Tradition continues at the original location of the now famous Jamba Juice. Founded as Juice Club, it has expanded, changed logos, and updated menus (so much desserty stuff now), but many of the old staples remain. I don't typically leave reviews for chains, but recent experiences here have led me to give it a go: What I really like about this location recently is the great service. I've always been an order-off-the-menu person, no substitutions, no special service, but a recent diagnosis has changed that... a lot. Staff here has been patient, provided access to their nutrition label folder, and helped me find ways to enjoy the treats that are helping build back strength while meeting my new restrictions. 2.5/5 - Drink Quality Came here on a Saturday Morning with my significant other. Not exactly knowing what we wanted and there wasn't a long line, so we took a little while. Anyways, while one girl was pleasant and nice, the other girl Rio woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I let it go for a second but, I thought about it and didn't like her unpleasantness. While waiting for our order (Protein PB, Fruity Rocks and 2 Baked goods )- everything turned out right, tasted well ,no complaints about that.. unfortunately the customer service from Rio was not great. She needs to smile a little bit more or don't come to work if she's having a bad day. But great work on the drinks! I kept trying to make out her name tag but I couldn't see it. Left the store and went to ask her name from the other employee, yet again she was real nice. So if you come to this location and want quality drinks, go for it! Believe it or not this is the original Jamba Juice! Nowadays it looks just like any other location (probably even smaller) and has the exact same menu. Jamba Juice has a wide array of smoothies ranging from healthy to indulgent. My favorite smoothie right now is a summer special - the watermelon breeze. It definitely isn't the healthiest of smoothies but it is so refreshing on hot summer days. If I feel like going for something that is filled with more fruit - I prefer the pomegranate paradise. The drink is pretty sour but refreshing. They have a bunch of smoothies with healthy veggies in them as well. And if you're feeling the need for a protein boost, they even have some protein shakes/smoothies. read more

This was the closest Jamba Juice to me when I use to live in SLO. Jamba is located on Foothill and Churro st. If you live by Cal Poly SLO, this would probably be the closest Jamba for you. Another location would be the one at Downtown SLO. Jamba gets crowded when the weather sucks because it's so warm you want something blended. During the weekdays, it's pretty quiet. On the weekends, as other usual place would be, packed like no other. They do have their secret menu, I'm sure some of you might already know what they are and if not... google has everything. Fave drink: Pink star! ( raspberry sorbet, yogurt, frozen strawberries, frozen raspberries) and a shot of daily vitamin? Yum! If you're not a jamba person and you're here with a friend ? This is the ORIGINAL Jamba Juice. Very cool to be in such a historic spot. I'm sure everything is standardized now so it's just like any other location now. There's a plaque outside stating that it's the original location, but otherwise inside just looks like any other Jamba location. I've been here a handful of times and it's all been what I've expected. I haven't had any bad experiences here, everything has gone without a hitch. For my usual order I'll either get the Caribbean Passion or the Mega Mango. The Caribbean Passion is one of the originals and I've always gravitated to it. The Mega Mango is one of their all-fruit ones. Both are delicious. I've also ordered the Sourdough Parmesan Pretzel which goes great with the tart-sweetness of the smoothies. Parking can be a bit tricky here if it's busy, there's a couple of spots right in front but that portion of the lot isn't all that big. In the beginning there was just one... The original location... home of the Juice Club and it's mascot 'J.C. Smoothie.' Fresh squeezed from the minds of Cal Poly students. Jamba Juice is one of my two known 'nectars of the gods.' It just doesn't get any better than this. (Unless you go to one of the other 500+ locations, that is.) The original jamaba juice! Great service and they even offer samples! Right out the window you can even see the building where the jamaba founders once worked and lived in. I wish this juice had less sugar but also its extremely addicting. This location is sort of small so there arent many places to wait for your juice. The smell is the classic fruity summer aroma. For a place that's pretty small, I'm surprised that they work really well with 6 people behind the counter. I'd personally be bumping into everything/everyone around me. The service was very quick and very friendly. There were some things that I don't see on the menu anymore but they were still able to make it (names have changed too, like for the coldbuster). As for the place, there's not much room but the space seems to be used efficiently as there are no problems with customers being confused or bumping into each other. I had the Peach Pleasure and an Orange Dream Machine, both were very refreshing but the Peach Pleasure wasn't as sweet as I am use to. Sometimes the original is still the best. That is the case with this Jamba Juice. We have frequented many Jamba Juice's over the years, but this one is our favorite. They always know us, and start working on our order right away. I would highly recommend trying the pink starburst. My son loves berry upbeat and my husband always s get açaí. Every time they are made perfectly. They even know our children's names and are always friendly. Sometimes you go into a place and the customer service makes you feel like your order would just be a little more work for them, so it's really nice to get great service and a good product. One time, on opening night of a college play, my friend Diana and I escaped from backstage and drove to Jamba Juice. Our goal was to chug our drinks really fast (avoiding brain freeze) and make it back to the play before the stage manager yelled "places everybody!" Unfortunately, my smoothie cup floweth over and red liquid was pouring down the side. Since my friend was cruising down the highway and didn't have napkins in her glovebox, I rolled down the passenger window to let the wind whisk the juice droplets away and dry my styrofoam cup. That was the goal. Good to know that when you stick a styrofoam cup out the window while driving 50 miles per hour, the cup will whip out of your hand and spray power-sized Razzmatazz all over the side of your friend's car. Also good to know, that when your pissed friend drives into the unpaved lot in a huff, the dirt will stick to the Razzmatazzed back panel/window. We didn't have time to clean it up, and after the play, we came out to find a swarm of flies and a very unhappy Geo Prism. Jamba Juice was the brainchild of some smart Cal Poly students. Rather like visiting the original Starbucks in Seattle, it's somewhat anticlimactic to venture to the original Jamba Juice in San Luis Obispo. It used to be a Juice Club, and you can easily discern why the concept caught on with the lovely students at Cal Poly SLO. I walked in expecting to see something a bit significant as it's a very lovely chain now, but I see that it's basically, like any other JJ franchise. That being said, like most JJ's it will offer you friendly service, healthy options, and delicious flavour. I was just...I dunno, expecting a bit more.....to-do about the whole damn thing. read more

