The Big Easy: jambalaya, dirty rice, corn maque choux, and red beans. (spoon for scale)

Sooo delicious and friendly service!!! I look forward to whenever they come to my office. In fact, I went into the office today just because they were gonna be there. I always get The Big Easy which has dirty rice, jambalaya, red beans, and corn maque choux. It's a great sampling of all four yummy items, and bonus, it's a large meal so can definitely get two meals out of it. All are super tasty with a smidge of spice but not too much. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a super tasty, filling meal. Definitely worth seeking them out!

This truck came to our building. After seeing what was on the menu plus the good reviews on Yelp, we were eager to try their food. Once again, we arrived when they opened for business and were the first customers. The lone man working the truck was very friendly. As we looked over the menu posted on the side of the truck (to make sure there were no changes since we first saw it online) he said "Cajun food". To which we said "Yes!" We ordered shrimp etouffee and dirty rice. After we brought it all upstairs and dug into it, my husband started raving about the etouffee. He said it was a 5 star dish. While I liked the dirty rice, it was on the dry side and I thought they were a bit heavy handed with the spice making it almost take over the dish. Yes, I know Cajun food is spicy but personally, I would have preferred if it was toned down a bit. We had some leftovers which we ate the next day and they held up really well. Overall, this was one of the better food trucks that so far have come to our building. And, yes, if the truck comes by again, we will be there. Next time I will try the gumbo or the jambalaya.

Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious! Hands down the best food truck I've had in years. Our new condo community is fortunate enough to host Jambalaya Bros on Monday afternoons this month of February. We happen to walk by and decided to try a few dishes. My go-to Louisiana dish is shrimp po-boy but they don't do fried foods. They arrive early to prep their dishes fresh. We ordered "Best Thing on the Truck" aka Jambalaya with chicken and sausage and topped with shrimp etouffee. Also ordered Shrimp Etouffee meal with beans and corn. This shrimp dish was super huge and incredibly tasty. There's a shrimp in nearly every bite. The corn side dish was a creative hot corn dish mixed with tomatoes and a seasoned sauce. I cannot wait for them to come next week!

Saw that this food truck was going to be in my area, so I ordered dinner. I ordered the Chicken and Spicy Pork Andouille sausage Jambalaya. This was the BOMB!! I have a friend from Baton Rouge Louisiana, and it was as good as his! I hope he doesn't see this it was flavorful, spicy and delicious! The pic doesn't do it justice, because I ate a good amount before I took my pic! My wife had the Shrimp Etouffee, she loved it!!! This is their website, follow them to see if and when they'll be in your neck of the woods! You could also make the trip to where they're going to be, it's worth it!!! https://www.jambalayabros.com/

Thanks to food truck night in our Alexandria neighborhood, we got a little taste of cajun! We ordered shrimp etouffe with a side of red beans & rice, jambalaya with a side of corn maque choux, and an order of dirty rice. After inhaling the shrimp etouffe like a turbine-powered Hoover vacuum on steroids. The ettouffe was also buttery and blonde- and usually I don't like blondes but this one was perfect! :) There was no way I had room for dirty rice, but maybe just one bite...OH MY GOODNESS, this was better than crack & I couldn't stop!!! It was well seasoned and sinfully delicious. The plus side was that I was wearing yoga pants (don't judge - I may take up yoga one day). I've had many types of jambalaya and I have to say I like this type the most - not soupy, well seasoned, not too salty, and the perfect ratio of meat to rice to veggies. It wasn't overly red and tomato-ey like other jambalayas I've had and I really liked that because usually I don't like jambalaya for that reason. The red beans and rice had to take a back seat to my obsession with the dirty rice, but I really liked that the red beans didn't have that pork/sausage flavor to it. If you are looking for meat in the red beans/rice, then you should pass on this as I believe it's vegetarian style. A very delicious meal and now in a very happy food coma. I will have dreams of the dirty rice for weeks.

Shrimp etouffee. There were 3 large scoops of rice. Started eating before pic.

Wow. Just finished my shrimp etouffee that we picked up at their truck in Fairfax. So good. The perfect amount of heat to compliment the buttery flavors, without overwhelming them. This NOVA etouffee was better than the etouffee I had in NOLA! And the portion was generous for the price. Recommend ordering ahead online, as they might sell out. Will be following the future locations of this gem so I can try their jambalaya and gumbo.

Our usual food truck was not outside of work the other day so I decided to take a chance based on the amazing smell coming from inside. I have traveled to Louisiana many times over the years and I've had many versions of Jambalaya. I'm not an expert on the topic, but I know good food when I have it. I ordered the jambalaya with a side of red beans and rice. Perfect ingredients, just the right amount of sausage and shrimp- 9.5/10 all day long. The red beans and rice didn't impress me at first glance, but the subtle layers of seasoning and perfectly cooked beans sold me- 10/10. In both dishes when I initially began eating them the flavors were subtle, like the heat level. But bite after bite the flavor jumped through and the heat level climbed to perfection (for my taste, which is about a 4/10 heat). I'm a big guy and when I say I had to force myself to eat half- it's not an exaggeration. I will definitely be following this truck and would drive out of my way to get their food. The plate you see including side was $14.00- a great price considering I had enough left for dinner.

    Took some jambalaya home. Delish.

I've had Jam Bros on a couple occasions and every time I want more. It is SO DAMN GOOD. I always get "the best thing on the truck" which seriously lives up to the name. My girlfriend loves the jambalaya. I highly recommend the JB . ps the lady that complained about the "burnt rice" is crazy. That stuff at the bottom of the pot is TASTY

Fri 10/20/17 1pm, Chef Jared This food truck came to the office today, so I gave it a try. I got the Pork Jambalaya Box ($10) with a side of corn maque choux. The Andouille sausage had a nice spicy kick to it. I didn't taste much of the pork shoulder. The creamy sweet corn side complimented the saltiness of the jambalaya. It was a nice pleasant pairing. I would definitely try some of the other dishes this food truck has to offer. Give them a shot!

So unique in this area! Had this at the South Riding event and it was the best food there. Hoping they come back "Best thing on the truck" $13 Jambalaya smothered in etouffee with side of corn is really good. It's definitely on the heavier side so maybe keep some Tabasco in the side.
