside of that, a pretty empty place. Doesn't look like a bustling and meticulously decorated restaurant. It's cold and cafeteria like. There's no smell of deliciousness in the air and again nothing to see. No pictures of the food, nothing. Even the kitchen was so clean and closed down, it looks like the food is prepared elsewhere and brought in. Service: the gentleman wasn't rude. He just didn't offer any advise, ask any questions.. nothing. But as I was waiting on my plate, another young lady walked in. She called in as well and received the same dry and quick energy when she called. But when she walked into the establishment, clearly she's a regular. He lit up like a Xmas tree. She was such a pleasant and beautifully spirited woman, she gave her opinion of the gold (she said it was good). The food: Reminder, I was basically going off of the pictures on Yelp. My boyfriend talking about if the Mac n cheese looks good get him some. My response, I can't see a dang thing! The regular customer was surprised they had Mac n cheese (mind you). I ordered a large Oxtail plate. Wasn't asked about sides at all. Basically giving I'm getting what he's got. And I ordered a large jerk chicken plate. When the gentleman began bagging up my food, before he tied it up, when I saw him try and give me (1) small ahss thing of jerk sauce.. I had to stop him to look before he tied it up. Sure enough, chicken dry as hell. For dang near half a chicken with some dry rice and peas (1) jerk sauce?? At the price point of each plate (over $25) . I ask for more sauce, I said, if I bring this home to my boyfriend he's going to have a fit! He gave me one more. I insisted another and he was getting ready to deny it, but ok told him I'll pay for it. I said there's no way my BF is eating that dry. I was so caught up in making sure the jerk was right, I didn't peep everything else too deep. I bought (2) patties as well (beef). $70 to feed (2) with large plates and a patty. The Oxtails: small oxtails, a good portion. They were ok. Some pieces were a little tough and dry, let me know this was definitely the bottom of the pot. Had they had Mac n cheese (they were out) I would have opted for that over rice and peas. Only because most places don't do it right. Again, it's end of the day.. Both my plates definitely got the burnt bottom. My boyfriend had more of the crispy parts than I. But definitely dry and sitting. BUT not bad actually. I threw some of this Carribean hot sauce I have on it, turned it up. The oxtails: 6.5/10, The cabbage a total NO (0/10) . The beef patty: 9/10 (good ). The rice and peas: 6.5/10 The jerk chicken... as a disclaimer, Jamaica is my choice vacation spot, jerk being a staple upon visits. So my idea of what jerk should taste and look like is high. Do not expect your chicken to come to you already sauced. It's dry, like it's straight off the grill. The chicken was tender, and had a really good flavor. Without the jerk sauce. Now does it give me that taste the grills in Jamaica give the chicken. No. Being fair, it has a really good Smokey grill to it. IF you have your own jerk sauce use it. The sauce they provide the texture wasn't saucy more like applesauce texture. It wasn't spicy and just not jerkie. The jerk: 7.5/10 Last, I was irritated I didn't pay attention. The menu I could have swore said , festivals come with the plates. Instead we were given (1) plantain each. That had me hot. Overall: 6.5/10