This Jamba is on par with other Jamba's I have visited. It's in a prime location and so it seems like it's always busy. My husband and I waited about 10 minutes for our smoothies on a Monday afternoon. But the employees are busting ass to get them out to you ASAP, so you can't really complain about the wait. I don't know if the whole "First Jamba Juice ever" thing got in my head when we got Jamba here, but I swear that the Jamba tasted different from all the other Jamba's we've been to. They were constantly washing EVERYTHING, not just the blenders! The place is pretty poppin' though, with a good number of people in line when we went in. I've been going to this jamba since June of 2020 and I've had no complaints thus far. The staff is incredibly friendly, I get my drink in 2-5 mins, and it always tastes fantastic! Even on its busiest days during the summer when its line was out the door with a 15-20 minute wait, the staff here always seemed to have an upbeat attitude and thanking guests for waiting even though they were under pressure from the summer rush. Came here twice during my weekend trip to SLO and so happy I stopped here! Fun Fact - this is the first Jamba Juice store ever opened! How historic, but the location is fairly small. The menu has been updated since I first started going to Jamba Juice years ago so when I ordered I didn't see the item that I would've normally gotten. I opted for a Strawberry Whirl (thinking it was my normal order and realizing later I usually get the Banana Berry) and it was both delicious and thirst quenching for such a hot day! I got a smoothie that was a little too tart for me. I was apprehensive about taking it back to the store but I wasn't going to drink it and I wanted another one to replace it so I brought it with me and told them. They were really really nice they actually apologized that it happened and offered to make me any kind of smoothie I wanted. I was very impressed with how friendly they were, when you think about it natural fruits and juices will vary in flavor it wasn't their fault that it was tart it just was. They made me a new smoothie and a customer for life. So few places are able to hire really good staff to navigate these occasional problems well, they are doing something right at this store. read more

I'll start by saying we've never had an issue at any other Jamba J. before this visit to the Foothill store. We have been Jamba fans since the mid 90's. Last month, my wife and I were in SLO for a medical certification course and we stopped by for a quick juice. She changed her mind. I had a juice and within 30 mins my insides liquified. I hadn't had any other food or beverages other than bottled water earlier that morning. Issues cleared up within hours. My wife is a nurse and said I should call. I sent emails instead, and after ZERO contact back, called. I wanted to speak with a manager, so, I had to call back in a day or two. At that time, I was told I would receive a refund or a juice card in the mail. After another three weeks, I called back, this time receiving an attitude over the phone claiming that the issue was absolutely me and had nothing to do with the food/beverage sold to me. Not the appropriate response or treatment from Corporate, Owner, Manager, or Phone person. I have never been rude, disrespectful, or aggressive in any of my correspondence. My wife averaged we've spent about $25 weekly at Jamba locations since the mid 90's. No more... Sadly, We're done. You've lost customers over this one. We hope you never do that to anyone else, but we're not going to hold our breath. read more
