Flatbread choices
Eric F.

Food: 4.25. Came by on a Wednesday just after 2 pm. I never thought of coming to this place because of the name. I thought this was a vegetarian restaurant but they had flatbread with pepperoni and chicken sandwiches. Place had only a few customers at the time. There is inside and outside seating. Ordering is done at the counter and a numbered sign is given to you to place on your table. I ordered one of their flatbreads (Flatbread 2 - $17). Water is self serve. We sat outside Food was delivered timely, at the right temperature and looked appealing. Flatbread crust was slightly crispy and the overall flavor was very good. Staff was helpful but not necessarily friendly I like this place and will come back

I really loved the Croissant 1 breakfast sandwich! We also shared the Açaí bowl and that was tasty as well. Coffee was fantastic. Everything was delicious. friendly and attentive staff. I would go here every day if it was in my neighborhood in Santa Monica.

Breakfast/brunch place downtown SLO in an alley just off Higuera Street with indoor and outdoor seating. Order at the counter and then place your number on a table and food comes out to you. Great selection - açaí bowl was perfect size. Avocado toast had a generous portion of sprouts. Panini was good, could have been toasted a little more. Seating options inside or outside with plenty of umbrellas and shade. We went on a Saturday late morning and they had a DJ playing music that was so loud we couldn't hold a conversation inside. Was a little better outside but still too loud. It was Family Weekend for Cal Poly so maybe that was why they had the DJ. Probably will go back the next time we are here.

Great coffee and the on point Açaí bowls. Love the healthy toppings!

Loved this little place for a great/quick/healthy breakfast! They have toasts, salads, Açaí bowls and breakfast sandwiches. We had the açaí bowls which were very big and very fresh with healthy ingredients! Service was great. Coffee was great and they have tons of options. Order at the counter then sit inside or outside. Cute downtown area with fun shopping nearby. Prices were low for the high quality ingredients

This place was awesome! Best breakfast I had in CA! I absolutely loved the variety of the menu and all of the amazing healthy options offered. Also, the staff here were so friendly and some of the most kind people I encountered on my trip. I had the Acai Bowl number 4 and it was phenomenal. I loved the options they had because they had different ingredients blended in the base. Mine had peanut butter, Pitaya, and more, and it was amazing. Their coffee is also good and has such a unique flavor. Can't recommend this enough!

Always amazing food and amazing customer service, workers always have a smile on their face and are always very polite if you have any questions or concerns. I love being able to order from the kiosk or ordering from the front counter if there is a long line, and so you're able to view all of the different options that they have. Food has always been amazing even when it is busy, and always come out in a timely manner. Also while being a little pricy it is reasonable for the quality of food with all fresh ingredients etc

If you haven't been to Seeds yet, fix that immediately. From the moment you walk in, the space feels effortlessly cool but still cozy -- the kind of place where you can linger over coffee and pretend you don't have responsibilities. But let's talk about the food, because that's the real headline. The smoked salmon toast? Unreal. Perfectly toasted bread with that ideal crunch, layered with silky smoked salmon and fresh, bright toppings that made every bite balanced and flavorful. It felt elevated but not fussy -- just done really, really well. The açai bowl (add peanut butter -- trust me) was next-level. Thick, perfectly chilled açai topped with fresh fruit, and that peanut butter addition made it creamy, rich, and borderline addictive. It was one of those bowls where you slow down because you don't want it to end. And the toasted marshmallow latte? Delectable doesn't even begin to cover it. Smooth espresso with a subtle sweetness and that toasted marshmallow flavor that tastes like a cozy campfire in a cup -- but sophisticated. Not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced. Seeds absolutely nailed it -- amazing food, standout drinks, and a vibe that makes you want to come back the next morning. 10/10, already planning my return.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting SLO and I'm glad I did! This is a great little spot with a clean, healthy menu. They offer Toasts, Paninis, Health Bowls, and a few other options. I ordered Toast 1 with a side salad. It was a light, healthy choice with great flavor -- I'd definitely get it again. Overall: friendly service, relaxed vibe, and clean. If you're in SLO and looking for a healthy meal, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Came here for lunch with my parents. It's a fast casual place where you order at the counter, find a seat, and then they bring you your food. There is outdoor and indoor seating, and the service was good. The sandwich was good, but a bit pricey for what you get. The flatbread was excellent and more worth the price imo than the sandwich.

This place has a cute outdoor seating area and their menu offers tons of light and healthy breakfast/brunch. I really enjoyed the smoothies #5 (contains coconut water, pitaya, strawberry, coconut banana... etc). It's light and not too thick in consistency for a smoothie.

Really delicious brunch spot. The restaurant itself is super open & airy, plus the decor is beautiful. I love, love, love their toast selections & the rest of their menu looks delicious too. Plus, they have a really fun mimosa menu! This is always a must stop when I'm in SLO.

