I ordered the Caveman but had them hold the blueberries and chia seeds because I'm allergic to those ingredients. The bowl was delicious. I came here with my gf and goddaughter for lunch. The customer service was great. The location was clean and with plenty of seating. The menu was good, but they were out of some ingredients. Definitely the best spot for acai in SLO. I love that this place offers pure acai sorbet and has chia pudding. Great açaí bowls and very accommodating staff! I got one of the pre made bowls and asked to swap some toppings and add extra almond butter. They were more than happy to help me and allowed me to put granola on the side as well. The fruit was all very fresh and crisp, fairly priced for what you get, and the açaí was also quite smooth rather than icy. Got a small acai bowl. Tasted okay, expensive but it's SLO! Halfway into the bowl, I found a strand of hair. I asked for a lid and left. They do not have change. If you pay with cash they will not give you change. You will end up paying more. They refuse to carry change and refuse to change the prices to an even amount. This acai place is actually located inside the big box gym. So it is very convenient for if you want a post-workout snack and you are a member of the gym. I am not a member, but I do sometimes comes here when I am in the mood for an acai bowl. They have quite a bit of variety and every bowl that I have gotten here has been fresh and tasty. The only downside of this place is that the service can take quite some time. If there are a few customers in front of you, expect to wait at least 15 minutes for your acai bowl. They also do serve protein shakes and smoothies, so if you are more in the mood for a beverage type item, they have you covered too! [3.5 stars] Our team decided to come to the plaza during a break in our water polo tournament to go to Lassen's a couple stores down. I wanted to explore the plaza and came across this place. Being from San Francisco, there are a lot of good places to go to for acai bowls. I've lived in Sacramento for the past year and have not had an acai bowl in a long time. So when I found this place, I didn't give it a second thought to buying one from here. It's a curious little spot as it's right underneath a gym. The people working there were very friendly and answered all of my questions with a smile. They said that their most popular was the "I like it SLO" bowl. I took their recommendation and got that in a small. The base blend was organic acai, bananas, strawberries, and juice. The toppings included organic granola, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, toasted coconut, chia seeds, and honey. The presentation was so beautiful and it tasted pretty good. Every single piece of fruit was sweet. The toasted coconut gave an added crunch along with the granola. For $7.99, it is much pricer than the bay area prices for an acai bowl. But seeing as the fruit is organic, I can see why it's on the pricier side. The reason for taking 1.5 away from the rating is because I was the only one there when I ordered and it took a while to receive my bowl (about 10 minutes). In addition, it looked like the ingredients weren't blending very well together. When I was eating my bowl, there were several chunks of acai that were not blended. I felt at a few chunks in my mouth but only saved two (refer to my picture). Also, when I asked for a lid, they didn't have an actual lid. They had a white froyo cup to place over the bowl. It was very smart to put a use for the froyo cup, but it wasn't a lid. Aside from those things, I will probably be back in the spring when our team comes down for a swim meet. read more

I've come here so many times, and each time I'm so impressed with the bowls. This is probably my favorite acai bowl place in SLO; I'm from the bay area and the bowls I get at places there pale in comparison to the bowls here. I always get the Kahuna; which I love because it has tropical fruit (mango, pineapple, toasted coconut) plus kiwi, strawberries, and banana which are all my favorite fruits, so its a good time. Acai project has been my go to after trying so many of the other local options. Their ingredients are always fresh and tasty, along with relatively reasonable prices for the portion and freshness. The combos are yummy and I like that they offer gogi berries and bee pollen because some places dont. I also recommend chia seeds! My problem is every time I go they always forget ONE ingredient in the bowl I order. Today I wanted the mustang but they couldn't do that, then they said they were out of smoothies and the fit bowl so I ordered the Pirate's cove. They were out of cashew butter AND frozen banana too. They forgot the kiwi on my bowl and last week they forgot my granola after I waited 15 minutes for my bowl :( read more

This is the best Acai bowl spot in the county. Acai bowls are not supposed to be runny soup bowls, that's what all the other places do. There were 2 people working and because each one of their acai bases are different, we waited for 20 minutes for a small bowl. space: There is an outside seating area for a few double tables as well as seats inside. Since it is part of the gym many of the orders are to-go. Each table has a plant and every wooden table has the logo carved out (which was pretty cute). service: Slow. If you are on the go, this place is not for you. price: They have two sizes and each size is a different price. I got a small and it was $7.99 whereas large bowls are $9.99. items: I have attached the menu below. They have really unique toppings. my food: I got the Kahuna bowl (will have photos attached) and personally was not a big fan of the granola or base. The acai bowls here are absolutely delightful. They are packed full of flavor and are super filling. The acai base is thick and creamy and the toppings are a great mix of fresh fruit, nuts, and granola. Everything is so well-balanced and the overall taste is amazing. However, depending on when you come the wait can be brutal. I brought a friend from out of town here, and we had to wait for over 20 minutes despite being the only people there. Came here randomly as a pit stop and I read the reviews about the service and was a bit hesitant but honestly the girls that helped my boyfriend and I were so sweet! One girl mentioned she was from Brazil and the other from Colorado and they gave us so many places to visit on our way to San Francisco so I appreciated their kindness! Oh yeah.. the food!
