Hot Mocha

Staying at the Springhill Suits right next door to the SLO Ranch, this place was a needed coffee spot. Hotel coffee sucks. We all know this. Haha. Lucys Coffee was excellent every morning and my wifes name is Lucy, so it made it even better! Scones were very good too!

Delicious coffee and a cute spot to visit. Quick service and happy people! I got the cinnamon brown sugar latte. Not too sweet.

Latte with flower art.

Delicious latte with art served with a smile. This coffee shop is so cute and there's a lovely area outside to chill.

Kids hot chocolate :D

The service is fast, reliable and quick, perfect for on-the-go runs. Also, it's quiet with faint background music which improves the vibe of Lucy's. Finally, the food is great! For example, a kids hot chocolate has a decent amount, but I personally love how much time they put into JUST a hot chocolate. The actual liquid is not an overwhelming hot but rather a comforting lukewarm. Additionally, the marshmallows are lightly charred to add more depth, which I just appreciate! I look forward to coming to this awesome cozy place in the future! -Nancy

Cute coffee shop located in SLO Ranch. Walking distance from Marriott Residence Inn and Springhill Suites. All the coffee, tea and chai choices you want as well as pastries and "toast". The peanut butter honey toast on sourdough hit the spot. Seating both indoor and outside. Recommend!

Such a neat place with good coffee and pastries. I tried the pumpkin latte with oatmilk and their pumpkin loaf was thick and not too sweet. Great customer service too!

Nice coffee spot located in the middle of a wonderful shopping area in SLO. This is a nice place to grab a coffee while you walk around with family and friends.

I wanted to update my review because I ended up going to Lucy's three days in a row! We wanted a light breakfast one day and ordered their avocado and goat cheese toast. Both were delicious! Coffee was great every day.

Peanut butter smoothie

My husband got this "peanut butter smoothie". He's a huge peanut butter fan while I just like it sometimes. We both died this and agree it's not strong enough, tastes like milk. The smoothie tastes more of almond milk and date than peanut butter. We'd say less than half closer to 30% I think there was banana in it too. We wouldn't get this again the title is not the star of the show. Still it's 85f out so we're going to finish it but it's just okay. We were greeted right away even though it was a little busy inside, that was nice.

My wife and I went to this lovely Lucy's coffee. I had a delicious latte and she had some tea. Everyone was very friendly. We sat outside where there were picnic tables. It was a beautiful day. Thank you for the wonderful latte. I will be back on my way through again.

Delicious coffee that stands up well to milk. Ordered a cortado, and it was really well textured. Perfect combo of milk and espresso. Service was friendly and helpful. They pre ground some beans for me. Ambiance is great. Patio is a nice option and the interior is pretty chill if you need to get work done or focus

San Luis Ranch

I was looking for salads at the new San Luis Ranch Market, but they were closed for seasonal remodeling..so I spotted Lucy's and thought that a bagel might do, since this was breakfast/lunch time. The place is new and spotless, with a few tables for studying. I was warmly greeted, and immediately spotted an Avocado Toast option which would fill the bill for a meal. They nicely took my name, while I wandered around taking photos. I do think they need more study tables, or even tables inside, since I had to keep placing my beverage on occupied spaces while I took photos. I did discover an outdoor table with a great umbrella, and there are lots of other outdoor tables and lounge spaces to enjoy your beverage. The Avocado toast on French bread was fresh and perky, with tomatoes on top and black pepper. I might like a bit of variety in the seasoning, and the avos smashed down more, but it tasted great!

My fiance & I were in town for a wedding and we wanted to explore local coffee shops. Lucy's was conveniently 5 minutes away from our hotel. I got the iced latte & my fiance got their hot latte multiple days in a row & it was perfectly made each time!

I opted to do a trio with the bahn mi, tip o' Argentina, and the garlic fries. The food was good I forgot to take a picture! The tip o' Argentina was solid with the garlic aioli and the chimmichurri perfectly complimenting the steak and the lettuce and tomato adding a little bit of freshness. The buns they use for all of their sliders are soft, slightly sweet, and don't fall apart while you're eating. The Bahn Mi was even better. I love pork but was a little skeptical about pulled pork on a slider riffing on the flavors of a bahn mi. To my surprise and delight, it tasted just like grilled Vietnamese pork, which was perfectly complimented by the fresh and pickled veggies and surprisingly hot jalapeño. Finally, I got the garlic fries which were a massive portion, crisp, and very garlicky. Everything was good and with such a large and customizable menu, I'd definitely return if I was in the area again. I also want to give a shout out to the bartender, Kelsey. I sat at the bar and her service was attentive and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. We got the opportunity to chat for a bit and I loved her vibe, so definitely consider sitting at the bar if you're dining solo or with a friend.

Service was great, parking was easy (once we found the place - our GPS had us go to a different parking lot first), and the food tasted good. Would love to go again, would seek it out if I'm in town again.

And it's not just my opinion as they were recently recognized in SLO Times. With a new menu monthly--offering locally sourced ingredients--everything is always a win! They're so good that it's just one of those dishes that you wished stayed on the menu permanently. They have something for everyone and I recommend everything here!!! Shared some of the homemade scones and had an avocado toast with a latte and really enjoyed it! They have free coffee refills (not specialty drinks) which is an added bonus. But overall, enjoyed it and would come back on occasion.

