Well okay I am from the Caribbean I know about oxtails, rice and beans, plantains and more. I moved from California to Utah I was hoping to find a good Jamaican food or something close to it. I was happy to find this food truck but sadly, the guy only gave me like three oxtails and so much rice and beans for the price I pay was expecting something more. Now I am not knocking his hustle but the food could be better and more for your money. The service was fast and efficient as well, the variety of drinks was nice as well. But still sadly I am still searching for a good Caribbean food restaurant or truck in Utah. read more

In awe. Stunned. This holy food truck has been in the biz for years and I finally got to taste what the hype is all about. First of all, let's talk about the portion sizes because they pile it up here, and they do not mess around. The oxtail was so incredibly tender and flavorful and the spicy sauce that came with the French fries stole the show for me. I want a whole bottle of that sauce in my fridge. We enjoyed the curry goat plate. Loaded with lots of flavor and the sweet plantains took it to another level. So good! Their beef patties....hit the spot. Just like we remembered on our trip to Jamaica. Nice and flakey crust with generous filling. Tastes amazing! Gotta say, their hamburger is super delicious. Ever since I had the Jerk Chicken at a festival, I've been tracking this food truck down to see if it's near me. We specifically make plans the day before to eat from this food truck when it is. Maybe one day the amazing people behind this will recognize our faces, until then, you can expect us there when it's in SLC! Apparently I've been on a food truck kick recently. We had to drive out to Daybreak for this, but I am beyond thrilled we did. I've only had Jamaican one other time, and I didn't know if this would live up to that experience or not. Well, it exceeded those expectations. The music, smells, and employees were a lovely first impression. Then we got our food. It was piping hot and GORGEOUS. The burger is glazed in this incredibly flavorful barbecue sauce and is topped with the best coleslaw I have ever had. The slaw was crisp, and had balanced flavor; it wasn't too soggy or sweet like most are. The fries were seasoned really well, too. The juices were a bit pricey, but the flavors were great, and I would pay for it again. I can't wait to try more of their menu!! read more

Was so excited to see that Jamaica's Kitchen was coming to the Soho Food Park in Holladay today! After living in DC for many years and having access to some amazing jerk chicken, I wasn't sure what to expect, but their food is excellent and both of the men working were super friendly too! I had the jerk chicken, which came with rice and beans, a fried plantain and some cabbage, which looked like so much food, but I devoured it quickly after it was freshly prepared. The line at the food truck was moving fast, and they seemed to really be the busiest truck while I was at the park today. I will definitely be back, whenever I see this truck! Reasonable prices and tasty food! I only wish I had purchased some more so I would have some leftovers for tomorrow. read more

Amazing! Big portions, especially for the price. I got the jerk chicken and it came with Caribbean rice (with beans), cabbage salad, and a plantain. There was a ton of chicken. The skin is blackened beautifully and a little spicy (which I love), but if you want less spice, just don't eat the skin. I don't usually like plantains, but this one was sweet and well seasoned and so good. Also usually think Caribbean rice is bland. Not so here. It's not too flavorful either, though. Just the perfect balance to the chicken. Same with the cabbage. I will be back! read more

We need more Caribbean food here in Salt lake so I was really happy to see them at fisher (I believe they are there every Wednesday). The smells from the truck were amazing, and I could barely restrain myself from ordering before my friend arrived. I had the goat curry which came with some rice and red beans, coleslaw and a fried plantain. The goat curry was definitely good but not as spicy or flavorful as I was hoping, and wasn't quite the source of the smell my nose got me so excited about, so I left wishing I had tried the jerk chicken instead. Part of it is just my 'grass is greener' syndrome but I think I'll definitely have to return for that Jerk Chicken. read more

Omg! We ordered an oxtail plate with dumplings at the African Festival @ Liberty Park & let me tell you....the best oxtail I've ever had!!! It was fall off the bone...all the sides were delicious as well (fried plantains, coleslaw, red rice) and complimented the oxtail. Their plates of food have a couple things going for them. 1) the meat is packed full of flavor. There was a little bit of smoky flavor with a little kick of spicy and something else. Very good. 2) excellent portions of food. I only had it once and it was pretty solid. A little overpriced and I wouldn't go out of my way to have it again, but it was a pretty great lunch. read more

Was fiending for this one. Finally, got my taste. This one took me back to my Brooklyn Days. The rice and peas were perfectly cooked. The jerk chicken had a nice kick to them, wish I purchased a side order of them. The fried dumplings were so damn good, I went back for a second order. This really made me feel back at home in NYC during the West Indian Day parade and folks are out there cooking that goodness. Also, the sweet plantains were some of the best that I've had here. I loved this food truck. A friend and I were having a beer at Fisher Brewing, and this was the food offering for the night. Fisher always has great trucks, but this has to be one of my favorites. I love jerk chicken. I have had it in several different locations in the States and numerous times in Jamaica. I can't get enough of it. Being in Salt Lake doesn't make it easy to find good Jerk. I heard about this food truck several months ago but unfortunately haven't been nearby till today. I ordered the jerk chicken and the spicy fries. I was not disappointed in the least. It was very, very good. The jerk sauce was absolutely fantastic. It makes the entire dish and was also on the fries.