I ordered two flatbreads, generous portions, served hot and fresh, and absolutely delicious. The acai bowl was a bit basic and not very sweet; minimal honey and granola left it feeling more like pure açaí than a balanced bowl. The matcha latte followed the same theme, not too sweet, but really smooth and refreshing. Ordering was a breeze with the self-serve kiosks, and the open indoor-outdoor setup gives off relaxed SLO vibes, perfect for a sunny breakfast or casual lunch. Would definitely come back for the flatbreads alone!

Croissant 1
Justine D.

Everything was pretty darn good here... but the croissant sandwich was exceptional! We got the number 1 and it was so flaky and flavorful without being greasy. There was an abundance of seating. They had the garage door open so it was super chilly. The açaí bowl wasn't bad... a little too much ice and not as much flavor as others that I've had... but not bad.

Flatbread 3 - it was delicious!

Do they open up a waitlist on yelp since they don’t take reservations?

It's counter service. No need for reservations.

Is the bread vegan?

The prairie bread and 9 grain both have honey- we usually recommend these as the closest thing to vegan options but ALL bread come with honey. I hope this helps!

It just so happens that my brother in law told me to stop in San Luis Obispo during my pacific coast highway roadtrip, told me it was a really cute area he thought I would love. Little did he know at the time, there is a coffee shop, the BEST coffee shop in San Luis Obispo that's called Scout coffee and Scout is the name of my brother in law's daughter AKA my niece so this was fate. Fate I tell you. I came here later in the day on Saturday right before closing, the shop is just adorable, really sweet tables outside on the street and some seating inside as well. They had some delicious looking pastries in the window and they had merch. Yes I came for the coffee, sure but I came for the Scout merch for my niece when she grows up and wants to drink coffee out of a mug and thinks it's just the coolest thing that her Aunt went to California for the sole purpose of buying her this mug, or something like that. They had mugs alright, $18 a pop. They had some t-shirts too that were PRICEY and sweatshirts that were even pricier. It was a bummer because they didn't have a lot of size options and when I asked the staff if they had more in the back they were not the friendliest bunch. Anyways, got two Scout coffee mugs and a Scout coffee travel sticker and of course a coffee. It was late so I had a decaf americano and went on my way. I came back the next morning for a regular drip coffee and the place was busy! This time, the guy helping me behind the counter was an absolute sweetheart. We made some small talk and it put a better taste in my mouth from my experience with the staff the day before. They don't use sleeves here and I LOVE THAT. I hate sleeves on coffee cups I really and truly do. They tied a napkin around instead and I've never seen that before. The coffee was delish, love the name of the shop, love the merchandise.

Friendly staff, efficient in how you order and receive your drink and yes...they are busy and it takes a tad of waiting for your order. Dog friendly patio out front.

If I lived here, this would be my GO TO spot for ALL my coffee needs. The space is thoughtfully designed with many furniture pieces from repurposed goods. It is spacious with a light, bright airy feel. All the "baristas" were so welcoming and friendly. They seemed to enjoy their job and their coworkers. They set off a very cohesive vibe. I wish I could have spent the morning just being there but had to leave for a funeral. So many things caught our eye! The baked goods were devine. The T-shirts were super soft and I would have bought one of they had our sizes. The roasted coffee beans were priced fairly. I haven't even gotten to the coffee yet! There were so many iced coffee/cold brew options it was really hard to choose. We ended up selecting the Lemon Pistachio shortbread cookie, a Ginger Molasses cookie, a seasonal scone: Honey Cinnamon, an iced Latte and an iced Vanilla Bean Latte: 1/2 sweet and a bag of Classic Espresso beans. My only sadness was I should have gotten a large latte instead of a regular. We saved the desserts for after the funeral and enjoyed the yummy coffees on our way. The Ginger Molasses cookie was perfect. Moist and chewy and not too much ginger. I should have bought more! The Lemon Pistachio cookie had a lovely balance of lemon zest and fine pieces of pistachio in the cookie and a not too tart lemon glaze and pieces of pistachio on top. It wasn't dry or super dense either. Someone making these is an experienced baker! The Honey Cinnamon scone was the best scone we have ever had. It was messy but so worth it. It has more of a restaurant/club vibe than a coffee shop which gives it a special charm. But, it's not a house brew, it's basic Third Street Chai you buy off the shelf at the local grocer, chef supply, or natural foods store :( To their credit, they heat it up well and top it with a fancy cinnamon design on the milk foam. When asked if there is a local chai, the barista (who is a chai fan) couldn't think of any. This explains why the local reviews were so good for mediocre concentrate. When they were done, both were "heavy" meaning they felt like there was no foam. I checked and yup...no foam. I mentioned it to the barista who said "no problem. I'll do them over". They were done quickly, but still felt "heavy". I didn't want to go back and figured "it's just me". I got into my car and tried one. It was 90% the same as before. She simply scraped a sliver of the drink off the top and added a touch of foam. Plus...the liquid was "thin" meaning she nearly scalded the drink to get it hot. The 2nd chai was the same way. Everyone at the Nautical Bean is friendly and the vibe is great, but next time I'll take my own advice...even if that means going back to the barista twice to get things right.
