Wonderful jambalaya. We ordered a meal for 2 and it would feed 6. Absolutely delicious and lots of meat. Don't forget the banana pudding.

While having drinks we realized it was past our reservation time so we went up front to check on our table, and come to find out our table was ready (I believe they forgot about us, but no biggie). Our waiter was great and attentive. We ordered our favorite appetizer, oyster Pablo & it was just as good as always. I highly recommend! We ordered one of the specials, surf and turf which was an 8oz filet and lobster. It was cooked to perfection and was amazing. We had creamed spinach for a side, which is always great. Overall we had a great experience. 527 will remain a spot we frequent.

And my dinning companions really liked 2 of the fish dishes. The crab cakes and cheese grits appetizer was really nice, and the drinks were mixed to our liking. Our Server was friendly and helpful, always there when we needed her. Always with a smile. The location itself was comfortable and set a nice mood for our meal. The only thing I was unhappy with was the take away packing. The young man who packed my steak up literally folded my ribeye in half, to fit in a small container. I'd never seen this in my life (and hope to never see it again). Because of this, the liquid from the steak leaked onto the bottom of the paper bag our leftovers were put into. I was not pleased with this. I hope training will be provided for the people who pack take away containers in the future. This was the only bad part of our experience. I'd still highly recommend this location for a great meal.

My son got the boudin omelet which looked quite good and he enjoyed it. The most spectacular dish was what my husband ordered which was a special on the board--the soft-shell crab Benedict. Omg, that was amazing. I ordered the crab grilled cheese and I did not have high hopes but this surpassed my expectations. It was so overstuffed with blue crab meat and just a little cheese. It was out of this world! We will be back soon.

Inside you are greeted with large atrium ceilings maintaining a New Orleans tradition of high ceilings to deal with the hot air. Wood floors and wood tables with matching wood chairs accent this North Shore location along with high hanging planter boxes over the bar. Every window has a stained glass piece of artwork hanging in it. I ordered their Crab Cakes Benedict from the specials board with Home Fries. Grits are available too. The crab cakes on an English Muffin with the eggs on top was super delicious and very filling to get my day started off right. The home fries were thoroughly cooked; nice and soft. Their orange juice offers two choices, regular and fresh squeezed. Service was excellent! I received prompt, courteous and friendly attention throughout my stay from all of the staff. There is extra parking on the side and in the back.

As a child growing up in New Orleans I remember by grandfather from New Iberia coming to visit frequently. I have a lot of fond memories from his visits, but one of the things I remember is applicable to this review. Whenever he would arrive he would have several gifts for the family. I'm not talking about traditional gifts either. He would bring several packs of boudin and hogs head cheese from a local New Iberia shop. That must have had a lasting effect, because since then, I am on a never ending quest for good boudin and head cheese. I was on such a quest just the other day when I noticed Boudreaux's. The moment I walked in, I knew I was in the right place. There were coolers filled with stuffed chickens, roasts, pork loins, gumbo, étouffée and all other sorts of Cajun delights. In the fresh counter is where I focused my attention and will elaborate on a few items. Boudin - fresh, homemade and with the perfect combination of meat and rice. It had a slight kick, but not to overwhelming. Stuffed chicken thighs - stuffed with jalapeño cream cheese and wrapped in bacon. $375 for around 30 minutes covered and 20 uncovered. Oh my goodness gracious was this delicious. Even if you don't normally like thighs, I strongly recommend this item. Smoked boudin - I don't remember smoked boudin when I was growing up, but what a great idea. Boudreaux's version was perfect. Smoked sausage with pepper jack cheese - whatever you do, but some of this sausage. The sausage is made and smoked in house and this is, without a doubt, the best smoked sausage I've ever had. I don't know how it hod hold up in gumbo or some other dish, but it is amazing on its own. The people working behind the counter were friendly and very helpful. If you're like me and miss the Cajun butcher shops of Acadiana, I recommend you take a trip to Boudreaux's.

I was glad I found this spot on yelp, and I was more than happy to try it out. They have plenty of food to choose from, and it is kinda hard if you don't really know what to get. So I played it save with the smoked chicken thighs, and tried out the boudin sandwich. The chicken seemed thigh was so cheap I didn't believe it, for a pice that by itself filled me up. The Boudin sandwich was a good meal also by itself, you got to eat it fast though. I took my time, and it became a bit too soggy. I loved the experience though. The store looks like a big meat market, not too fancy, but this is a place to get your meat, and not for a romantic date. Maybe you do, when you're from Louisiana. j/k
