The food was fantastic here. I had the jerk chicken with rice and peas. I had the cabbage medley and mac and cheese. The jerk chicken was so tender and juicy. The mac and cheese and cabbage medley were also delicious. The lady that came out the back was so nice and gracious. The young lady who took my order didn't provide outstanding customer service. She gave basic straight to the point service. I love the vibrant look of the restaurant.

I have had this place a few times since I found out that it was open but today I decided to actually write a review. This is some of the best Jamaican food I have ever tasted in my life. I have physically never been in the building so I do not know how the ambience is, but I can most definitely speak on the food. I have tried the jerk pork, the jerk ribs, the jerk wings, and the oxtails I believe that everything that they offer is good just from having would I have had every time I order takeout, the service is just amazing in reference to my food being cooked well and the plates are always packed. Everything is so good if I only had one critique I would say please put more jerk sauce on the side lol because it is truly so good but outside of that I definitely recommend this place. You will most definitely get your moneys worth..

I tried Jamaican Homestyle Grill and the food really hit the spot. The oxtails were tender and flavorful, and the cabbage with peas and rice tasted just like a real home-cooked meal. I also had the jerk chicken pasta, a beef patty, plus their Tropical Rhythms drink Reggae Medley hit the spot.everything was seasoned well and full of flavor. The service was great, very welcoming, and the place was neat, clean, and satisfying. Portions were satisfying, and the menu has a good variety if you like authentic Jamaican dishes. If you're craving real island flavor, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. 100/100

Hands down one of the best, if not the "BEST" restaurants serving authentic and delicious Jamaican dishes. All of our food was hot, juicy, and very flavorful! I swear on everything that I will not be eating at any other establishment. The staff is friendly and provided awesome customer service to all patrons. No matter what you order your plate will be loaded! We had the Jerk Chicken with sides of cabbage and Mac&cheese (elbow noodles and not that spaghetti noodles mess with cheese sauce so many others be doing). Added a meat pie and cocoa bread! I also had the Oxtails plate with cabbage and plantains, as seen in my picture but I also got a Curry Goat plate to go. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. I will go back and take anybody visiting me to Jamaican Homestyle Grill only! Salute to the Owners and their amazing food.

Ten weeks ago, I left this company a good review because I really enjoyed their food so much that I decided to order again. However, after my second order, I left another review because the food was not good. It wasn't the same as the first time. The chicken was dry, suggesting it was baked, and it seemed like they ran out of gravy, so they gave me jerk chicken instead of the stew chicken I had ordered, with a side of jerk sauce. When I left the review, instead of the owner accepting the constructive criticism for what it was, she insisted that my review was fabricated and accused me of trying to tear her business down. I have no intention of ruining anyone's business; I am simply being completely honest about my experience. I recently ordered from them again, and the food was not good. It seemed like it had been sitting out for a long time, and there was no flavor at all in the meal. I also mentioned that there are other Jamaican restaurants in the city that make their food look and taste bad in comparison because it lacks flavor, and that's my honest opinion. Jamaican Jerk House makes your food look and taste like trash. You call yourself a Jamaican restaurant, but just like other Jamaican restaurants in NOLA, your food had no flavor. It's truly sad what I received the last few times I ordered from you all. Instead of taking these reviews as an attempt to belittle your restaurant, consider them as constructive criticism and do better, because I promise I am not the only one who feels this way.

Kenner has needed a Jamaican place and this is it! Service: was excellent. True Caribbean hospitality. Food: It's taken all my effort to write this because I need a nap. It's that good an filling. It's like you went to an auntie house and she was gonna make sure you didn't go hungry. Brown stew fish, curry goat, jerk ribs. Barbie wings, goat Rasta pasta....all of the food was just fantastic. Each plate was enough for two people. We have leftovers for tomorrow. This place is right past the airport over the bridge on the right coming from Williams blvd. Kenner has another hidden gem. On Airline. Note: all food is cooked to order. That fish was so tender the bones just pulled out like butter.

Time for a consistency review. Still very much a 10 out of 10. Service is always efficient and speedy. The ambiance is A+ local Jamaica yawd vibes (iykyk). One Love authentic. The food is outstanding in every possible way. Great quality and phenomenal flavor. The jerk chicken, curry chicken, stew chicken, curry goat, oxtail (no "s" if yuh Jamaican) are all A+. And you must start with a delicious spicy beef patty. This is just one of those restaurants where you can feel the love in the way the food is prepared. True Jamaican quality and standards with very reasonable portions for the prices. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful gem of a restaurant. Best J'can food in the area for sure. Came here on a Tuesday and they were out of the veggie patties, so I got a veggie plate with cabbage, Mac and cheese, and rice and peas. I noticed that the place was super clean and the young lady taking orders was a sweetheart. First taste of the cabbage sent my tastebuds into a dance party. The Mac and cheese had nice flavoring, but the rice and peas were simply ok. The music was everything! I was singing, vibing, and eating. Definitely will return! read more

I decided to try this place because of all the great reviews, however I was so sad the food wasn't what I thought it would be. I ordered through a delivery service and I will say the food was fresh and hot when it arrived. I ordered curry chicken with white rice and plantains. The plantains were delicious! Cabbage was ok too. But the curry chicken kind of disappointed me. Again it was definitely fresh but lacked seasoning. It was also really dry. It had more spice than anything but that was it. I ordered the large portion and they do give you a lot of food! But because I didn't care for what I ordered it unfortunately went to waste. I'm not going to give up on them yet. I'll just try something else next time. read more

I thought I was in Jamaica again!! This food was the best I have had since my trip to Jamaica years ago. I was immediately transported back to Montego Bay! The jerk chicken was excellent. The stewed chicken and rice was "slap your momma" good! The cabbage and coleslaw were "off the chain" good!!! We have tried Jamaican restaurants ALL over...Dallas, Houston, Atlanta...and NONE came close to this. We live in North Louisiana and plan on making a trip back just to eat at this restaurant. And people, it's spotless! Clean and comfortable!! And the staff is sooo friendly and helpful. A MUST TRY!! read more

Absolutely fantastic!! If you like flavor and spice, look no further baby! I ordered their large jerk chicken with mac and cheese and plantains. Let me tell ya folks, chef's kiss! Chicken was made perfect, perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Mac and cheese was creamy, extra cheesy and had a kick and those plantains were soft, sweet and cooked so amazingly. Came to deliver in St Rose, LA I'm a truck driver & decided to find a Caribbean food spot around, I am from the island of Trinidad and love good food. Anyways, I googled and found Jamaican Homestyle & went over ordered a jerk pork entree that came with rice & mash potatoes let me tell you, This is D BEST most flavorful soft perfectly cooked well seasoned jamaican food I've ever had in the past 8 years being a trucker on the road ,you can't go wrong.Its very rear I do reviews so this was definitely worth it. hopefully im in the area again & can grab a bite from this place. Food was really flavorful. I had the jerk pork. Rice and peas was cooked to perfection and moist. Mac and cheese were surprisingly really good. Most restaurants don't get that right. Service was friendly and helpful and I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. Prices are fair and food portion is very good. Ambiance is simple with good AC and music playing at a comfortable volume. read more

The food was good, fresh and filling. I ordered jerk chicken and my friend ordered oxtails. The oxtails wasn't the greatest but it was ok. Definitely needed more flavor. Chicken was pretty good. read more

Had the lunch jerk chicken with rice/peas and cabbage. The chicken was very tender and had a nice heat/spice to it. The bbq style sauce that came with it was great. Service was very fast at lunch. I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu. read more