A number of venues are here, so drop by, at least for a walk-around. Large kitchen in what would have been an outbuilding, we joined a few other people to make our order. The genuine friendliness from everyone was nice. And the menu was wonderfully different from any other breakfast/lunch place you have been to before. Very cleaver mix of Mexican and traditional entrees, along with a full scale coffee bar that would compete well against any of the commercial brew houses around. KV Lemon Poppyseed Waffle ($15) with real maple syrup, Carnitas Scramble ($16) bowl with three eggs, salsa and feta, Bonetti Bowl ($17) of potato hash and sausage saute topped with 2 eggs, bacon strips, and chipotle aioli and, Biscuits & Gravy ($14) topped with country sausage gravy, 2 over medium eggs and two bacon. Getting the idea? Wife loves lemons and her love was reinforced with the waffle and I just loved the biscuits and gravy, with the sausage dominant. Both breakfasts were loaded with flavor and the freshly brewed coffees topped it all off. We ate inside, as it was chilly outdoors, but there are tables outside on a patio and deck. We will seek Kitchen and Vine out for a return meal and our guess is that the lunches will be just as good as their friendly service. Yum.

I placed my order on the kiosk, which I found very easy to use. I ordered Smoothie 5 and Panini 6. This came out to $36.97. For the smoothie, I subbed out strawberries (because I'm allergic) and added bananas. I found that to be a really great option that they have at no extra charge. For the panini, I didn't realize they had half and full orders until I got up to the kiosk. I opted for the full order, and then realized once I sat down that I probably would have been better off with the half option. My smoothie arrived at the table at 11:49, whereas my panini arrived at 11:53, so the wait in total was about 15 minutes which is not bad at all for how busy it was. My friends ordered the Greens 5 with prosciutto, Toast 4, Bowl 1, Bowl 6, and everyone agreed that we would definitely come back. One thing that was funny to us is that we felt like the photos on the menu looked smaller than the portions that actually arrived. My friend ordered the Greens and a Bowl thinking it would be small, and she realized very quickly that she was going to need a takeout box for her salad. (This is a good problem to have, rather than the other way around!). The service was also top notch. Even though I ordered on the kiosk, I was still able to interact with the employees, as they frequently came around to ask if they could clear off plates from our table. I also went up to the front to ask for a box, and she kindly directed me to where the boxes were located that I could just grab. Next time, I would definitely mentally prepare myself for how busy it is, but for the quality of ingredients, and the portion size, I think it is great and would definitely come back.

A phenomenal California Burrito…read more There's dozens of dozens of dining options in downtown SLO. I looked at various menus and online reviews. Every item seemed to be priced 25-50% more than I wanted to spend. Walked past Kreuzberg and initially thought it was only coffee and pastries. The whole layout is immaculate. Outdoor seating, indoor group seating and even a few private seats in the corner that give it a VIP ambiance. Hidden inside was a narrow lounge area with turntables with a bar area at the end. A DJ was set to start at 8pm. The music genre schedule varies. I will return. The burrito was top tier. Side of chips added to the filling satisfaction. Only downside was the price but if you add the quality service, cleanliness, vibe and atmosphere...the value is there.

It was past 7pm and the place was still hoppin' with groups on the outdoor patio, back room lounge and main area. It has more of a restaurant/club vibe than a coffee shop which gives it a special charm. When asked about their chai the friendly barista was happy to share that they don't use dry powder, they use a spicy concentrate. That's one plus!! But, it's not a house brew, it's basic Third Street Chai you buy off the shelf at the local grocer, chef supply, or natural foods store :( To their credit, they heat it up well and top it with a fancy cinnamon design on the milk foam. When asked if there is a local chai, the barista (who is a chai fan) couldn't think of any. This explains why the local reviews were so good for mediocre concentrate. While the chai quest was a miss here in SLO, Kreuzberg is still a pretty cool spot, with a fun, social vibe, friendly, helpful staff, and some tasty looking items on their menu (just not a stop for chai).

Cool looking restaurant with really good service. Dined here both night I was in SLO. Got the burger and fries the first night and it was great. Fries were crispy and well seasoned. Also got the olive oil cake that night but that didn't hit the mark. It was very dense and dry but I didn't say anything as I was too full to try anything different. On to the second night, I got the tri-tip and subbed the potatoes for sweet potato purée. I have to say, the sweet potatoes and slaw were amazing. The tri-tip on the other hand was lackluster. It was tough, rubbery, hard to cut and chew. The server was amazing and swapped that out for the burger which again was great. I finished with the cheesecake which was also good, way better than the first night's dessert. Note to self, don't get the tri-tip or olive oil cake... Lastly, also have eaten breakfast here two separate times during two separate stays and it was also great.

My first impression of The Oak Grill was a bit odd. If you look at the photos of this restaurant,…read moreyou'll see a giant multi-tiered full bar. I saw several beautiful drinks on Yelp when I chose The Oak Grill. I walked in, the restaurant is polished and pretty, with the bar an obvious focal point. The server, Chloe, at the door waited for me to speak first, which is awkward to begin with, and I had to verbalize that I wanted breakfast. I mean... why else would I be walking into your restaurant? She explained I order there at the front counter and the food would be brought out to me. That's fine. I asked if they have mimosas and she looked at me and goes, "Mimosas?" Um, yes. Mimosas. She said "Yeah, technically, but it's up to the person working up here if they *want* to make you a drink or not. I mean, technically I'm not a bartender." I seriously almost just walked out based on that answer. You have a full bar, you serve alcohol, but only if the cashier wants to make you a drink? Is the rest of the menu also based on the cashier's discretion? Are you capable of pouring champagne and a splash of orange juice into a glass? There are 5 employees milling about, and none of them are bartenders? So... I'm not impressed by the service here and based on that alone I won't be back. I'm just gonna drink this mimosa, wait for my chilaquiles, ask for a box and bounce. I'm irritated I just paid $50 (yes, $50 for chicken chilaquiles and one begrudgingly made mimosa cost me $50) to feel like I inconvenienced them coming in. I didn't ask for a side order of apathy with my breakfast, and for that price, I'm sure I can find an actual bartender.
